Kasaya
The first time I walked into this place full of ancient atmosphere, my pores tensed up involuntarily. I held the short knife horizontally in front of my chest, and on the way here, there were many strange things, so I had to equip myself to prevent sudden attacks.
This path isn't very long, just a few hundred steps to the end. There's no big gate that people dislike here, and the empty doorframe makes me feel at ease as I walk through it. On the other side, the entire space suddenly opens up, like entering a courtyard. Red flowers, green grass, and an ancient tree with a thick trunk - this scene is almost identical to what I saw when I reached the fifth floor, except for the sound of flowing water, but the small bridge still exists.
Just as I was about to take a step, the flashlight suddenly lit up the entire courtyard. My eyes had already gotten used to the darkness, and the sudden light almost blinded me.
Closing her eyes and backing away, she felt the chill of the wall behind her and finally felt a sense of security. After getting used to it for a while, she slowly opened her eyes again. Everything here seemed so magnificent, as if by some unknown principle, everything emitted a golden glow: golden flowers, golden grass, and a small golden bridge.
I tried shaking the flashlight back and forth, but nothing changed. It's strange that there's no electricity, yet it can emit such dazzling light. I tried scratching the wall randomly to see if any gold dust would fall off, but the wall was too slippery and couldn't scrape off anything.
I turned around and stepped onto the small bridge again, I jumped up and down on it with force, feeling the bridge shaking. I scratched my hair and stabbed the knife into various parts of my body, the pain disappeared, but everything in front of me still existed, I thought this time it wouldn't be an illusion, would it?
I was looking for that familiar pavilion again, I remember I fell asleep there. The feeling of treading on the grass is still so real, and indeed, the pavilion is still there. When I walked closer, I found an extra person there. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a coffin. He had his eyes tightly closed, with a serious expression, wearing that worn-out Buddhist robe, only exposing his head.
I rushed to his side, calling out his name, but he didn't move. I put my hand on his shoulder and gently shook him, still ignoring me.
I was eager to know what had happened to them, so I shook him even harder, but unexpectedly, under my repeated shaking, his head 'cracked' and broke off from the neck, with fresh blood spraying out of the neck hole and directly splashing onto my face. Looking at him, I was stunned for a full two minutes, until the bloody smell drilled into my nose and flowed into my mouth before I came to my senses, only then did I release his hands that I still held, and backed away.
"Ah! Ah!" A series of moans reached my ears, I turned my head to look, the coffin's head was right next to me, the tightly closed eyes were now open, staring straight at me, the mouth was also open, as if wanting to say something to me.
I immediately knelt down in front of him, constantly kowtowing and apologizing non-stop.
"What are you doing?" A voice sounded behind me.
I suddenly stood up and found it was a little kid, but that face had already experienced many hardships. In real society, there is a saying that goes like this: "dwarf".
"Who are you?"
"Oh? You're asking me, but shouldn't you be asked who you are instead? Why are you kowtowing to a dead body?"
"He was my friend, accidentally killed by me, and still died with his eyes open."
"He wasn't killed by you, but by his own demons. If he had let go of some of his obsessions, it wouldn't have ended like this."
After he finished speaking, he walked straight towards me. I dodged him repeatedly, but he picked up the head and casually threw it under the bridge. I ran over to catch it, but it was too late. The coffin died because of me, but didn't even get a complete corpse, leaving me with endless regret in my heart.
"Dust returns to dust, earth returns to earth. Following the cause and coming, following the effect and ending, why must you be so stubborn?"
After finishing speaking, the dwarf left and disappeared without a trace.
"Who are you? What is this place? How can I get out?" My voice seemed to be absorbed by the golden walls, but the dwarf's body remained seated. I suddenly wondered why this dwarf only threw his head but didn't move his body. Why did he appear only after I shook off his head, my gaze focused on the cassock draped over him.
