Chapter 2 Street Performing Boy
When she came out of the barber shop, it was already one o'clock in the afternoon. Wu Ning's fingers fiddled with her short hair, occasionally pinching out a few strands of fine hair.
Walking in front of a window, Wu Ning suddenly used the glass as a mirror and stood in front of it to admire her new look: her slanted bangs just barely covered her eyebrows, the barber had applied a lot of hair wax so that each strand of hair could stand upright in mid-air, her figure was slightly tall and slender, with clear brows and bright eyes, paired with a set of neutral clothes, she looked like a "fake young man"!
Speaking of Wu Ning, although the name sounds a bit like a gentle lady, but in fact she is not a gentle lady at all! If you have to blame someone, it's her old man for raising her as a boy! Before she entered junior high school, she had always had a short and neat haircut. She looked just like a boy, with rough behavior and a loud voice, and was often mistaken for a boy, and couldn't correct people even if she wanted to!
Wu Ningmo decided to change her hairstyle when she was just in the first year of junior high school. Wu Ningmo met an old classmate, who stared at Wu Ningmo's student ID with 'Gender: Female' in surprise: "Little Wu, you're actually a girl? I thought you were just a bit feminine in name! Really didn't see it at all..."
Wu Ningmo was really stimulated! She sat at the same table as that boy for 6 years, from grade one to six! He treated her like a boy? No wonder he fought with her every day! Wu Ningmo decided right then and there: she would grow long hair, she would be a lady!
It's been three years now, and Wu Ning has fulfilled half of her promise - she kept her long hair, but didn't become a lady.
"Who would have thought I could be so handsome? Will I knock out a bunch of girls?" Three years had worn away the childishness on Wu Xing's face, and although he still had short hair, he now had a more sunny and handsome appearance.
Xiaoxue that color little girl will be scared to see herself, right? Weng Mei didn't think Xiaoxue would drool and bleed from the nose in front of her, couldn't help but feel pleased with herself. Weng Mei couldn't help but become more self-loving, making faces at the mirror and posing in different styles. Unbeknownst to her, on the other side of the 'mirror' were two young female sales clerks who were staring at her in a daze, drooling: "Wow, so handsome! That guy is really handsome——"
Just as a salesgirl was about to rush out and pounce on her, Wu Xing finally had enough of admiring herself, and she left the mirror.
It's just a little more than now, and the entrance ceremony of that bird-like academy won't start until two o'clock! Wǔ Níng thought so, and decided to wander around for a while.
Wu Ning had only taken a few steps when she was drawn in by a pleasant sound. It wasn't heavenly music, but rather an upbeat and fast-paced rhythm that suited people living in today's rapid pace of life.
Wu Ning followed the sound and finally found its source in a deserted square.
Rusty walls with peeling advertisements, crumbling steps with missing tiles, and even moss growing on the damp ground, a street corner that has been forgotten by people.
The sound source that attracted Weng Mei's attention came from an iPhone, and with the dynamic music in the phone, a boy was jumping street dance under the basketball frame.
The boy stood with his back to Wǔ Níngmò, she couldn't see his face, only a tall and straight figure. His movements were smooth and agile, every stretch of the hand and kick of the leg was perfectly executed. Wǔ Níngmò didn't understand dance, but she understood martial arts, so she used her own Wu-style kung fu to help the boy name each movement: Carp Turning Over, Horse Treads on Flying Swallow, Swallow Returns, Frog Jumps in Succession...
