Chapter Fifty-Four The Final Boss
Along the icy and bone-penetrating mountain valley, there is a narrow path that can only accommodate two people. The path is littered with rugged and disorderly rocks everywhere.
As Ling Luo's group moved forward step by step, the chill in the air on this small path also gradually dissipated.
Before entering the valley, there were more than ten people. When leaving, only five people were left, except for Ling Luoye, Hong Fei, Zhuang Luocheng, and Han Xiao. The others had only one person named Hong Qi, who seemed to be Hong Fei's man, as he silently followed behind Hong Fei all the time.
Because Mu Yi and Qin Ling both fell here, Ling Fei's mood was extremely heavy, not just him, but also the mood of others were almost the same.
"We've already entered the third layer, and I don't know how much further we have to go before we can pass through this third layer and enter that mysterious cultivation realm. Perhaps, the few of us who are left may all be buried here!" Ling Luoye sighed with a bitter smile.
"Yes! Brother Ling, it seems that our luck in the first two layers was indeed good, but now that we're on the third layer, I'm really not confident. Just one Ice Toad is enough to make us lose nearly half of our party, who knows what other things are waiting for us later?" Hong Fei shook his head and chimed in.
"Ah! What's the point of thinking so much! Whether I live or die, all I want now is to leave this damned place as soon as possible!" Zhuang Luochen exclaimed in frustration.
"Ah! Let's go! Maybe the boat will naturally reach the bridge!" The group of people spoke, but their feet didn't stop for a moment, instead speeding up by several degrees, heading towards the outside of the mountain valley.
The path was not long, just over an hour, and a group of people had already walked out of the valley and reached the end of the path.
The end of the small path was actually a suspension bridge, and under the suspension bridge was a deep abyss with swirling thick fog, which could not be seen at a glance. It was unknown how deep it was, but one thing was certain: among the people present, whoever fell would definitely die without a burial.
Standing in front of the suspension bridge, one can vaguely see a magnificent building standing solemnly on the opposite mountain cliff.
"There, that must be our destination! Because except for this small path, there is no other way to get there!" Seeing the majestic building, several people were visibly delighted.
"Not bad, we've passed that place, I suppose we can enter that mysterious cultivation realm now! However, this last hurdle shouldn't be so easy to pass, right?" The few people couldn't help but feel a little worried again.
"Let's go! Whether it's good or bad, we'll know once we're inside!" Ling Luoyu said with a faint smile.
"Ling brother, Zhuang brother, do you think they will play some tricks on this suspension bridge? If they do, we'll be dead and have no place to bury our bodies!" Looking at the terrifyingly deep abyss below the suspension bridge, Hong Fei couldn't help but hesitate.
Ling Luo's smile was faint, and he said: "Hong brother, in my estimation, they absolutely won't do such a thing, because they fundamentally don't bother with it. Why must you worry unnecessarily? If they really want us to die, perhaps just one person would be enough!"
"Is that so? How did Brother Ling know? Could it be that there is such a formidable person in this Tongxian's tomb?" Hong Fei and Zhuang Luocheng were clearly somewhat incredulous at Ling Luo's words.
"Not bad, indeed!" Ling Luoyu nodded his head. Others didn't know that he had truly witnessed Chen Kong's terror, which was something that human power couldn't deal with.
Although they were certain that the people of Tongxian's tomb would not take any action on the suspension bridge, the group still passed through it with caution, fearing that a single mistake might cost them their lives.
After crossing the suspension bridge, the majestic building finally appeared before everyone's eyes. It turned out to be a Taoist temple, but what was strange was that it was desolate and overgrown with weeds up to one's knees in front of the temple gate.
Although so, the golden plaque hung horizontally at the gate of the Taoist temple is still clearly visible, with three large characters "Wan Miao Guan".
"If this is really the last pass, why is it so desolate? Hasn't anyone been here for a long time?! Then can't we just easily get through here?" The group of people couldn't help but feel a thrill in their hearts, but immediately became suspicious again.
The main gate of the Taoist temple was wide open, and the grand hall directly opposite the gate could be seen at a glance. Inside the gate was a courtyard with an area of hundreds of square meters. On both sides of the courtyard were rows upon rows of densely packed wing-rooms, with at least dozens of rooms in sight.
In the courtyard, weeds grow again.
The magnificent palace, dozens of houses, everything shows that this place was once full of vitality, but why is it so desolate now?
Entering the Taoist temple gate, walking through the courtyard with no weeds, a group of people went straight to the main hall of the temple.
Ling Luo's eyebrows furrowed suddenly, because he caught a whiff of alcohol, mixed with the smell of roasted meat. For this period of time, not one person had drunk wine, let alone eaten roasted meat.
He glanced at the desolate grand hall and Ling Luo shouted in a low voice: "Be careful, there's someone inside the grand hall!"
"Now that you're here, come on in! Don't be so cautious, just a few small crawling creatures, if I wanted to kill you, I would do it openly and fairly!" The grand hall's large doors suddenly opened automatically, and a voice floated directly into everyone's ears.
Ling Luo and several others exchanged a look of shock, gritted their teeth lightly, and walked into the grand hall.
In the grand hall, there was only one person, who appeared to be a young Taoist priest. He wore a spotless white Taoist robe that seemed to have not a single speck of dust on it.
That Taoist was smiling lightly, looking like a celestial being with a strong aura of righteousness, but somehow, Ling Luoye felt a faintly eerie and dangerous aura from that Taoist, similar to the stench of a rotting corpse.
From the moment I stepped into the grand hall entrance, that feeling grew stronger and stronger.
"Get away from him! The farther the better!" Ling Luoyu's intuition told him that this person was absolutely a very dangerous figure.
Munching on the roasted meat in his hand, he picked up the wine jug and took a few sips. The Taoist priest raised his head and slowly spoke: "Although my third layer has been empty due to certain reasons, you have managed to kill the Green Lizard and arrive here, which is indeed unexpected! However, since you've arrived, you can't leave now!"
That young man was still smiling faintly, but his tone of voice had turned cold and gloomy.
"There are two paths before you: either surrender to me or die!" The young Taoist continued, seemingly nonchalant.
Everyone's face changed, and Hong Fei angrily said: "Since you say so, it seems that you are sure to kill all five of us!"
"Don't believe it? Try it then!" The young Taoist remained calm as ever.
Hong Fei swept his gaze over the remaining few people, without saying a word. As for that young Daoist's strength, Hong Fei didn't dare to try lightly either.
"Let me!" The previously silent Hong Qi stepped forward a few steps and struck at the young Taoist with his knife.
"Really, there are people who don't know death or life daring to come up!" The young Taoist's eyes suddenly opened wide, and a golden electric arc burst out of his eyes.
"Boom!" With a loud noise, Hong Qi fell to the ground, his entire body charred by the electric arc.
"What kind of martial arts is this!" Hong Fei, Zhuang Luo dust sucked in a cold breath, staring at the young Taoist in shock.
