Chapter 25: The Unwinnable Gamble (Part 2)

Chapter 25: The Inevitable Losing Bet (Part 2)

  I lost.

Huǒ Líng'er wiped the sweat from her forehead and acknowledged it very succinctly.

The man's speed was nearly twice hers, his strength and agility were beyond her reach, he was as fierce as a leopard in the thicket.

  "Wipe it off."

A white-clad man had a soft silk handkerchief tucked between his jade-like fingers, and his mood seemed to have improved all of a sudden.

Huǒ Líng'er gave him a white eye "Can't be bothered with you."

  "Hehe, can't you take losing?"

The man had his arms around his chest, with a careless attitude, and floated out some annoying words.

  "Bang!"

Huǒ Líng'er snatched the handkerchief from his hand, wiped her face fiercely with it, and then threw it back at him. She knew this was impolite, but she did it on purpose, intentionally trying to annoy the man, who liked to be high and mighty and loved to provoke her anger.

"Kitty, is this you being coquettish with your master?"

The man in white clothes elegantly folded his handkerchief again and again, and then put it back into his own pocket without any hesitation.

Huǒ Língér was appalled to find that she couldn't utter more outrageous words. If she said the man didn't love cleanliness, then his sweat belonged to her too.

After the conflict, Huo Ling'er decided to leave Yao Nu far away and never have any more contact with him again.

  "Not in sight."

Throwing down a sentence, Huo Ling'er pressed the button to start the game device's door.

  At this moment——

The man's deep voice sounded "We will meet again, definitely."

  Goodbye

The man's voice kept echoing in her mind for some reason, Huo Ling'er shook off a large group of students and looked towards the high platform.

After failing to find Yī Zhéyǔ's figure, a huge stone that had been weighing on her heart seemed to have been suddenly removed.

Before seeing her own heart's desire, she had already clearly seen others' intentions towards her, which wasn't necessarily a bad thing.

He chuckled softly, and Huo Ling'er was ridiculing her own naivety and selfishness.

Huǒ Líng'er watched the night view of the Royal Amusement Park with a bad mood, thinking that she might never enter this place again in her life.

As she wandered and daydreamed, Huo Ling'er faintly heard a heavenly voice ringing out under the brilliant starry sky at midnight: "I hope my spiritual child finds happiness."

Ling'er? Not cat child? Was that man talking about her? With a dreamlike feeling, Huo Ling'er felt like she was dreaming. How could she describe her emotions?

There's something sour, sweet and a little astringent.

Why can men say such righteous words after ruining everything when she was playing midnight games for love too?

  Is he too self-righteous?

She lifted her feet and walked blankly to her own boudoir, before she could react, her body was caught by an arm.

"Your complexion doesn't look good, are you sick?"

Besides Huayueye, no one else speaks with such an airy tone.

Huǒ Língér's weak eyes glanced at him, his handsome appearance was not something she could appreciate at this moment.

  I'm tired.

  "Not like you."

He patted her head with a blooming flower on a moonlit night, and then scratched her hair, thoroughly making her look more disheveled before he was satisfied and stopped.

"What did you say I am like?" Huo Ling'er was too lazy to argue with him.

Huǒ Língér's anger surged up to her throat, and in a fit of rage, she jumped up and bit down on Huā Yuè Yè's delicate neck, which was still recovering from its previous injury.

Huǒ Líng'er suddenly regained all her strength and threw out a sentence "Serves you right."

She carelessly slammed the door and left.

Standing in the moonlit garden, she cried and laughed at the same time, wailing "You have a terrible temper, if I marry you back home, won't you murder your own husband?"
