Corpse in the coffin

  The Person in the Coffin

I pushed Pong, who was still lost in thought, and saw the look of regret on his face. Perhaps this book had reminded him of something again. But I was eager to know how much of it was true and how much was false.

"Don't worry, I don't recognize many characters either. What I saw was just a rough idea, and there are also some classical grammar applications inside that can't be deciphered with my current ability. We can only wait until we get out of here and let the coffin hand it over to the experts in the organization who specialize in research, maybe they can understand it."

We can't help but think of coffins again.

"If that's the case, why did the person who took away the first volume of 'Unspeakable' from here insist on translating it? Did he not know that later generations would do the same as us?"

"Maybe he thought no one would come, maybe it's the requirement of mortal people, maybe these two books counteract each other, or maybe nowadays people just can't translate them, many maybes, we just don't know." PongPong said.

We gave up the idea of searching for it in the volume, and we had no choice but to force open the coffin. Unfortunately, we didn't have any tools on hand, nor did we know what kind of coffin this was or where the head and tail were. Luckily, my friend and I both had quick tempers, so we came up with a simple solution. The coffin was placed on top of a two-meter-high platform, and earlier, my friend had easily climbed up by stepping on the stone beast at the bottom. It wasn't hard to get up, and fortunately, there was enough space on top. This was the first time I'd seen a coffin up close, and my heart kept racing with excitement. Although we'd seen many dead bodies along the way, it had all become normal to us by now. But looking at this slightly moldy coffin body, the coffin lid that still had some color, and the faint scent of incense wafting from it, I felt a thrill of excitement. People always like to study unknown things, and this time was no exception.

I exchanged a glance with Pong, and we simultaneously pushed the coffin off the high platform. It didn't feel as heavy as we had imagined, and it instantly crushed those two guardian beasts to death. We jumped down with excitement, but our faces were filled with disappointment. Except for the scattered wooden planks and stones, there was nothing left here. We carefully searched through every piece of debris, only to find a child's clothing, which Pong accidentally blew away with a sneeze. Was this just an empty tomb? No wonder its structure was so simple. I took out that half-rotten ham sausage and put it to my mouth, thinking that eating something might calm my mood.

But then I saw Pengpeng throwing those pieces of fragments onto the wall to vent his anger, and with each crash, the thick dust on the wall fell off, and I seemed to see something. I immediately stopped Pengpeng and walked over, gently wiping the dirt off the wall with my hand, and gradually, the contents inside appeared.

The paintings, from ancient times to the present, are easier for people to understand than words. The circular tomb chamber was surrounded by walls filled with patterns, and I estimate that we scraped off about two kilograms of soil from the wall, which is now useless. Without knowing where to start, I randomly chose a spot, and the painting method was simple - a person with big eyes stood there, with many people kneeling in front of him. Next, I saw a pit, with people crawling out of it, and another person with big eyes standing outside the pit. Later, this big-eyed person pulled a person with two small braids, probably his lover. Finally, this person kowtowed in front of an earth mound, with three burning incense sticks inserted in front of him. This is where the first painting ended. The second painting began with the big-eyed person growing some whiskers, and a child holding a popsicle ran over, with two small braids floating on his head. Next, the person's posture didn't change, but the child grew up, and the lower part of the painting became bigger and bigger, with the last frame still being an earth mound.

I wonder if this kind of May-December romance has been popular since ancient times? Did young girls back then also date older rich men? Suddenly, Pengpeng called me over to the diagram he was looking at, and it turned out that this was an explanation for how this tomb was formed.

First, there was a tower, then a person with big eyes appeared in the tower, and another person stood under the tower. Next, these two people both appeared on top of the tower. Later, a group of people surrounded the person with big eyes in the middle, with two people lying on the ground, one of whom was the ponytailed girl who had appeared multiple times. The ground cracked, the tower fell underground, and there was no one left here. Underground, the person with big eyes and the ponytailed girl lay together, but another person stood beside them, with another version of themselves lying behind this person. Next came a scene of this person working, chiseling stone and chopping trees. Finally, it was a high platform, with two people lying inside the platform, while this person leaned towards the other version of themselves lying on the ground.

I think I understand something. Maybe the person who buried them is a worldly person, and he used the meteorite's magnetic energy to preserve his spirit. Maybe it's because the magnetic energy gradually weakened, causing his body to shrink day by day, because in this painting, he still maintains that normal height. And those two people are now buried under this stone platform.
