Chapter 33: The Coffin Has Something

Chapter Thirty-Three: The Coffin Has Something

The night is dark and the wind is strong, but it's not too late to start something new. This is Qin Zhong's current state of mind, he is extremely happy to have received help from Han Jun. He trusts Han Jun so much because his father and grandfather's notes mentioned that Han Jun is a straightforward and unyielding person who values loyalty and justice.

Two people took the tools and ran quickly to Lao Gengtou's tomb, the route was inquired by Qin Zhong during the day, mostly from several older men who were still trustworthy.

Under the starry sky, Qin Zhong and Han Jun slipped into a dense forest of pine trees. This was the most densely populated area outside of Andong City, also a key area for environmental protection in the city. However, this place was mostly filled with tombstones, and although the government had ordered several cleanups, each time they hired serious offenders to dig up graves. But even they were human beings, and their fear of the dead was always irresistible. More irresistible still was the lingering conscience deep within their hearts.

"Uncle Han, we're here, my god!" Qin Zhong swept the area with his weak flashlight and immediately turned it off. What came into view was a series of graves, one after another, with only enough space between them for one person to pass through.

Han Jun stood in front of Qin Zhong, his chin stretched out, scratching his head and said: "With so many graves, we can't search for them one by one, right?"

"Of course not, with so many graves, one by one, we can't find it until tomorrow morning. I think, Old Geng's family in the village should be considered a wealthy family. If they really want to cover up his actions, then their grave must be the most luxurious, at least not that shabby without a tombstone. Let's go, there is a villa over there." Qin Zhong compared the luxurious grave to a villa.

This sentence made Jin Jun feel very awkward, he didn't know how to answer Qin Zhong, but still smiled and said: "Your metaphor is really vivid, this time we'll see what his tomb looks like."

The two people didn't dare to turn on the flashlight again, because Qin Zhong knew that Lao Geng should be burning incense now, so the traces left by burning big paper wouldn't be few. In the entire tomb group, only one newly built tomb on the outer edge was left with luxurious and burnt offerings.

Qin Zhong and Han Jun looked at each other, then walked up to the tombstone. Qin Zhong turned on his flashlight and shone it on the grave of Ci Fu Ge Yun Shan. The words were correct, but when they saw the photo above, both of them gasped and took a step back.

"My goodness, putting up a photo is scary enough, look at the dark energy on his face, and he's still wearing a facial mask. This family is really weird, even after death, they're still wearing a facial mask." Qin Zhong said seriously: "You damn thing, you're still showing off even after death, I'll dig up your grave today, if you're not there, I'll go ransack your house."

The Korean military took a look at Qin Zhong and then looked at the tomb and said: "Start work."

Qin Zhong nodded, and the two people's tools flew up like lightning. Before long, they had dug out the grave, but when they saw the coffin inside, they were even more astonished.

"Nanmu coffin!" Qin Zhong's words immediately revealed the value of the coffin: "This old fellow really spent a lot of money, even if his family is a big grain producer, they wouldn't buy such an expensive coffin. His mother, when he was alive, he was so frugal, but now that he's dead, he's become extravagant. Sorry, Old Geng, today I, Qin Zhong, will open your coffin and see how comfortable your sleeping place is."

As soon as Qin Zhong's words fell, the crowbar in Han Jun's hand had already been inserted into the gap between the coffin and the ground. With a burst of strength from both hands, one end of the coffin was pried open, and Qin Zhong's crowbar went in. The two men worked together to pry open the coffin lid. As soon as the coffin lid opened, a strong stench of rotting flesh wafted out, which was the smell of a corpse that had reached the stage of rapid decay and had the most pungent odor.

Han Jun handed Qin Zhong a mask, and the two of them put on their masks. One of them had a piece of ginger in his mouth, but at this moment, both of them were stunned.

They saw that the coffin of Old Geng had more than a dozen facial masks placed inside, Qin Zhong put on gloves and opened the facial mask on Old Geng's face, seeing that it was already full of corpse insects, with black flies crawling all over his face, which was indeed the face of Old Geng when he passed away, this explains one thing, Old Geng is dead.

Now that it's been proven that Lao Geng is dead, this proves one thing: the previous speculations by Qin Zhong and Han Jun were all wrong. In other words, including Lao Geng's death, everything in this series of events was done by someone else.

Qin Zhong suddenly froze: "It's bad, we've done something wrong!"

"That's right, if we don't dig, we won't know what went wrong." Han Jun said very seriously.

"Ah, old Geng, this is my fault. Wait for me to restore your coffin back to its original state. Don't blame us, after we've finished our business, we'll come back and give you a proper burial."

"Who!" Four or five super bright flashlights shone on Qin Zhong and Han Jun.

Qin Zhong's legs suddenly turned cold, he took a glance at Han Jun: "It's over, we've been spotted."

  "What should I do?"

"Run!" Qin Zhong said this, turned his head and ran. These two guys didn't know how many graves they crossed over, nor how many edges of graves they trampled on as they ran.

Two people were running on the road, and they heard someone behind them running while hitting a gong and shouting: "You bunch of bastards, you killed my old man, and now you're back to dig up his grave. You are so ungrateful that I must take revenge for my father today, or else I won't be surnamed Geng."

Qin Zhong and Han Jun were now in a desperate situation. They had dug up someone's grave, and the owner of the grave believed they had killed his father. If their family members didn't dig out their own hearts to mourn for the old man, what else could they do? Their only option was to run away. As the saying goes, "The soft are afraid of the hard, the hard are afraid of the cunning, and the cunning are afraid of those who don't care about their lives." And the ones chasing after them were precisely those who didn't care about their lives.

They didn't know how long they had been running, although the shouting behind them had stopped and they should have shaken off their pursuers. However, they could still hear panting sounds, and when they turned around to look, it was a black-backed dog.

This dog saw Qin Zhong and the two people staring at him, but on the dog's face, there was no malice, only a kind of anxiety and pain.

Qin Zhong put down his foot, and with a swift motion, pulled out two kitchen knives from the back of his waist. He turned around, ready to strike the dog, but the dog wagged its tail, looked at Qin Zhong as if it had something important to say, then turned its head and ran back.

"This is strange, what's going on?"

The Korean soldier wiped the sweat from his head: "I haven't run like this in twenty years, it seems like this dog is leading us somewhere."

  "Really?"

"Let's go and take a look."

Qin Zhong scratched his head: "If he takes us back to his home, what will we do?"

  "Then run again!"

Qin Zhong furrowed his brow: "Uncle Han, you can't be serious, are you believing a dog's words?"

The two of them stared at each other for a long time, but the dog refused to budge, continuing to whine in a low tone as if ready to pull Qin Zhong and the other person back.

Qin Zhong gritted his teeth and said in a stern voice, "Alright, this time I'll go back with you. If you deceive us, I'll chop you up and roast your dog meat."

"Woof woof!" The dog barked twice, running back and forth at high speed. When it reached the middle, it rushed to a deep ditch and barked twice.

Qin Zhong shone his flashlight downwards and found that there were actually four or five people trapped inside, who were the same people that had been chasing them from the beginning.

"Hey, what are you guys chasing us for?" Qin Zhong asked, as he took a closer look and found that one of them was Old Geng's son.

Lao Geng's son glared at Qin Zhong with an angry expression: "If you don't dig up my dad's grave, I'll chase after you?"

"It's just a dig, I just want to find out the truth, you don't have to be so nervous, do you?" Qin Zhong explained.

"The truth? The truth is that you guys harmed my dad, made him catch the evil wind, otherwise he wouldn't have left so early, his body was fine!"

"What's wrong with you?" Qin Zhong glanced at Han Jun and then said to the people in the pit, "Alright, I'll tell you for the last time. There is a famous doctor from our city next to me. Ask him how your father died. I don't need to lie to you. Your father was killed by someone's sinister move. Believe it or not."
