Chapter 30 The Generals Manor (Part 2)

Chapter Thirty: The General's Manor (Part 2)

The outside is so chaotic, how can the inside be quiet. Someone had already set out from the back door to report the news. The rest began to protect their families, only a few people dared to stick their heads out to see what was going on.

Qin Yifan sat in the main seat in the living room, watching the fight in the courtyard. Qin Xiaoling stood alone at the door, and none of her guards could take a step forward. Lin Qiulü stood inside the door of the living room, smiling as she watched outside, ready to give anyone who tried to escape a distant warning shot. In short, these guards were trapped in the courtyard, unable to advance or retreat, and could only wait for Qin Xiaoling's fists to take care of them one by one.

She turned her head, a young maid secretly poked out a little bit of her head from the side hall, wanting to see what had happened, and collided with Qin Yifan's gaze, startling her on the spot. Her feet wanted to move, but she found that for some reason, she was unable to command her own body, as if all her energy had been sucked away by Qin Yifan's glance. She could only stand still, her whole body trembling with fear.

Qin Yifan smiled kindly, unintentionally scaring a little maid in the Lao family. Seeing this warm smile, the little maid suddenly felt that her body belonged to herself again, and she quickly shrank back. However, she still couldn't help but be afraid, taking several long breaths, one small hand patted her own chest several times, still unable to stop her heart beating like a drum.

A gentle voice suddenly came from beside his ear: "Guests come to the door, don't you know how to serve tea? The people in General's mansion aren't so impolite, are they?" The voice was not loud, but it seemed to ring out right next to his ear.

The little maid was shocked, but immediately attracted by the gentle tone, vaguely feeling that the person outside was not so scary after all. However, his clothes were really rustic, and he looked like a country bumpkin from who-knows-where.

She stealthily poked her head out and took another look, Qin Yifan was nodding in this direction. The little maid hurriedly shrank back, not daring to take another peek. However, subconsciously she felt that the person's words seemed right, when a guest comes to the door, they should be offered a cup of tea, even if it's an unwelcome guest?

Suppressing the fear in her heart, the little maid went to the back of the inner room. Inside, someone had already heard the commotion from the front and had run away cleanly. Fortunately, the tea set and tea leaves were all ready, so she quickly brewed a pot and, trembling with fear, carried it up, stuttering as she poured a cup for Qin Yifan before hastily retreating back downstairs.

The general's troops were on their way back to the mansion when they suddenly heard a report from a family member who had rushed out of the back door, saying that three unidentified people were wreaking havoc in the general's mansion, not only forcibly breaking into the middle gate but also injuring many attendants. The general was furious at once. How could this be tolerated? When did the general's mansion become a place where these evil spirits dared to run amok?

Without General's order, those attendants immediately rode horses and rushed to the scene. Did this small matter still need General to take action personally?

After all, the general is still a commander, not so impulsive. Whoever dares to be so arrogant in the capital city's General's Mansion is definitely not an ordinary person. He stopped the actions of his attendants, and while hurrying back, he asked his family for details.

Involving the reputation of Generalissimo, the family members who ran out were also very cautious and did not dare to loudly proclaim it. Now, apart from Generalissimo's group, outsiders still do not know that something unexpected has happened at the General's residence.

"How surprising, General, you who have always been so arrogant and domineering in the capital, yet someone dares to cause trouble at your residence?" Just as the General was about to turn around, a strange and eerie voice suddenly came from beside him, sounding as if its owner had heard that the General was being provoked and was delighted.

Upon hearing this voice, the general's face seemed to turn even uglier: "Li's matter, don't you worry about it." He coldly snorted, didn't even glance at the person who made the sound, and rode his horse away.

The people on the other side of the intersection who just happened to hear what had happened were also smiling, rarely hearing that someone with the surname Li was being bullied, and they were very happy. Putting down the curtain, he stomped his foot: "Lift the sedan chair, go to General's mansion to see the excitement! Hurry up, don't miss the excitement!"

The general, who had been leading the way, was extremely annoyed. As soon as he arrived at the gate, he noticed something unusual about the guards outside. "Wake them up!" He shouted, jumping off his horse and rushing into the mansion.

The chaotic scene in the courtyard made the general even angrier. Before entering the inner court, he shouted loudly: "Who dares to be so presumptuous at Li's residence!" With a long arm, he had already pulled out a dagger from one of his guards who didn't have time to draw their weapon, and strode towards the inner court.

The scene in the courtyard was even more infuriating than at the gate, with nearly a hundred attendants frozen in place within the yard. The ground was littered with scattered blades and bodies lying or sitting about. At the entrance to the living room, there stood only one woman shrouded entirely in black mourning attire, silently standing there.

Although nothing was said, the attitude of entering as if no one was there made the attendants who followed the general furious. Without waiting for the general's instructions, they immediately rushed up. The black-clothed woman at the door did not show weakness either, waving her fists and fighting in a flurry.

In just a few exchanges, the general behind had already seen through the black-clothed woman's moves. To be strict, the black-clothed woman didn't know any martial arts, she was just born with immense strength, relying on the treasure robe on her body that made her immune to knives and guns, not caring about the surrounding attacks, only attacking single-mindedly. The people who charged forward were too many, the space was limited, wanting to dodge and weave but having no place to do so, could only harden against the black-clothed woman's attack.

It seems that the black-clad woman did not intend to kill, and her punches only sent people flying, but after falling to the ground, they could still move around, and even those who were injured and vomiting blood were rare. After taking a few glances, the general's face sank as he let out a loud shout: "Withdraw!"

Those who had not fallen to the ground retreated in an instant. The general, leading his troops, was always strict and never made exceptions, even for those closest to him. With a loud voice that could be heard for miles, he shouted: "Who are you, daring to cause trouble at Li's residence?"

The general spoke, with a dignity that came from long being in a position of power. He himself had an aura of killing intent, or else he wouldn't have been sent by the emperor to quell the land of brutal slaughter. Standing there, majestic and awe-inspiring, without even getting angry, he was intimidating: "If you were instigated by someone, or ordered by someone, speak up now, and I can spare your life. Otherwise, you will be executed!"

As soon as the general spoke, the guards behind him immediately followed with a loud shout: "Kill without mercy!" The atmosphere was filled with murderous intent, and if it were someone timid, just this aura would be enough to make their heart skip a beat.

"Isn't it just coming in for a cup of tea? Why be so nervous?" A gentle voice suddenly came from the living room, calm and unhurried, without any panic.
