Chapter 3 Li Wei, Li Baozi

Chapter 3 Li Wei, Li Baozi

Seeing my surprised expression, Cao Ming smiled and said: "After they got the golden scepter, they rushed to Xinjiang. Because on the surface of the golden scepter there is a relief map, although it was a map from the Qing Dynasty, but you can still tell that it's the Western Regions."

"You mean, the treasure of Manchu is in ancient Western Regions?" I asked with some incredulity.

Cao Ming didn't say a word, but nodded his head. I continued to ask: "When are we leaving?"

"We've been waiting for you, as soon as you nod, we can set off tomorrow." Cao Ming replied truthfully.

"What about Fei Fei?" I said, expressing my concern in my heart.

"Cao Ming let out a sigh and said: 'Fei Fei will be taken care of, I've already arranged for someone.'"

"How many of us are going?"

"It's just the two of us." Cao Ming said, looking at me.

I nodded and said: "I'd like to go see FeiFei before we leave, is that okay?"

Cao Ming did not speak, and just nodded his head.

The next morning, I arrived at the hospital and heard from the doctor that Feifei had shown signs of waking up last night, but it was just a brief moment, and now her condition has stabilized.

After listening to the doctor's words, I put down my worries. On the second day, we arrived at Jinan Airport early in the morning and boarded a flight to Urumqi.

I'm actually quite afraid of heights. After the plane took off, I looked out the window and my heart started racing immediately.

After five and a half hours, the plane landed smoothly on the runway of Urumqi Airport.

As soon as I got off the plane, I started vomiting.

Cao Ming saw my condition and asked: "Are you okay?"

I waved my hand at Cao Ming and replied, "It's okay, I can hold on."

Cao Ming chuckled and then supported me as we walked towards the exit.

There was already a car waiting at the airport gate. Cao Ming and the person who picked us up exchanged a few words, then got in the car and headed straight to the local guest house.

After wasting about an hour on the road, we arrived at that reception center. When I saw that reception center, I wanted to give it a new name. Instead of saying it's a reception center, it would be more accurate to say it's a refugee camp.

The person who picked us up saw me frowning and walked over to say, "Sorry, it's a bit simple here, but you're only staying for one night. Tomorrow morning, someone will come to pick you up."

As soon as he spoke, I understood what he meant. I hastily waved my hand and said: "I didn't mean that, I don't care."

Although I spoke nicely, the initial enthusiasm on his face had disappeared.

The man led us in front of a house and said a few more words to us before turning around and leaving.

As I watched him disappear from our sight, Cao Ming turned around and said to me: "You are too impolite."

"How could I be impolite? I didn't mean it that way, he's the one who misinterpreted it. How can you blame me?" I immediately retorted in response to Cao Ming's rebuke.

Cao Ming looked at me without saying a word and directly pushed open the door.

As soon as I entered the room, I was dumbfounded.

There is everything in the room, TV computer air conditioner... as long as you can think of it, it's all here.

"Do you know what 'don't judge a person by appearance' and 'can't measure the sea with a bushel' mean?" Cao Ming smiled at me triumphantly, then threw his luggage onto the bed.

Looking at the modern home appliances all over the house, I also felt a bit embarrassed. After putting my luggage on the sofa, I opened my computer and started playing.

I just logged in and heard the prompt tone of Didi.

I took a look and found it was my university classmate Li Wei, in school we all called him "Fatty".

"Hey kid, you still know how to get online, where have you been making a fortune lately?" As soon as he opened the message box, Li Wei sent over a string of words.

"Where are you now?" I replied.

  I am in Urumqi.

  "What's going on in Urumqi?"

"What else can I do? After graduating from university, no one arranged a job for me. Now I'm working as a typist in a company."

  "How much per month?"

  "A little over two thousand."

"I have a way to get rich, do you want to come with me?" Although Li Wei is my university classmate, his major was architecture, which has nothing to do with mine. I think this western region trip should be able to use his knowledge, so I thought of pulling him over.

"I won't do anything illegal." Li Wei hesitated for a moment before sending over these few words.

"It's not an illegal thing, I have a police officer next to me, can I do something illegal?"

  "How much money is there?"

"It's too early to make a conclusion, but I can guarantee you that it will be no less than five."

"Okay, let me think about it, what's your phone number? I'll call you tomorrow."

"1872132." As soon as I sent over my phone number, Li Wei's profile picture turned gray.

I know this thing will definitely work out because that guy really needs money. Thinking of having another helper, I couldn't help but laugh out loud.

Hearing my laughter, Cao Ming walked over and patted me on the shoulder, asking: "What's so funny when you're alone?"

I turned around and told him everything in detail, but unexpectedly Cao Ming shook his head repeatedly after hearing what I had to say.

  "Why not?" I asked.

"This matter has not been reported in the news, how can you let an outsider get involved? What if there's any danger?" Cao Ming said with a serious face.

"There won't be any danger, he's practiced taekwondo after all." I replied nonchalantly.

"What if he didn't mean any harm but still spilled the beans?" Cao Ming asked.

When Cao Ming said this, I suddenly sat up from the chair. How come I didn't think of this question?

He had already gone offline, so I could only wait for his call tomorrow.

Then talked with Cao Ming for a while, belly started rumbling, other things don't matter, fill the belly first.

I said a few words with Cao Ming, then I walked out of the hostel and onto the main street.

Sat down at a nearby stall, ordered twenty skewers of mutton, a bottle of beer and some small dishes, then sat down.

The lamb skewers had just arrived when a person's phone call caught my attention.

"Mom, I know, I won't be cheated. Besides, who can cheat me with my son being so smart? Hmm... you can rest assured. Hang up first, and you should get some rest too." The person hung up the phone and put it in their pocket.

I walked over quietly and slapped him on the shoulder, shouting: "Li Baozi."

Li Baozi is actually Li Wei. Li Wei was obviously startled by me, and the beer he had just drunk suddenly sprayed out of his mouth.

Li Wei turned around and looked at me, his face first showing anger, then turning into wild joy.

Li Wei suddenly grabbed me and asked in surprise: "What are you doing here?"

"I just arrived today too, I was staying in that guest house across from here when we were chatting." I sat down with a smile.

"It's been over a year since we last met, right?" Li Wei said as he poured me a cup of beer.

I downed the beer in one gulp and said, "That's enough." After that, I took a glance at the dishes on Li Wei's table and said, "You'd better come eat at my table, your food is too shabby." As I spoke, I picked up the things Li Wei wanted and headed to my table.

Li Wei hastily stopped me and said: "No need to go, if you think it's not good I'll order again."

"Whatever you're pointing at, I've already ordered everything on that side. Come with me quickly." He said, picking up the dishes and continuing to walk towards my side.

We ordered another crate of beer and after finishing it, we ordered another one. (A crate of beer contains twenty-four bottles.)

After drinking two crates of beer, we were both a bit tipsy.

"What's with that... that getting rich you mentioned?" Li Wei asked, fueled by the wine.

I smiled and replied: "This can't be said for now, let's talk about it again after I wake up tomorrow."

Li Wei smiled and pointed at me with his finger, saying: "At that time, you were the most clever in our class. I didn't expect that now you are still the most clever. Never mind, never mind, anyway, you have to tell me tomorrow. I'll go back first and call you tomorrow." Saying this, Li Wei stood up, made a gesture of holding a phone to his ear with his hand, and then walked away unsteadily.

I smiled and watched Li Wei leave, then beckoned to the street vendor boss.
