Chapter 12 The White Horse Prince

Chapter 12: The White Knight Prince

Xizi finished washing up and sat down at the dinner table to eat breakfast with an air of elegance. Xizi's mother saw that her daughter had gotten up early again today, and she couldn't help but wonder quietly to Xizi's father: "Hey, do you think this child has some problem or not? Why has she been getting up so early these past two days."

Xizi's father also frowned and said, "Well, I think there's something wrong with that too. Why don't we let her sleep for a while?"

"Pshaw!" said Xi Zi's mother, turning up her nose at Xi Zi's father's words. She gave him a look and said, "Let's observe for a few more days before saying anything."

Xizi happily finished breakfast and looked at her watch. If she left now, she would still arrive 10-15 minutes early even if she walked. Happily, she picked up her backpack, but then suddenly remembered the physical education teacher's reminder. Oh no! She almost forgot that the physical education teacher told her to be late today! What kind of thing is this? Being late isn't allowed, and not being late isn't allowed either. Why is it so hard for me to live?! "Xizi, you finally got up early, hurry up and go to school!" Xizi was struggling with whether or not to leave when she heard her mom's urging voice. Forget it, I'll just go first, and then enter the classroom after the bell rings.

Xizi complained about her bitter life, and before she knew it, she was almost at school. She met more and more classmates along the way. No good, she had to find a place to hide, or else that gossip would find out and laugh at her again. She turned into a small alley with few people walking by and sat down on a step. With her hands supporting her cheeks, she watched as passersby hurriedly walked past her face. Just as she was feeling pleased with herself for finding a good spot, she saw a familiar figure riding a bicycle towards her from afar.

Class monitor Gu Xiao, wearing a white shirt and light blue jeans. His slightly long hair was blown by the north wind, making him look like a real-life version of Liuxiang Feng. Xi Zi stared at him in a daze, forgetting to cover her face. "Hey, you're almost late, what are you doing here?" Gu Xiao said, stopping his bike with one foot on the ground in front of Xi Zi.

Xizi lowered her eyebrows and said innocently: "I didn't want to be late either, but didn't you hear what Teacher Liu said yesterday?"

Gu Xiao chuckled and said, "Don't listen to him, who teaches like that? Hurry up, come on, or you'll really be late."

"But..." Xizi was in a dilemma, she didn't want to be late, but also didn't want to offend the only teacher who looked up to her.

"What's the matter? I'll go talk to him, if not, let the head teacher talk to him. You come up quickly." Gu Xiao didn't have a good impression of Xi Zi either, but since she wasn't late, it was reasonable to not punish a student who was on time. Xi Zi also didn't want to be a disobedient student from the bottom of her heart, and what Gu Xiao said was right anyway. At worst, she could just run a few more laps in the evening, why take the blame for being punished?

With a clear mind, she sat happily behind Gu Xiao. "I'm ready, let's go—" Xi Zi's bright voice sounded from behind Gu Xiao.

Gu Xiao smiled lightly and stepped on the accelerator. When the car was stable, she said: "I'm kind enough to give you a ride, but you're treating me like a horse, huh?"

"I don't have one, even if I did it would be a white horse prince." Xizi was carried by Gu Xiao, and she felt like she was also basking in his glory, unintentionally flattering him. Gu Xiao knew that this girl was clever, but he thought her intelligence wasn't being used in the right place. The two of them chatted and laughed along the way, enjoying the morning breeze, and attracting many envious glances from their classmates. They slowly arrived at the school's parking lot.

Although Xi Zi has long legs, she still jumped off the car lightly. She patted Gu Xiao's shoulder and smiled, saying "Thanks." Gu Xiao saw that she was happy because she wasn't late, and thought that she didn't seem as unrefined as others said, probably a girl who is willing to make progress too. He just gave her a faint smile and went to park his car. Xi Zi skipped towards the classroom, but at the door, she saw Teacher Liu. Suddenly feeling a bit embarrassed, she smiled awkwardly and said "Teacher, hi."

"Teacher Liu asked with a serious face, "What's going on today? Didn't we say that we need to strive for more training time?" Xizi saw the unhappy look on the physical education teacher and felt a bit distressed, not knowing how to respond."

"Teacher Liu, the exam is approaching. The class teacher said 'whoever is late again will have to copy Shakespeare's entire collection' I think Xizi is afraid of delaying training, so she deliberately didn't dare to be late." Gu Xiao's voice sounded from behind Xizi. Moreover, it was said in such a reasonable and emotional way that Xizi couldn't help but admire her as the class leader.

Xizi clapped her hands and exclaimed: "Exactly, exactly, it's just like this!"

Ding ling - accompanied by the crisp school bell. Xizi said with a pretended difficulty in her heart, "Teacher Liu, I really had no choice but to rush here for fear of delaying my exercise."

Teacher Liu also knew that Hongxing High School still attached the most importance to academic performance, and he didn't want to go against the school either. "Alright, normal training, not a single day off."

"Good class." Xizi said, happily swinging her ponytail and entering the classroom. Although she wasn't late yesterday, seeing her again today still caused a small stir. Xizi was happy to have solved the problem of being late. At least one thing was off their minds, let them gossip if they wanted to. She sat quietly in her seat, looking like a good student as she prepared her books. Since it was early self-study time, sometimes teachers would come over, and it was a time for classmates to review and discuss on their own. Xizi suddenly thought of something bad - she hadn't finished her math homework yet. She smiled at her deskmate Liang Ziqin, saying: "Oppa, I haven't finished my math homework yet."

"Hmph" Liang Ziqin looked at Xi Zi with displeasure. "Your homework isn't finished, you should go find Qi Shuo or Gu Xiao, it's none of my business." Liang Ziqin had been asked by friends all day yesterday about the news of Xi Zi and Qi Shuo being in love. Today, as soon as he entered the classroom, he heard their portable radio broadcasting the news that Gu Xiao had ridden a bike to bring her to school. Before Xi Zi even arrived at the classroom, his phone was already buzzing with gossip questions. "I heard Xi Zi loves Gu Xiao?" "Was Qi Shuo dumped?" and other such idiotic questions, making him feel like he's getting a headache. He was annoyed that this Xi Zi had nothing to do with him, yet her business always came to bother him. And now, this Xi Zi still had the nerve to ask him to copy her homework, no way.

Xizi looked at him with a sullen face and was also annoyed. Her voice grew louder as she said, "Hey, what have I done to offend you again? I'm always asking for your help in a humble manner, but you don't even have any sympathy."

"Sympathy?" Liang Ziqin, in order not to let her show off too much, had been constantly reminding her to do her homework. She never remembered her own things, and now she was blaming him instead. "Xi Zi classmate, do you want me to write it for you and help you hand it in?"
