Elevator

  Elevator

  Elevator

It's a house, but there is no door, as if it was built directly in this corridor. The copper statue beside me also stopped at this position. I'm sure that the light behind me has disappeared, and I slowly walked towards this house. The interior decoration is very simple, with only one table and two chairs. On the table, a half-burned candle flickered dimly. Was it because I was too busy escaping just now and neglected the copper statue beside me, which led me to the right path? Sometimes people get confused because they think too much. Looking around the house, there is nothing special, except that the walls are very white, like newly painted.

"Brother-in-law, you're making it hard for us to catch up." Pengpeng panted behind me.

"How did you get here? Where were you just now?" I asked them with some indignation.

The coffin saw Pong Pong still gasping for air and spoke on his behalf:

"We saw the signal you sent and followed, who knew that after just a few steps you ran like crazy, we had no choice but to chase after you, so we followed you over here."

"Impossible? We've been waiting for you guys for five minutes! You're just not moving." I asked in surprise.

"It wasn't me... We were waiting for you, but you just didn't stop. We waited until you walked away and disappeared before we felt something was wrong, so we quickly chased after you. Then we heard your loud cries and followed the sound of your voice to run here." Pengpeng's breathing finally calmed down.

"Anyway, we've managed to get out of that strange circle. What's your impression of this house now?"

It wasn't until then that they looked around, ordinary decorations, nothing worth seeing. The simpler the lie, the harder it is to debunk, if there was a puzzle or a combination lock, we would have had a way to deal with it, but here, except for the flame on the candle, everything else was inanimate.

"Could it be that this candle has some secret?" Pong asked.

"It's also strange, this should have just been lit, otherwise it would have turned to ash after burning for so many years." The coffin is also weird.

"Let's pick it up and take a look." I had already reached out my hand.

The candle was easily picked up by me, and nothing happened as imagined.

  "Don't move." Pengpeng shouted.

He walked up to me and slowly stroked the table in front of me, and only then did I notice that the bottom of the candle was connected to an invisible thread. I don't know what material it is, maybe it's the legendary heavenly silk. Pengpeng slowly pulled it, feeling some tension before stopping his hand, and by this time the coffin had already crawled under the table. The other end of the thread was buried underground, but it was pulled and loosened with ease, without being locked in place by the ground.

"Can you feel it?" asked the coffin.

"Yes, there's something on the other side too, but it seems to be stuck in mid-air, just above this table." Pong said.

The coffin took out a small knife and wanted to cut it off, but after cutting for half a day, it still couldn't be cut off.

"This is too much! What the hell is this? Such a small thing, and the knife can't even cut through it." The coffin creaked strangely.

I looked at the candle in my hand and understood.

"I told you, you don't understand, this is the treasure of the martial arts world, the heavenly silkworm silk. Nothing can cut it, only fire can burn through it." I didn't care what nonsense I was spouting about martial arts anymore, and lit the candle in my hand on fire. It's strange to say, but as soon as the thread met the flame, it melted instantly, not giving me time to react, and slid straight down. The speed was so fast that none of us three could catch it.

It seemed like something had fallen to the ground. The whole cabin shook violently, and the three of us fell to the ground. Then a wave of dizziness rose to our heads, and our entire bodies felt like they were falling down. It was like the feeling of being in an elevator.

In an instant, the scene in front of us changed. It was no longer those monks chanting sutras, but a room that lived up to its name. Only then did I realize that the thing just now was actually an elevator made by ancient people. How advanced! What principle did they use to drive it?

To prevent the elevator from automatically going up again, we quickly walked out of it. It was obedient and stopped there without moving. We couldn't help but think about how to make it go up again when we left.
