The Sixty-Third Hexagram: Already Returned

  The Sixty-Third Hexagram Rebirth

"Senior brother, Tiger Head... let's split up and close all the security doors on this entire floor. Leave only one back door for entry and exit... Let's gather here again in 10 minutes." After Yang Hao finished speaking, he led the way back to the hall. He took the elevator to the 7th floor. Although it was called the 7th floor, the elevator in the building wouldn't stop between floors 1-7; there were only elevators connecting each floor within the building. The 7th floor was the topmost level of the shopping mall, and above that were the offices and workplaces of various companies. There were five security doors in the entire hall, each leading to the next floor up.

"Be careful everyone..." Yang Hao whispered into the earpiece before starting to search around this prototype floor one by one...

"Finally can catch a breath....." Yu Deng tiredly sat down at the counter of a clothing store, casually grabbed a piece of clothing to wipe his dirty face. Hu Tou somehow found a few packets of coffee and made them, then handed a cup to Yang Hao. The three chatted while drinking...

  "What should I do next???"

"I'm not sure either, these zombies seem to have some intelligence and aren't entirely equivalent to wild beasts... It's not easy to catch them..." Yu Deng said somewhat dejectedly after taking a sip of coffee.

"They don't seem to act individually. Once one appears, a group follows... and their eyes and ears are very sensitive. Do you still remember what happened before we got on the elevator? After a gunshot was heard, all the zombies came..."

"That's right... and each one is incredibly powerful... without any pain, no matter where their body is cut off or injured, it won't affect their attack..." Hu Tou added after hearing Yang Hao's words, hoping to find a countermeasure.

  "Master, what do you think?"

"These things you call zombies seem to remind me of something... Ah, yes, according to historical records, over 500 years ago in Chinese history, there was a kind of 'living dead' that appeared, with descriptions similar to the zombies you see today. They attacked humans, were dead during the day, and roamed around at night. I'm also wondering if there's some connection here..."

"What? There were zombies in ancient China?"

"It's still unclear whether the records are true or false, and credibility needs further investigation..."

"Master, what's our next move... Ah, yes! When Brother Yu Deng was escaping from the 7th floor, someone opened fire to help us. Who is that person? Did you send them?"

"I saw... That person wasn't sent by me, this time there are only three of you..."

"Could it be that there is still someone alive?"

"It's possible that if there are indeed survivors, they must have a deep understanding of the zombies. You should try your best to rescue them."

"Alright, Master. If zombies and living dead are the same, then let's take action again early tomorrow morning."

"Alright, rest for now... the body will recover with action... in short, be careful with everything..." Yang Hao nodded and then he and Hu Tou took off their equipment and counted their ammunition. Hu Tou was wiping his beloved knife.

Time passed by minute by minute, but these three people, although they were closing their eyes, didn't have the slightest sleepiness. Probably anyone who came to this place couldn't fall asleep either, especially with the occasional low growls of zombies coming from outside. It was enough to make one's hair stand on end.

A sleepless night has passed and the sky is already dimly lit. Through the thick blue glass of the square, you can see that the streets outside are in disarray... Burnt-out cars, limbs scattered all over the ground, scraps of newspaper and US dollars swirling in the air from time to time. The buildings everywhere have been severely damaged, as if none were spared.

Yang Hao walked up to the clothing counter and picked up the phone. However, all he heard was a "rustling" sound from the receiver, and there were no signals on TV or radio either.

"It seems that the city's communication equipment has been completely paralyzed." Hu Tou and Yu Deng heard Yang Hao's judgment and also walked over to confirm it.

"Alright, you two wait here for me... I'll go get a car."

"It's probably not suitable for you to go yourself, right???"

"Alright, it's more convenient for me to go alone... just wait for me..." Yang Hao said, shouldering his gun and walking out of the back door of the building. The desolate streets looked even more depressing than China during World War II. The entire city had turned into ruins. It seemed like finding a usable car would be very difficult.

Yang Hao walked out of the alley and onto the street, but what he saw next made him take a cold breath. The entire street was filled with zombies. However, they seemed to be lacking in spirit. They were all standing still, swaying back and forth. Seeing this, Yang Hao picked up a piece of broken glass from the ground and threw it at one of the zombies. The zombie slowly turned its head to look over, then continued to sway back and forth on the spot...

"It seems they react slowly during the day... shouldn't be too much danger..." Just as he thought this, Yang Hao discovered a Buick business car next to a zombie... it seemed undamaged and still drivable.

"It's it" Yang Hao's mind moved and his body followed suit, rushing out. The zombies only felt a gust of wind and didn't react much. Yang Hao opened the car door, got in, pulled down the ignition wire under the steering wheel, and kept touching... Before long, the car really started up.

As the car started, all the zombies at the door looked over, but none of them took any action. Yang Hao saw this and knew it was time to leave, so he stepped on the gas pedal. The car immediately sped away.

"Brother Shi, Hu Tou... I'm already at the entrance... come on board..." Yu Deng and Hu Tou heard Yang Hao's voice and came to the car from the back door of the building.

  "Is it going smoothly?"

"Hmm... these zombies seem pretty sluggish during the day... let's catch one while we're at it..."

"Alright..." After the three of them came to an agreement, the car drove out of the alley and turned several corners before stopping at a gas station to refuel. As they were pumping gas, they saw a stupid-looking zombie standing next to the mailbox.

Yu Dang and Hu Tou exchanged a smile. Then they took down a bundle of rope from the car, tied up the zombie tightly, and threw it into the trunk.

The car started again and just walked for a short while, then the tiger head shouted...

  "What's that?"

"Radio station???? What do you want to do?"

"Ahao, have you forgotten what Master said about finding that survivor who fired the shot? We can use the radio to send out a signal, as long as they can hear it. Won't we be able to find them then?"

"Haha, not bad, it's a good idea..." Yang Hao smiled after hearing the tiger head speak, and then the car arrived in front of the broadcasting station across the street. The three people walked into that frozen building one by one.

Due to the lack of light, the building was pitch black inside. The three people had no choice but to put their night vision goggles back on and carefully search for the location of the broadcasting room.

"...over there." The tiger head pointed with his hand to a corner on the 2nd floor.

"I'll go... you two cover me..." Yu Deng took the lead this time and walked forward, because he was a close-range weapon, going up was the most suitable, while Yang Hao and Hu Tou's guns in their hands could cover him in case of an emergency.

"Hello... To all survivors, ladies and gentlemen, hello. We are a special forces unit sent by China for peacekeeping missions. We leave this message again, if there are still survivors, please come to the front of the radio station, we will wait for your arrival." Yu Deng finished leaving the message and pressed the repeat button.

Three people quietly bypassed the swaying zombies and returned to the car. They thought someone would contact them, but it was already three days. Kerry's supplies arrived just in time. The scarce ammunition and rations were all replenished.

On the 4th day, Yang Ha and others arrived at the radio station in their car as usual, thinking they would be disappointed again. However, they found a neatly dressed and steady 'normal person' standing in front of the radio station door. This person showed a surprised expression when he saw Yang Hao's car coming over.

"Are you people sent by China???"

  "That's right..."

  "Please follow me..."

"Are there still people? How many more people?"

"There are a few more, mainly our boss wants to see you." The mysterious man replied coldly to Yang Hao.

  "Who is your boss?"

  "Li Guangyi..."

"Li Guangyi? This name sounds so familiar... I think I've heard it somewhere before..." Yang Hao muttered to himself before calling out to the man to get in the car and then drove away from the radio station.
