Volume 2: Ren Ping Sheng Chapter 37: Heart Disease

Feeling the warm and intimate aura on his body, Chen Jianchen's whole being was like being under a warm and sunny day, clear and relaxed. He had an epiphany and finally understood the key to cultivating the "Three Stances True Chapter", which could be described in four words: firmness, uprightness, penetration, and clarity.

"The word 'gang' means that as a person, one should be strong and resolute, possess strength, and have the heart to fight bravely. It is not about being boastful or just good at talking, like a bookworm who only knows how to move his lips. There are sayings that go 'a scholar with no practical use' and 'even a talented scholar will fail in rebellion after three years'. These are all because of their weak and gentle nature, lacking the strength to even tie up a chicken, which is why they can never accomplish great things."

With a strong and upright energy, one has confidence and is not afraid of threats or harm from others.

"Upright" means that one must stand upright, with a broad and open mind, not taking any crooked or deviant paths; with an upright heart, one is not afraid of shadows slanting, nor of ghosts knocking on the door at midnight.

"Tong" means to change and pass through.

When dealing with things, being too straightforward and not knowing how to adapt to the situation can often lead to getting stuck in a difficult position. As the saying goes, "being too rigid makes one easy to break, being too soft makes one easy to collapse." It's necessary to be flexible and find a middle ground in order to find the most reasonable way to handle problems.

"Enlightenment" means understanding things and principles, distinguishing right from wrong, not following others blindly, going with the flow, and not being misled by appearances...

Cultivate the "Threefold True Scripture", condense and refine the righteous energy, none of the four can be missing. Upon reaching the realm of great accomplishment, one can cultivate a vast and majestic righteous energy that shakes off evil spirits for thousands of miles!

As soon as Chen Jianchen sorted out these thoughts and principles, he suddenly felt enlightened, with a clear feeling of opening up the clouds to see the bright moon. This is not something that can be understood by simply reading books.

Reading books is also about what kind of books you read, whether it's beneficial or harmful. In this regard, one should make choices and not blindly think that the more books they read, the better, which would lead to a misunderstanding.

For example, if you want to cultivate your moral character and achieve "uprightness, correctness, penetration, and enlightenment", but instead immerse yourself in the Four Books and the Classics that only exist for the imperial examination, how can you possibly attain "uprightness, correctness, penetration, and enlightenment"? The final result will be that you'll end up trapped in a cage, rigidified, and become a pedantic scholar who only knows how to spout phrases like "zi hou zhe ye" and drop book bags.

As for "going south by driving a chariot north", the horse cart is indeed running non-stop, but in the wrong direction, it will never reach its desired destination.

As a traverser, Chen Jianchen must see much higher, farther and more transparently than those white-haired and impoverished scholars in this dimension - if this dimension is a big cage, then Chen Jianchen is the person outside the cage. He didn't come out from inside, but he himself was born to be an existence outside the cage.

  That's the advantage.

Of course, the truth is that understanding is one thing, and putting it into practice is another. Otherwise, in the end, it will all be just empty talk. However, if you know beforehand and then recognize afterwards, with the guidance of reason, people can better grasp the direction and achieve "I reflect on myself three times a day", which can largely avoid going astray.

Chen Jianchen consistently practices boxing to cultivate his body, which is called "Gang"; being filial to his mother, keeping his promises, and not bullying others with his power, is called "Zheng"; not reading books to the death, is called "Tong"; being able to distinguish between the true nature of Yin Ning and Lang Yao, is called "Ming". All these signs indicate that he is on the right path.

He let out a long sigh, and Chen Jianchen looked around to find that the class had already ended, with all the students leaving in droves, except for him still sitting there in a daze.

"Luxian, you're also too diligent, when it's time to relax, you should still take a break."

At this time, Wang Fu ran over.

Chen Jianchen smiled and put it aside, neither affirming nor denying it.

The two walked out of the classroom together, just thinking about going to the cafeteria to eat, but saw Fan Siyan, who was guarding the college gate, walking over lazily and said: "Mr. Chen, someone outside is looking for you."

Fan Sui's original name was "Fan Hu", he came from a military background, due to some connections, he was able to leave the army and was arranged to work at Ming Hua Academy as a door guard.

Don't look at this small gatekeeper, it's a lucrative job, and it's also leisurely, it's a fat job.

This fellow Fan Siwan has grown fat and big-eared, his belly is even bulging out.

  Is anyone looking for someone?

Chen Jianchen was taken aback, and then thought that it might be Abao or his mother who had come, either to visit or because something had happened at home.

He had no peace of mind and hastily walked quickly towards the gate.

According to the rules of Ming Hua Academy, during school hours, outsiders are not allowed to enter the academy without approval, even if they are family members of students. They can only ask the gatekeeper to inform the student; and as for the students themselves, if they have not asked for leave, they are also not allowed to leave at will.

When Chen Jianchen arrived at the gate of the college, he saw Ah Bao pacing back and forth outside the door, looking somewhat anxious.

  "Abao, what's going on?"

  Chen Jianchen asked straightforwardly.

When she saw him, Ah Bao was overjoyed and her eyes reddened as she immediately said: "Liu Xian Ge, my mother is ill, seriously ill."

On that day, Chen Jianchen took Abao to his home to spend the days. At that time, Mo Sanniang said she would treat her as a close daughter, and it was considered to have a nominal goddaughter, so as not to provoke gossip from neighbors. Therefore, when addressing Mo Sanniang, Abao always called her "Dry Mother".

  Huh?

Chen Jianchen raised an eyebrow and asked calmly: "What's wrong with him?"

"I don't know either, my mother fell ill suddenly and was bedridden overnight, she couldn't eat or drink, her speech was unclear. I invited a doctor, the doctor said she had a stroke, but after taking medicine, there was no improvement. I had no choice but to rush to Jiangzhou to find you..."

It's a heart disease. But for no reason at all, how could Mo San Niang have gotten a heart disease?

Chen Jianchen vaguely thought of something: Could it be that the Yinsi is playing tricks again? Seeing that they can't deal with themselves, they go to deal with an old man?

What a sinister and ruthless means, in order to force people to bow their heads and surrender, sparing no effort, isn't it all just for the sake of a stick of incense?

Chen Jianchen's anger arose - he naturally knew that the so-called ghosts and gods in this realm were far different from those passed down through oral tradition, basically belonging to two separate concepts. Petty people are like ghosts, evil people are more ferocious than ghosts; conversely, how could evil ghosts be weaker than evil people? But he didn't expect them to resort to such tactics.

"I know, wait a minute, I'll go ask for leave first."

In the upper house, students asking for leave is relatively simple, just need to pay twenty cents as leave fee.

Soon, Chen Jianchen completed the formalities, hired a horse-drawn carriage, and rushed home with Ah Bao. In the carriage, Ah Bao said: "Actually, I arrived at the gate of the college early in the morning, but the doorman asked me for ten cents as a reporting fee. I didn't expect that this would also cost money, and since I left in a hurry without bringing enough, I had to run back to get it..."

Thinking of Ah Bao having no money, and because the matter was urgent, he would definitely beg Fan Sifu first, only to be refused, and then run back again. This round trip, I don't know how much more suffering and hardship he will have to endure.

As expected, you're quite a handful...
