Chapter 26: Liberation
"Are you alright?" The unstable body was supported by someone, and Mo Xiang Wan turned back to meet the worried eyes of Bei Gong Ruo Ning.
"It's nothing." Smiling to reassure Beigong Ruoxing, Mo Xiangwan shifted his gaze back to the crack. The crack, which had been repaired with great difficulty, was now showing signs of expanding again due to the sudden interruption earlier.
"Something is getting closer!"
"Hurry up."
Leng Qingchen and Yin Shengzhi's faces fell, they could feel it, danger was getting closer.
"Blood, the fresh and delicious taste of human blood." The youth's voice drew near, causing everyone present to shudder involuntarily. They wanted to move, to stop him, but found themselves unable to utter a word, let alone cast another magic array.
A white figure swiftly passed through the crowd, rushing towards the gap where the dark aura was constantly leaking out, and then fell in without hesitation.
It turned out to be Lan Jing.
She put the mirror she had been holding in her arms into the gap.
Anno covered her mouth with her hand, looking at the scene in front of her in disbelief. She knew what that mirror meant to Lan Jing, it was the source of her spiritual power, if she lost it...
A surge of spiritual energy gushed out from the mirror, while Lan Jing's life was rapidly draining away. Her blue hair turned white in an instant, and her delicate skin became dry and withered. The 12-year-old girl transformed into a frail old woman in just one minute.
The barrier was finally repaired, the mirror and protective layer fully merged together. Lan Jing lay weakly on the ground, her unfocused eyes indicating that she didn't have much time left.
"Why are you so stupid?" Walking up to Lan Jing's face and squatting down, the thin screen between them, Anno's tears fell from her eyes and slid down her cheeks, stretching out her hand to touch, but because of the boundary, she missed.
"Don't cry." A hoarse voice sounded, and Lan Jing's face showed no fear of death at all, as if she had been relieved, with a relaxed smile. "Death has always been my wish. Being caught, controlled, and used by those people, I've long since not wanted to live." If it weren't for Anzi Xia's coma, she wouldn't have been able to break free from her restraints and act on her own.
"It shouldn't have ended like this, it shouldn't..." Anno could only mutter the same words repeatedly, her voice getting smaller and smaller until it turned into sobs.
