A bizarre wedding procession

  A strange wedding procession

I was stunned, the groom? How come I didn't see the groom before! Those people earlier, none of them looked like the groom, could he have arrived later? I wanted to ask, but nobody in the room was speaking.

Even my dad didn't say a word when I left the house, it was eerily quiet. The only thing I could see was the tiny bit of space under my feet because the red cloth on my head isolated me from everything around me.

"I'm out, be careful of the threshold!" I had just walked to the yard when I heard the old lady's voice behind me. My heart panicked - blind! She was married to a blind man! Otherwise, why would the old lady remind him to watch his step? My teeth clenched tightly on my lip, although I had known before that my dad's match must have some problem, but I didn't expect it to be a blind one.

Forget it, let's just be blind then, it's better this way, and divorce will be more convenient in the future! After sighing, Liu Bao reminded me that I should get on the sedan chair. It was a classic and elegant wedding, but unfortunately, I didn't have the mood to appreciate all of this.

She sat down and went in, but Liu's wife whispered in her ear: "Zhaodi, this red cloth must be taken off by the groom at his home, you can't take it off yourself, it's unlucky."

I nodded, and soon I felt the sedan chair being lifted up by someone, and then it landed steadily on something. Until I felt like sitting in a car, moving at a constant speed, I looked out from under the canopy and found that the sedan chair had been placed on what seemed to be the cargo compartment of a truck. Fortunately, this compartment was open-top, without a cover, and the vehicle was moving slowly.

The wind blew, occasionally rolling up the curtains of the sedan chair. We were in a small place, and there weren't many cars on the road. The sound coming from behind wasn't loud, perhaps it was somewhat far away, I couldn't hear clearly, but I could be sure it was music, and it sounded like the kind played during funerals, not the kind played during happy events.

Out of curiosity, I couldn't help but stretch my head out and look around with the wedding veil, but as soon as I looked, I was frightened because not far behind me, I saw people constantly throwing white paper money from the car, all along the way! The sound came from the trunk of that car, and my heart suddenly accelerated.

What's going on here? Paper money, isn't that something only used for the dead? And that music sounds like a funeral dirge, it's even more chilling in the middle of the night. The wind is freezing, you could even say it's icy! That bone-piercing chill, I'm controlling my urge to scream as I watch the paper money being scattered from the car.

He suddenly pulled back, sat back, and felt a chill in his heart. What's going on? What's really going on? He kept repeating this sentence to himself, and he didn't even know when the car stopped until Old Lady Liu shouted from outside: "Zhao Di, don't fall asleep, we're here."

The sedan chair was lifted up by people, and afterwards it was very obvious that I thought they should have put me on the ground.

The groom has brought the bride home! Kick open the sedan door!" As soon as the old lady's voice stopped, a gust of wind blew in. Judging from the bright light below, it seemed that someone had lifted up the curtain of the sedan.

I can't see, I don't know what the person I'm going to marry looks like, but my heart feels a little scared, that fear is like a wave from the depths of my heart, I try hard to control myself to look normal, actually my body is trembling, just don't know if anyone has noticed.

I was led out by Liu's wife from inside, basically the same as what I saw on TV. Before entering the door, I stepped over a brazier, and then I heard Liu's wife shouting: "The bride is here! The bride is here!" Although she shouted loudly, I felt that there were not many people in this house, it was very quiet.

  "Bowing to heaven and earth!"

As soon as the voice fell, Old Lady Liu supported me and turned around, making me bow in the direction of the door I had just entered, and I stupidly bowed.

"Two bows high hall!" This time also turned back, I am clear direction, until Liu's grandmother let me stop, I slightly bowed down.

  "Husband and wife bow together!"

Turning around, just like before, I had barely straightened up from my crouched position when the sound of an old clock rang out in the house. The whole room was filled with its reverberations - two strikes! It struck twice, indicating that it was now 2 o'clock in the morning? Thinking about this time, my entire body felt chilled to the bone.

The bell stopped, I was about to get up, but in front of me, I heard a rooster crowing! It was that kind of loud, masculine crowing sound. At first, I was stunned, and Liu's wife, who was supporting me, seemed to stiffen her body as well. As soon as I came back to my senses, I fiercely tore off the red cloth covering my head.

Right in front of me, a majestic rooster! The rooster stared at me with an air of seeming significance, I gazed back at it, my mouth agape in stupidity...
