Chapter 2: Zhenhai Roars Against the Evil Dragon

Chapter 2: Zhenhai Roars, Fighting Against the Evil Dragon

Three sheep were called to the kitchen and felt that they were doomed today, guessing that the master did not know what method to torture them with. As soon as they entered the kitchen, they were told to clean up the kitchen first, then sweep the toilet clean, and even wash the bathtub clean.

Three sheep thought that you usually didn't see him so fond of cleanliness, socks were turned over and worn again before washing, what's wrong with him today, of course he only dared to think so in his heart.

But this has become a habit. Every time he meets someone from that side, he becomes infatuated once again. Anyway, it's always himself who ends up suffering.

Fuhe walked back to the office on the lower floor, picked up the doorman's book and started flipping through it. He found some strange things, although he was already used to seeing ghosts and monsters, but a ghost coming to him for cleaning was still a first-time encounter. Moreover, there were many things about this ghost that he didn't understand yet, such as why the ghost knew he could capture ghosts, wasn't it afraid?

Also, why did this ghost lose one of its seven spirits? Is someone raising a turtle, but Fu Chuan's heavenly eye saw that the ghost was not being controlled by anyone, and this ghost's ghostly power is limited, so it would be useless even if it were raised.

The Palm Gate Book records an event where a demon once controlled ghosts to seduce humans, absorbing their yin and yang energy to boost its magic power, similar to the granny in the movie A Chinese Ghost Story. However, according to the book, this type of monster was eliminated by the then-Palm Gate Master 600 years ago. Fu Chuan suspects whether another such monster has emerged, but it's unlikely, as these monsters only appear during the darkest periods of society when resentment is deep-seated, providing them with space to survive. In today's society, not even a single zombie can be created, let alone a thousand-year-old demon; it's just too improbable.

Fujiang had doubts in his heart, so he found some other books left by his ancestors to look at, but none of them could figure out the reason. He wanted to call Xing Chengtian, but it was already late at night, so he gave up.

Looking out the window at the high-end office building across the street, Fu Chuan felt a bit complicated. The lovely little girl he had just met was his junior sister's apprentice. His junior sister, Li Baobao, grew up with him in Bao Fa Tang since childhood. She is now also the master of Furong Guan, who can calculate others' life fortunes by pointing her fingers. Many people who come to her for fortune-telling are high-ranking officials and nobles. Furong Guan is located in that beautifully decorated office building, which was left to her by her ancestors. Apart from this office building, the Li family's property also has a lot of land in the prosperous areas of the city. For centuries, the Li family has been dominated by women, who are not only good at fortune-telling and investment but also excellent at financial management. So even if Li Baobao doesn't do these things left by her ancestors, she can still live a carefree life.

Fu Chuan thought of this, his heart felt stuffy, and he didn't even have a single copper coin in his pocket. Everyone else was being picked up by luxury cars, and he felt like someone across from him was staring at him, seemingly holding something in their hand.

  Sure, here is the translation:

As expected, it was that move again. Fu Chuan's hands and feet became stiff and uncontrollable, then he turned around and fell to the ground with a thud. When he made a surrendering gesture with his hands clasped together towards that direction, his hands and feet finally returned to normal.

Few people in the world know his birth eight characters, but only she dares to put his birth eight characters on a scarecrow and make fun of him.

"Master, what's wrong with you?" San Yang came in after hearing the commotion and saw Fu Chuan's miserable state, "Did Master Shu scold you again?"

Three sheep helped Fu Chuan get up, and his hands and feet were still a bit sore. He patted San Yang's forehead and said, "Too talkative!"

After a while, Fu Chuan's hands and feet had recovered some flexibility. He used the true energy in his body to thoroughly unblock the meridians that were suddenly blocked just now, which was considered to be truly relieved.

The three sheep's expressions also eased up, and they laughed: "Master, Master Uncle is still like a child, enjoying playing with this."

Fu Jiang's face turned ugly, probably the most failed senior brother in the world is him, otherwise even his little junior sister can occasionally cast a spell on herself, making herself so embarrassed.

Fuhe was a bit tired from all this, so he didn't answer San Yang and went back to his room to rest. Before turning off the lights, Fuhe took out the Palm Gate book again and read a few chapters, which was his habit.

The Zhāng Mén Shū records many stories of the previous masters capturing ghosts and demons, as well as methods for treating various types of evil spirits. However, on the last page of the book, there is a story that has left Fù Chuān puzzled to this day. The entire event was written in narrative form.

The story roughly tells that in the very distant past, a certain place in ancient times was a beautiful and fertile land of fish and rice. It faced the sea, so from afar, the sea was blue and the sky was blue. With a mild climate and hardworking people, every household lived a good life. Even birds and beasts were willing to settle here.

One year, when the wheat was golden and the sorghum was dark-skinned, a sudden black wind swept across the sea, rolling up waves, roaring like a tiger or wolf, and rushing straight into the city. The ships were capsized, the masts broken, houses collapsed, and the good crops were swallowed up by the seawater. The black wind and evil waves came so suddenly that the common people had no time to hide, and many people drowned. That scene was truly miserable!

How did this dark wind and evil wave come so suddenly? It turned out that a wicked dragon was stirring up trouble. Seeing that the place was good, it thought of swallowing it whole to make it its own dragon palace. Just as the wicked dragon was causing chaos and harming the people, they suddenly heard a roar like thunder. A red-yellow male lion leaped from the sea shore, swooping down on the dragon like an eagle grabbing a rabbit. The sea surface instantly churned up waves, with strong winds blowing fiercely, as the lion and dragon fought from dusk till dawn. The wicked dragon couldn't withstand it, turned tail and ran. As it fled, it thought: "I won't be able to occupy this place, nor will I let it become a good place." So it spat out white foam that was both bitter and alkaline as it ran. The male lion pursued closely behind until they reached the depths of the East Sea, forcing the wicked dragon to withdraw the seawater that had flooded the city. Only then did it stop. As the wicked dragon fled, it left behind a deep ditch.

The fierce dragon ran away, the sea water retreated, and the people inside and outside the city were able to avoid a bigger disaster and live in peace again. To thank the lion for saving the people from harm, they invited a famous blacksmith to lead 99 apprentices with high skills to cast an iron lion using 999 tons of steel over 999 days. Finally, on the spot where the lion had jumped up, they successfully cast this magnificent iron lion that seemed to come alive.

That evil dragon didn't die, but as soon as it saw this iron lion, its whole body went soft and its paws went numb, and it never dared to cause trouble again. Later, people also called this iron lion the "Sea-Calming Roar".

That's the whole story, but it turns out that the Town Sea Roar that drove away the evil dragon back then had actually become a demon-collecting artifact of the Nanmen Fu family, which is also the Fire Qiuqiu that Fu Chuan rarely uses.

The book records that the Xi Wang is the fifth son of the nine sons of the dragon, with a fearless personality and boundless magical powers. According to legend, it was also the mount of the Buddha. How this fire Xi Wang became connected with the Fu family at Nanmen is not recorded in the book.

The book also records a terrifying creature, but Fu Chuan has never seen it with his own eyes. It is said that in the past, the Southern Gate Fu family sacrificed a total of 100 disciples, including the master, to get rid of this monster recorded in the book. However, these are not what interest Fu Chuan the most. What interests him the most should be the last few pages of the book, which record: "In the East Sea, there is a beast called Jiao, which can eat dragon brains and fly up and down in the air with extraordinary ferocity. Every time it fights with dragons, it spits fire several feet high from its mouth, and the dragons are often defeated. In the summer of the 25th year of Kangxi's reign, in Pingyang County, a Jiao chased a dragon from the sea to the sky, fighting for three days and nights. People saw three pythons and two dragons fighting together against one Jiao, killing one dragon and two pythons, and the Jiao also died, falling into the mountain valley. Among them, there was an object that was 10-20 feet long, shaped like a horse, with scales and a mane. After it died, flames still rose from its scales for several feet, which is precisely the Jiao."

If simplified, the translation is: It has a body like a horse, one or two zhang long, with scales all over its body and flames wrapped around it; it can fly, eat dragon brains, extremely fierce. When fighting dragons, it spits fire from its mouth, and the dragon cannot resist. Someone once saw a single Pi Xie fight three Jiaos and two Longs, fighting for three days and nights, killing one Long and two Jiaos before dying.

The Palm Gate Secretary recorded a thing called Jīn Máo Xiū, which is said to be the only zombie that has cultivated golden fur. It is known that zombies are corpses that do not rot after death, with their flesh shrinking into their bones, and then having tendons, on which white hair grows. After 500 years, the white hair turns black, and another 500 years later, it turns yellow (some say red). Another 500 years later, they cultivate golden fur. When they have cultivated for 1,000 years, a heavenly thunderbolt strikes, almost all zombies are reduced to ashes, but the only one that has cultivated golden fur is the Jīn Máo Xiū.

There is also a legend that the Golden Haired Qiong is the mount of Guanyin. In legend, it resembles a dog, is extremely ferocious, eats people and often fights with dragons. In myth, the Qiong has the terrifying power to summon gods, has several thousand or even tens of thousands of years of Taoist practice, and there are records that the Golden Haired Qiong is the ancestor of ancient zombies, while the four great zombie kings known to people today are its descendants.

There were thirty-six successive generations of the Fu family's patriarchs at Nanmen, none of whom had ever seen a monster like this in their lifetime. Their descendants had subdued quite a few, but Fu Chuan hadn't even subdued an undead creature.

Closing the palm door book, Fu Chuan gradually fell asleep...
