Chapter 20: Kong Xuan Seeks the Way, Chaos Great Dao
It wasn't until much later that Kong Xuan finally regained his composure, turning back to look at the crowd with a silent gaze.
The girl hastily walked up and asked with concern: "Big Brother Master, are you okay?"
Kong Xuan smiled slightly and shook his head: "I'm fine, Second Master doesn't want to hurt me, just now he was just testing my cultivation."
As soon as these words came out, the faces of the twelve Golden Immortals all turned slightly red.
Guang Chengzi stepped forward and bowed his head, saying: "Big Brother Master, just now was my fault, I hope Big Brother Master will forgive me!"
The remaining eleven Golden Immortals looked at Guang Chengzi with surprise and curiosity, wondering why he would take the initiative to admit his mistake. As the chief disciple of Yuanshi Tianzun, Guang Chengzi was highly valued by his master and was a leader among his fellow disciples, so it was natural that he had an air of arrogance about him. However, when they saw Guang Chengzi looking at Kong Xuan with respect in his eyes, everyone suddenly understood. Kong Xuan remained unflappable in the face of the saint, showing no fear whatsoever, and this bravery alone had already earned him the recognition of the crowd. No wonder Guang Chengzi acted like that!
Kong Xuan smiled slightly and said: "Brother Guang Chengzi, there's no need to say more. This time, I received guidance from my second master, and my understanding of the Great Way has reached a higher level."
Then he turned back to the girl and said: "Little sister, did you understand your teacher's intention?"
The girl nodded and smiled: "I knew the teacher was up to no good when she sent me down, it turns out that's all she wanted - for me to put in some effort!"
Kong Xuan heard this and could only smile bitterly, what else could he say to his younger sister? She actually turned the merit of this matter into selling labor!
Kong Xuan came before the Yellow Emperor, saying: "Your Majesty, my teacher has said that what you are practicing is the Way of Tai Huang. It is a way of proving one's Dao in the midst of killing and violence. Now, great calamity is about to arise among humans, I hope you will take care of yourself!"
Xuanyuan Huangdi asked in doubt: "Shengshi, you said that a great disaster is about to befall the human race, but why?"
Kong Xuan gazed into the distance towards the east, and after a long while, he said: "You will soon come to know of this matter, but for now, it is not necessary to speak much. You are the Tai Huang among the Three Sovereigns predetermined by the Heavenly Way, and it cannot be changed. Therefore, although there may be many dangers, they will all turn into auspicious signs, and when the time comes, a great divine being will assist you. From today on, let your junior sister temporarily stay by your side to lend you her assistance!"
Xuanyuan Huangdi was overjoyed and said, "Thank you so much, Saint Master!" He had witnessed Nüwa's cultivation earlier, and with her by his side to assist him, he was naturally ecstatic.
Kong Xuan shook his head and said: "This is the teacher's intention, why should you thank me?"
Xuanyuan Huangdi heard this and turned around to head east to Fangzhang Island in the East Sea, bowing down to say: "Xuanyuan thanks you for the kindness of Holy Father!"
Kong Xuan nodded, and said to the crowd: "Since that's the case, I'll take my leave!" After finishing speaking, he bid farewell to everyone one by one, and left. The girl, however, stayed in the human tribe.
Kong Xuan took a shortcut through the clouds and arrived at the Chaotic Void in no time, following the route etched in his memory to Qingxu Heaven.
When he arrived at Hongyuan's bamboo house, he saw that Hongyuan was sitting on the cloud bed with his eyes closed, as if he were hiding and revealing himself at the same time. The aura surrounding him was obscure and difficult to discern, yet it seemed perfectly natural, a contradictory yet inevitable sight!
"Disciple Kong Xuan pays his respects and says: 'Teacher, may your sacred life be boundless!'"
Hong Xuan opened his eyes, and at this moment, he saw that his eyes were boundless, the Great Way was evolving, profound and mysterious beyond compare. Kong Xuan was shocked, as if he had gained some insight. After a long time, Hong Xuan's eyes returned to their usual calm and distant color, like autumn water.
Hong Xuan gazed silently at Kong Xuan for a long time, then came down from the cloud bed and said to Kong Xuan: "You follow me in!" After speaking, he went into the bamboo house first. Kong Xuan also followed him in.
As soon as he entered, he felt a distant and quiet breath emanating from the large "Dao" character on the main hall, and Kong Xuan's heart, which had been racing since his return to the human world, suddenly calmed down.
Hong Xuan sat on a cushion in the middle and pointed to another cushion one zhang away from him, saying to Kong Xuan: "Sit down!"
Kong Xuan responded with a sound, and immediately sat cross-legged on the mat in front of Hongyuan.
Hong Xuan looked at Kong Xuan and said: "Do you have any enlightenment on this trip?"
Kong Xuan nodded and replied: "In response to Master's words, this disciple has gained some understanding on this trip!"
Hong Xuan smiled slightly and said: "You come with me for now!"
The Master of the Valley thought for a moment, then said: "The Way encompasses all numbers and is not large; it pervades the smallest hair and is not small. It precedes emptiness and is not considered the beginning; it follows heaven and earth and is not considered the end. It rises with the clear yang and is not considered bright; it sinks with the heavy yin and is not considered dark. Originally, there was no spirit, but the ultimate void gave birth to spirit. Originally, there was no breath, but the movement of spirit transformed into breath. Breath originally had no substance, but condensed and became form; form originally had no emotion, but moved and changed with nature. When form and nature move, they deviate from the Way. Therefore, being trapped in life and death, shifting between yin and yang, unable to stop, is not the preservation of the Way, but its destruction. Thus, the Way can create something out of nothing; how could it not make something equal to nothing? If something equals nothing, then something will not be destroyed."
Hong Xuan nodded in satisfaction, praising: "Kong Xuan, you're great, you're indeed a talented cultivator. It's rare for you to understand this level, but since you are my first disciple, it's time for you to find your own way!" After speaking, he let out a soft sigh, his gaze piercing through countless spaces, looking towards the distant horizon, lost in thought!
Kong Xuan was filled with doubts, wondering why his teacher would say such things today. He wanted to ask questions, but just then Hongyuan suddenly had a celebratory cloud the size of a mu field appear on his head. The cloud was clear as water and had three flowers on it, which hung down with white lotus flowers floating around him. A clear sound came from the three flowers, and a fist-sized pearl slowly rose up from them. The pearl emitted a faint, mysterious aura that seemed to be operating along some kind of mystical, inexplicable trajectory on the three flowers.
Kong Xuan was shocked, not knowing what it was. But then Hongyuan opened his mouth and said: "This pearl is called the Hundun Pearl, which is a treasure of the same level as Pangu's heavenly axe and the creation jade slip. It contains the great way of Hundun, and its power can suppress Hundun!"
Kong Xuan was shocked upon hearing this, never expecting that this small pearl would have such an extraordinary origin!
Hong Xuan said, "The three great treasures of the Primordial Chaos are born from the Great Dao. The Heaven-Opening Axe opened up the sky and earth; the Jade Tablet of Creation contains 3,000 Great Daos within it, and our teacher used it to merge with the Dao and achieve the Heavenly Dao. This Primordial Pearl also has its own function."
Kong Xuanqi asked: "Teacher, what is the function of this Chaos Pearl?"
Hong Xuan fell silent after hearing this, the colors in his eyes changing constantly. After a long time, he said: "It's not yet the time for you to know, no need to ask again!"
Kong Xuan heard the words and fell silent, since Hongyuan said so, it was clear that it wasn't time for him to know yet.
Hong Xuan said to Kong Xuan, "Between heaven and earth, the Tao is everywhere, there are countless ways, but I take only one. Everyone has their own way. You too, you should have your own way. As a teacher, I have achieved today's cultivation thanks to the help of the Hunyuan Pearl. You have already beheaded two corpses, now you can enter the inner world of Hunyuan and comprehend the great Tao of Hunyuan. How much you can comprehend depends on yourself!"
Kong Xuan heard this and calmly knelt down to the ground, saying: "Your disciple thanks you, Master, for your kindness!" His face showed no sorrow or joy.
Hong Xuan nodded in satisfaction with Kong Xuan's performance, such a state of mind that is not pleased by material things and not saddened by personal losses is exactly what a true cultivator of the Great Way should possess.
Only to see a chaotic light suddenly shot down from the Chaotic Pearl and enveloped Kong Xuan, instantly sucking him in. Hong Xuan immediately put away Qingyun, stood up and walked out of the bamboo house, looking at the lively creatures on the island, a smile floated on his face.
Kong Xuan, I hope you won't let your teacher down!
It is: Only by seeking the Great Way can one know the path, and seek the ultimate truth within the chaotic pearl!
