Chapter 4 Fruit
(New book surging in rankings, support needed, vote for it!)
In the Tianyi dynasty, many of the characteristics of "bookworms" were very obvious, no more than two words: "dull" and "weak". "Dull" refers to personality; "Weak" is physical condition.
This is determined by their living habits and life experiences.
For his current weak and frail body, Chen Jianchen was very dissatisfied, so he formulated an exercise plan. Every morning after getting up, he would run in place in the room, do push-ups, etc., and then find opportunities to go out and practice Jeet Kune Do.
On the earth, he has been practicing Jeet Kune Do since he was 13 years old because of his infatuation with Bruce Lee. After more than ten years of practice, he dare not say that he has made great progress, but at least he can strengthen his body and have some combat skills, which is enough to deal with three or five ordinary men.
Now, due to physical weakness and lack of strength foundation, the previous skills cannot be brought out. However, he is confident that as long as he persists and perseveres, and trains his body well, everything else will fall into place.
The body is the capital of revolution.
This principle applies universally throughout the world.
He absolutely didn't want his body to be soft and weak, with no strength at all, let alone do any work, even the thing on the bed couldn't be done well, what kind of man is that?
But undoubtedly, exercising is a long-term plan.
Chen Jianchen first needs to be careful not to be seen by others, lest he startle and shock them; secondly, he must improve the quality of his food and drink, as the saying goes "people are made of iron, food is made of steel", if nutrition is not done well, how can one grow strong and tall?
The small woods were quiet and serene, especially in the cold winter days when there was basically no one who would come here without a reason; so he wasn't afraid of being seen, completely letting loose his hands and feet, punching with all his might.
Chen Xiangzhen advocates for a high degree of freedom in combat, so his boxing does not have any fixed routines or forms, but instead is characterized by freely flying fists and feet, with reckless abandon.
As he hit, he gradually became more and more into it, even involuntarily imitating Bruce Lee's signature call, shouting out loud. "Oh oh oh", but because of his hoarse throat, it sounded a bit awkward.
Bang!
At the height of his excitement, he suddenly punched a tree trunk as thick as an arm beside him; but the tree trunk didn't move at all, and he was hit by a severe pain that surged into his heart, so painful that he gritted his teeth, and when he looked at his fist again, it had already become swollen and bruised with faint blood seeping out.
This body is really too poor.
Chen Jianchen's face revealed a bitter smile. However, he also knew that such things cannot be accomplished overnight and must be gradually improved and adjusted in order to nurture his body back to health.
This is by no means an easy task, and it's even more difficult than passing the imperial examination. After all, without relevant conditions, how can one achieve good health just by talking about it?
Chirp! Chirp!
At this moment, a familiar cry sounded from the right side. Chen Jianchen looked up and saw a pure white figure appearing there elegantly.
That little white fox!
Chen Jianchen was taken aback, and before he could think much, the white fox hopped and jumped over, stopping only when it was a few feet in front of him. Suddenly, it opened its mouth and spat out something that had been held in its jaws.
It was a pale red fruit, about the size of a ping-pong ball, not particularly round in shape, somewhat like a plum, but Chen Jianchen had never seen anything like it in his past or present life.
Hush!
The little white fox humanely pointed to the fruit on the ground with one of its front paws, seemingly telling Chen Jianchen to pick it up and eat it. Unfortunately, Chen Jianchen was already stunned at this time.
He had no choice but to stay.
He is indeed a traverser, but essentially always an ordinary person, with ordinary experiences and insights. When facing some strange events, he will inevitably feel surprised and think wildly.
What he is thinking about most now is whether this little white fox is a fox spirit or not.
Chirp! Chirp!
The white fox let out a third cry, seeing that Chen Jian still didn't move, it could only shake its head and quickly turn to leave, as if an uninvited guest who had reluctantly departed. With an innate wariness of unfamiliar lands, it dared not linger for long.
On the ground, that fruit was right before one's eyes.
"What's going on here?"
Chen Jianchen looked in the direction where the white fox had left, then looked at the fruit that was left on the ground, and felt quite surprised. He thought to himself: Could it be that the white fox has acquired human nature, and in order to repay my kindness of saving its life, it specially brought this fruit to give to me?
But what kind of fruit is this?
Thinking so, he couldn't help but bend down and pick up the fruit.
The fruit is very fresh, looking like it was just picked. When you sniff it, there's a sweet fragrance that permeates your lungs, and on the surface, a layer of light red gloss flows like ripples on water, warm and full.
This shouldn't be an ordinary fruit.
Smelling the sweet fragrance, Chen Jianchen couldn't help but drool three feet, almost putting the fruit into his mouth and swallowing it in one bite, only to stop at the last minute.
"No, although the white fox doesn't seem to have any ill intentions, it's still better to be cautious about this matter..."
He soon had a little idea, and ran back home with the fruit. He ran fast, but didn't see the white fox peeking out from behind a tree, watching him leave. The white fox's mouth was slightly curved into a beautiful arc, as if feeling wronged, a kind intention misunderstood.
Chen Jianchen returned home, washed the fruit clean, and then carefully cut off a small piece with a knife to feed the old hen at home. After observing for a while, he confirmed that the old hen had no signs of poisoning, so he put his mind at ease and ate the fruit in his mouth.
The pulp is crisp and sweet, very delicious, with an aftertaste that lingers on. After finishing one, Chen Jianchen's heart was filled with a burning desire to eat another one.
This intense and inexplicable desire made his heart skip a beat, he quickly washed his face with cold water, only then did he slowly suppress it.
At this time, Chen Jianchen certainly knew that Guozi was not an ordinary object, but he didn't know what its function was.
Just as he was indulging in wild thoughts, his stomach suddenly growled loudly, like a big pot of water boiling inside. Chen Jian's face changed color, showing a strange expression, and he rushed into the latrine, hastily unbuttoning his pants, before he could even squat down properly, whoosh, it sounded like a dam breaking, as foul-smelling feces gushed out, immediately followed by a wave of pungent odor that spread far and wide...
"I can't take it anymore!"
Before long, Chen Daxiu's face turned pale and he hastily escaped from the latrine with one hand pinching his nose and the other holding up his pants. Fortunately, there was no one around, otherwise his indecent behavior would have been criticized by others.
That day, apart from setting a new record with ease, Chen Jianchen also broke out in a big sweat, sticky and uncomfortable, clinging to his clothes, but his mood was soaring.
Excreting waste and removing impurities - to put it simply, after squatting on the toilet and sweating profusely, Chen Jian felt that his body had undergone a mysterious transformation, as if he had been reborn, filled with vigor and vitality. His spirit was like a dusty mirror that had been wiped clean in an instant, radiating unprecedented clarity and freshness.
So cool it's flying.
Is that fruit really the legendary celestial fruit?
Chen Jianchen was delightedly suspicious, he had a hunch that this magical fruit might change his life as a traverser.
