Chapter 2 The Female Corpse's Text Message
"Ah!" I let out a loud cry of fright.
"Sister, I didn't mean to offend you, please spare me, I'm still a virgin!" I begged with a sobbing tone while trying to pry open the female corpse's hand.
I closed my eyes tightly, not daring to look at the female corpse. But with my own strength, I couldn't pull her hand at all. The female corpse's hand pulled tighter and tighter, a tearing pain came from my arm, sweat dripped down my face continuously, my complexion turned pale instantly.
I was pained to suddenly open my eyes, which were already congested with blood. In front of me, the female corpse's mouth seemed to be moving, as if she was saying something to me, but my entire nervous system was on the verge of collapse, and I had no idea what she was saying.
I didn't last for a few seconds before I was knocked out by the intense pain.
"Hey, wake up, wake up!"
I slowly opened my eyes to see the teacher's face right in front of me, and next to her was a girl holding a single sheet of paper, standing there smiling at me. I didn't pay much attention to her.
"You little brat, I asked you to help me register and you fell asleep? Have you finished registering?" Looking at Chen teacher's speechless face, I immediately reacted.
"Fake corpse! Fake corpse!" I crawled up from the ground, pointing at the trunk in the corner with a terrified expression.
Mr. Chen looked at me with a suspicious face, "You little devil's brain is short-circuited, that box is filled with high-concentration formalin, what kind of resurrection are you talking about?"
I took a closer look and found that the box was locked properly with warning signs of hazardous goods, which looked no different from what I saw before.
"You must be dreaming!" The teacher patted me on the shoulder.
"But..." I paused for a moment and scratched my head.
Is it really a dream? How can it be so real? The female corpse clearly grabbed my hand. I thought to myself, and looked at my arm again, but there were no marks on it.
"Class is about to start, hurry up and go to class!" The teacher urged me.
I walked out of the storage room in a daze, still thinking about what had just happened. I turned around and suddenly felt a chill emanating from inside the storage room.
It must be an illusion, it must be an illusion, I silently hinted to myself, and quickly left.
The teacher in charge of the storage room shook his head and sighed, saying to the girl next to him: "You students are all so nervous, but look at him, he's actually quite calm, even sleeping among the corpses."
The girl heard the teacher's complaints and couldn't help but laugh.
Back in the classroom, my heart was still racing.
Looking at me with a pale face, Li Meng poked me with the tip of his pen: "What's wrong with you? Your soul is not in your body?"
"No, nothing."
"Wait for a while and it will be dissected, you'd better cheer up."
I nodded.
After listening to the teacher's instructions, it's time to start practicing dissection. Today's task is to first separate and observe the muscle structure of the abdominal wall, then open the abdomen to observe the contents of the abdominal cavity.
I put on gloves, holding a scalpel in one hand, standing nervously in front of the operating table, staring at the corpse's pale eyes, hesitating to make a move. I was afraid that this corpse would also suddenly come back to life. But my fellow students behind me kept urging me on, and I had no choice but to steel myself and proceed.
After I made the first cut, several shrill cries suddenly came from behind me.
"Ahh!!!!!!"
"Sorry, I used too much force."
I looked at the abdominal incision I had accidentally cut, and a mixture of brown formalin liquid and intestines gushed out together, forming a fountain. Having committed such a low-level error, I could only look around at everyone with apology.
"Wow..." The girl next to me was so close that she was suddenly nauseated by the smell and everyone looked at me with a gloomy face.
It's hard to separate the muscle layer now, and from time to time, it will flow out. We also have to worry about cutting open the large intestine and having the contents leak out. Li Meng saw that everyone was in a bad mood, so he quickly said: "Yang Guo, you're not doing well today, just stop and go watch from the side."
Watching the corpse being dissected step by step, revealing the thoracic cavity, the dark red and yellowish muscle layer was slowly separated, this dissection had been done many times before, it should have been habitual, but watching it again made me think of the scene in the morgue just now, a wave of fear rose up in my heart.
Fortunately, the dissection task was completed smoothly thanks to the efforts of other team members.
The sky had darkened, hastily finishing dinner, finishing tonight's class, dragging a tired body back to the dormitory.
"Li Meng, have you seen my phone?" I subconsciously searched in my pocket.
"It seemed like you took it away at noon, how could you forget it in the classroom?" Li Meng's words completely collapsed me.
A scene emerges in my mind: when I was helping out in the storeroom that afternoon, I casually put my phone in the tool cabinet of the storeroom.
"Damn it, do I have to go back again?" My heart suddenly started racing.
It's 10 o'clock at night, the anatomy lab building is open 24 hours a day. In order to facilitate the medical school to introduce new corpses, it is impossible for people to carry several corpses in broad daylight. The teaching building should be empty now, and it is not ruled out that there are couples being intimate in certain classrooms. If I run into them, it will be live broadcast! Comforting myself like this makes me feel more energized.
I came to the outside of the storage room, the door was not closed, it was ajar. I gently pushed open the door, and it was pitch black. I nervously turned on the light, and the storage room was still lined with various specimens. I entered with my head tilted to one side, afraid to look at the boxes in the corner. I took three steps forward, one step at a time, and came to the tool cabinet. The phone was still there, and I carefully stretched out my hand to retrieve it.
I picked up my phone, just about to head out, when it suddenly vibrated, "buzz..." I was startled and almost threw the phone away. I calmed down, cursed his ancestors for eighteen generations, and opened the new text message I had just received.
"I knew you'd come back."
These few words flashed before my eyes, and in an instant I was like a wild horse breaking free from its reins, bursting out of the storage room with a 100-meter dash.
"Have you seen a ghost?" Dorm head Long Chenyu stood at the door with a clothes hanger, seeing me rush in and hastily lock the door.
As I relaxed, I slid down to the ground by the door. Li Meng saw me sweating profusely and panting heavily, and jokingly said: "What's wrong? Did you run into a ghost?"
"No, no, nothing. I'm going to wash up." I stuttered in reply, still not fully recovered from the recent fright.
"You guys said, what's going on with Yang Da Xia lately, always being so absent-minded?" "Don't know, maybe it's because Little Dragon Girl became a ghost and came to find him." The others in the dormitory all laughed and discussed.
I hastily washed and got into bed quickly, tightly wrapping myself in the quilt.
After a while, my mood calmed down slightly, and I took out my phone with shaking hands. The text message was from an unfamiliar number. I thought for a moment that it might be someone's prank, so I decided to send a text back, "Who are you?" My trembling hand took two minutes to type out these three words.
"My name is Lin Mo, you've seen me before." The message replied quickly.
My heart skipped a beat, could it be that the female corpse had really come back to life?
"Where have we met before?" I ventured out.
"Storage room".
I saw that, the smiling face instantly occupied my entire brain, I frantically fumbled to remove the battery and pulled out the SIM card, throwing it directly out of the window, leaning against the corner of the wall, trembling.
That night, I tried hard not to think about it, but as soon as I closed my eyes, the scenes from that afternoon kept emerging in my mind. I lay awake all night, unable to sleep no matter how hard I tried.
The next morning, Li Meng on the lower bunk saw me wake up and started scolding me.
"Yang Guo, what were you doing last night? Were you playing video games all night? Did you know I fell asleep in your frequency?"
Damn it, he has no idea, I was so scared last night that I trembled all night.
I slowly got up, and he looked at me with eyes full of bloodshot, pale white, and continued to ask: "You wouldn't have really been on the verge of exhaustion, would you?" He was looking at me with a face full of interest.
"No, nothing's wrong, I just can't sleep." I said calmly.
A day's lesson has me constantly shuttling between the teaching building, laboratory building and anatomy teaching building, feeling listless and unwell. These two words are most suitable to describe my current state. Yesterday's events have been lingering in my mind, unable to be shaken off. The education I received since childhood and the reality I witnessed yesterday have me wavering between science and reality, what is it that is entangling me? In the end, I decided to go to the library at night to look up some information, hoping to find a scientific explanation.
The library was very quiet, with only a few people scattered around. I found the bookshelf for natural science books, which was about one person tall, and various books were neatly arranged on it. I casually picked up a book - "Unsolved Mysteries of the World" and started flipping through it page by page.
It roughly describes the world's top ten unsolved mysteries, such as Bermuda, the Pyramids, and ancient Egyptian tombs. I flipped through it roughly, without any descriptions related to corpses.
Then I came to another side, a book caught my attention - "Chinese Folk Supernatural Events". Turning over a few pages, a line of text entered my eyes.
Taiwan's Zhu Xiuhua borrowed corpse and returned soul case, Taiwan newspapers once published a shocking global bizarre event. Wu Linwaoren, a woman with a waist, was declared dead by a doctor in the 48th year of the Republic of China. Unexpectedly, she suddenly woke up after 3 days and 3 nights, at that moment she changed from a 40-year-old Wu Linwaoren to a 17-year-old Jinmen girl Zhu Xiuhua.
He swallowed hard, then continued to flip through the pages, reading about some related events such as the Qingcheng Mountain zombie biting people and the cat-faced old lady's resurrection. I was fully immersed in the book, looking for any sentence that could explain the doubts in my mind, without noticing the surroundings.
I stretched my sore waist and took a look at my phone to find that more than an hour had passed. I decided to take a break and relax my dry eyes.
When I looked up and glanced around, I suddenly saw a girl through the gap where I was holding my book, she was looking at the book too.
However, just as I wanted to look away, the girl put down her book and smiled at me with a strange smile. My heart skipped a beat, and suddenly my whole body broke out in cold sweat, and goosebumps appeared one after another. I immediately dodged her gaze, hastily gathered up my books, and fled from the library like an escapee.
