Chapter Eighty-Four: Each Displays Their Abilities
"Welcome!" Yue Poyu's face was stern, and a burst of air shot out from his nose. Suddenly, the whole person moved, with light footsteps turning around. From the ankle to the knee, waist, and spine, like a dragon, the movement was soft and smooth, like flowing clouds and water. The two hands parted and merged, like embracing a swallow, but then suddenly moved again, single-handedly exerting force, as if whipping out a tens-of-kilograms heavy steel whip in mid-air, and swiftly withdrawing it back.
But it is a move of Wudang true transmission "Tai Chi Thirteen Postures" - "Single Whip. Hook Hand."
Tai Chi was originally a way of life for ancient Taoists to cultivate their inner energy, and Wudang Mountain is the birthplace of Tai Chi, the ancestral home of internal martial arts. Naturally, there is a set of secret boxing techniques passed down from generation to generation, which is completely different from what is commonly known as Chen-style, Yang-style, or other forms of Tai Chi in the outside world.
In this case, "Single Whip" exists in many Tai Chi schools, and even in the Ming Dynasty, Qi Jiguang's "Ji Xiao Xin Shu" has 32 forms of boxing, including Single Whip. However, although various Tai Chi schools have Single Whip, they are different from each other. Only Wudang Mountain's original "Taiji Thirteen Forms" has the most abundant and ingenious use of Single Whip.
One single whip movement almost contains all the principles of Tai Chi.
Nowadays, there are countless people practicing Tai Chi, but those who can truly master the Single Whip movement like Yue Fei and grasp its underlying principles are extremely rare.
Her figure was as agile as a dragonfly skimming the water, her arms swung like steel whips descending from above. Her arm drew an arc like a wave, and with a whooshing sound, it was as if the "bullet train" had suddenly accelerated, creating a shockwave in the air that sent the wind swirling around her, blowing fiercely enough to rustle the clothes of Lei Ting and Zhang Xiu'er, who were standing over a dozen steps away.
With a flick of the wrist, a loud crack echoed out, the sound following the movement of the hand. The air at the tip of the fingers seemed to vibrate violently, like a speeding car suddenly having all four tires blow out.
Moreover, Yue Po's whip is not purely rigid and fierce, but rather a divine whip with nine sections of thin steel wire wrapped around it. With one swing, he uses the most authentic "whip power." He starts from the soles of his feet, connecting to his knees, waist, and hips, then stimulates his spine, causing his shoulders, elbows, forearms, and wrist bones to swing out like a whip. His fingers are like the tip of a whip, covering various techniques such as wrapping, binding, striking, and colliding with a single sweep.
The whole person is like an arc-shaped curve rooted in the ankle, dominated by the waist, and rotating through the arm and fingers.
The vigorous and gentle movements are intertwined, like the rotation of yin and yang, each section is connected, and it's a perfect combination. Just by looking at this one move, Wang Chan knew that the head of the National Security Bureau in front of him had profound skills in boxing that were immeasurable, truly unstoppable for anyone who tried to block it.
Although Tai Chi is practiced with the softest movements, it emphasizes using softness to overcome strength, four ounces moving a thousand pounds, but that's just the health practice in Tai Chi, for cultivating one's body and nature, tempering true internal energy, not the actual "fighting method" of Tai Chi.
All those who have mastered the authentic Tai Chi, when they engage in combat with others, are the world's top-notch fierce and overbearing experts. Just like the five-road punching method in Tai Chi boxing, it also imitates the skills of ancient generals who were good at using punches to kill people, evolving from their techniques.
In the era of cold weapons, the heaviest weapon in the army was the big iron hammer. Throughout history, anyone who could wield two large hammers as a weapon was also a super strong general who was crowned with bravery among the three armies.
Tai Chi has both yin and yang, with softness giving birth to hardness. The more you practice being soft and natural in daily life, the more you can control your own power and that of your opponent during combat, and burst forth with earth-shaking, extremely hard and powerful movements.
Ji Zhen was also strongly stimulated by Yue Po's intense aura, and his skin and muscles instantly turned a dark bronze color. His tendons and bones bulged out of his skin, forming a dense network of lines that seemed to pulse with a faint silver light. This was because every part of his body, every meridian, was mobilizing his qi and blood, bursting forth with all his might.
Indeed, since coming down from the mountain, no opponent has ever been able to make Wang Chan burst out with such intense internal energy, without any reserve, going all out. Not even when his master was still alive could anyone provoke such a strong fighting spirit within him. But now, facing this man who sits in the position of power, holding the lives of countless people in his hands, National Security Director Yue Po Xu, casually throws out a single whip hook hand from Tai Chi Fist, giving Wang Chan a feeling as if time has flowed backwards, and he is back in the capital city over a hundred years ago, facing Yang Luchan, the undefeated master of the capital.
Yang Wudi of Beijing a hundred years ago, today's Director of National Security Bureau Yue Poxu.
This man was in his prime, with a robust physique and skilled in the Wudang Neijiaquan, which is renowned for its health benefits. Normally, he appeared gentle and refined, but once he started moving, his aura was no less impressive than Wang Chan's. Moreover, Wang Chan keenly sensed that within Yue Po Xu's boxing technique, there existed a spirit akin to a sharp sword unsheathing, shooting straight up into the sky. Although he was merely practicing fist techniques, his entire being seemed to transform into an invincible treasured sword, with his fists merging into swords.
No martial art is born perfect, all have to go through several generations or even dozens of generations of continuous improvement and modification, one move at a time. Every seemingly useless action and technique contains the lifelong dedication and hard work of countless generations of great masters.
Wang Zhen's Thirteen Guards horizontal smelting kung fu does not belong to the pure martial arts boxing method, but is passed down from the cold weapon era, the period of great chaos with thousands of troops and horses. Galloping horizontally on the battlefield, the killing technique that can defeat ten times its own strength, every move and style is created to maximize the damage to human life and protect oneself.
A man should be a killer, killing without leaving any emotions. An eternal and immortal achievement, all lies in killing people.
When a man is going on an expedition, he should be bold and resolute. In dealing with others, there are two things which will not do: (one) to stand in awe of them, and (two) to be afraid of them.
A man's affair is on the battlefield, with a heart like a bear and eyes like a wolf.
This is Wang Zhen's Boxing Spirit.
Yue Po Hu himself was a top-notch swordsman, although he practiced both fist and sword, with each complementing the other. However, his swordsmanship was even more formidable, with a stronger killing intent. At his age, it's unknown how many years he had spent practicing sword techniques on Mount Wudang. Now that his martial arts skills were fully developed, he abandoned his sword and passed it down to his only disciple, Song Jie. Yet, he never put down the sword in his heart, which was filled with a strong sense of sword intent within his fist technique spirit.
A man is like a sword, his heart is like a sword. If he hadn't cultivated his fist and sword techniques to an admirable level, he would absolutely be unable to merge his boxing spirit with the intent of his sword, striking out a perfect blend of "sword" and "fist".
Wang Chan exerted himself, focusing all his energy, flying forward with a crash, his skin and hair standing on end, his blood rushing to his face. He faced Yue Po Wu's magnificent form, his fists seeming to embody the spirit of Tai Chi, yet also like a sword intent. Without thinking, he didn't dodge or evade, but instead pressed down with his body, not changing his original stance, shaking his arm like a spear to meet Yue Po Wu's whip-like hand, and directly clashed with it.
At the same time, his shoulders shook violently. His body leaned forward, and his feet stomped fiercely on the ground.
With a loud crash, the whole person seemed to have shrunk by an inch. It turned out that his feet had exerted force, and one foot actually stomped and shattered the ground beneath him, causing his body to suddenly sink more than half a foot.
The Thunder's courtyard was originally a villa for a powerful prince of the Qing dynasty to escape the summer heat in the suburbs, and almost all the ground was paved with half-foot thick bluestone slabs. Even after experiencing two hundred years of wind and rain, the entire courtyard had been renovated several times, but not a single stone slab had ever broken. But now it has been shattered by Wang Chan's one kick, and his foot can be seen to have kicked it with great force.
Whoa! Under the full contact of their arms, Yue Po's body shook, and one arm was like a steel whip without bones, wrapping around Wang Chan's small arm. His feet moved, and a piece of bluestone on the ground suddenly cracked open. But the Wudang internal fist he practiced encompassed everything, and his footwork was much stronger than Song Jie's. As soon as he felt his feet go soft, he quickly turned his body, his toes hooked onto the ground, and with a few pattering steps, he followed the momentum, avoiding Wang Chan's "Body Stick" move like flowing water.
Immediately, without even a change of breath. Both hands rose, heels like an axis, as if spinning a top, the two hands seemed to be connected by a thin thread, one hand moving and the other following, with the body's rotation, flying up and down, left and right. It was still a single whip quick strike, like a double fish game, moving like a mad wind.
He has practiced the thirteen postures of Wudang Taiji to the point of being completely absorbed in it, using only a single whip stroke to strike out in succession. With changes underneath, it seems as if he has merged the essence of the entire Taiji fist into it, with one breath and each section connecting seamlessly.
A single whip is like a hook, like a snake emerging from a cave! As the saying goes, "a single whip, one word, two-headed snake bites people." When coming from the left, strike with the left, when coming from the right, strike with the right, and when coming from the middle, both hands strike together. It seems that the arm is even more fierce than two steel whips.
。
Yue Po Xu's arm swung open, still three or four feet away from the ground, and the gusts of wind brought up by him had already slapped against the ground, making a sound like a string of firecrackers, crackling and popping, sending the broken blue stones that the two of them had trampled into fragments rolling wildly across the ground.
As if one by one, invisible whips, invisible swords!
"Get back, it's far away!"
Yue Po Xu's powerful strike made Lei Feng and Chen Xiu'er, who were not far away, tremble with fear, their faces pale and uncertain. Even if there was a wall in front of him, Yue Po Xu would still use his whip to smash it into smithereens.
Although there were still ten or twenty steps away, Yue Pojun was also targeting Wang Chan. He suddenly exerted his strength, and the whip wind still inevitably affected Lei Feng and the other two people. Even with his current skills, under the protection of the Iron Shirt, he still felt the super terror of the two men's confrontation. In a hurry, he pulled Chen Xiuer back, retreated, circled around Lao Da, ran to Wang Chan's back, and dragged out the seriously injured and unconscious Song Jie.
These two giants were really terrifying, with their powerful auras surging around them like the ebb and flow of the tide. With every movement, massive gusts of strong winds would rise up, and with each swing of their arms or lift of their feet, the air would be struck with loud cracking sounds, like firecrackers exploding. As they drew closer, it was almost suffocating, making one's head spin and eyes dazzle.
What's more important is that the two people are fighting with great enthusiasm, their footwork is extremely fast, and with their skills, the true internal energy of the inner family flows through their meridians and pores. With just a casual push, they can retreat dozens of steps in an instant, their movements are incredibly fast. If you don't retreat to a safe enough place, being swept by either of them will get you severely injured, no matter how good your Iron Shirt protection is.
Additionally, at this time, Lei Feng was holding Song Jie to avoid him, but Wang Chan and Yue Po Xu had spoken before, the outcome was not yet decided. He didn't dare to casually take Song Jie away from the garden either.
Otherwise, heaven knows whether Wang Chan would have included Yue Po Xu, and chased after him. In Lei Feng's impression, this Wang Chan had always been someone who didn't follow common logic when making moves, anything could happen on his body. And in the midst of the intense fight, Wang Chan indeed glanced at Lei Feng out of the corner of his eye, causing a sudden jolt in Lei Feng's heart.
In those years, Xingyiquan master Guo Yunshen was put in prison for killing a local tyrant and had to wear heavy iron chains on his hands and feet, as well as a cangue around his neck. However, it was during this time that he created the "Bàn Bù Bēng Quán" (Half-Step Crushing Fist) which would later make him famous throughout the land. Regardless of your weight, defensive abilities, or whether you have practiced Iron Shirt, one punch from Guo Yunshen would send you flying.
It can be seen from this that Guo Yunshen's half-step Bajiquan has a fierce and powerful explosive force.
Now, Yue Po's two hands wielded a single whip, and as he swung it, it seemed to have a similar aura.
With one whip strike, the movement was as fast as lightning, and the person moved with the whip.
However, Wang Zhen was not afraid at all! And he didn't back down either! He actually withstood the violent and sudden attack of Yue Po Xu like a stormy rain, advancing hard and unobstructed, countering with offense against offense, and hardness against hardness.
Facing the opponent, a continuous whip-like hand movement, Wang Chan's palm clenched into an empty fist, also using one of the most powerful techniques in Shaolin Fist, "Cannon Fist".
The ancestor of Wang Daliang, at that time, was ordered by the Qing emperor to join forces with others to attack the Shaolin Temple in Putian, Fujian. However, he took advantage of the fire and stole many secret boxing manuals from the scripture storage building of the Shaolin Temple, not just the "Henglian" manual possessed by Wang Chan. Therefore, Wang Chan's refined boxing skills can also be considered as a descendant of the Shaolin Temple lineage.
This is the Shaolin Cannon Fist, which was created in the Song Dynasty and later evolved by Master Fu Ju of Shaolin Temple based on the eighteen families of short punches. It is known as the king of all Shaolin fists, with each move being fierce and unstoppable.
Wang Chan's fist method unfolded on this road, his hands and feet moved with the wind and sand, his fists were like cannons and his body was like a dragon, it was as if a cannonball had burst out of a large cannon.
One punch flew out, the sound of the cannon was loud and clear, his feet stomped on the ground, the recoil force trampled the stone slabs under his feet into pieces, just like an iron ox plowing. Wherever he passed, the ground was turned upside down.
Wang Zhen's physical strength was incredibly powerful. His immense power, combined with his rugged physique and iron-like bones, made his punches fierce and overwhelming. Each punch was relentless and unstoppable, like a collision of two hard objects, producing a deafening sound similar to thunder.
Moreover, a deep growl came from his throat, as if an evil tiger was roaring on the mountain peak.
Gradually, it turned out to be a counterattack with fist strength, pressing down on Yue Po Xu's linked whip hand, which was somewhat unmanageable.
"How can he be so bold and courageous? Looking at his fist technique, it seems to be the long-lost cannon fist frame of Shaolin. As a descendant of a sword immortal, how can his martial arts skills not be inferior to mine?"
Yue broke the whip with his hand and Wang Chan, the sound of their swords clashing rang out repeatedly. They exchanged blows for thirteen rounds, neither giving an inch. Suddenly, Yue felt a sharp pain in his forearm, and his breathing became labored. Startled, he dared not continue to exchange blows with Wang Chan, who was now fully roused. He quickly changed tactics, using both hands to grasp the sword hilt, his feet moving swiftly as he wove a complex pattern of punches and kicks, transforming his swordplay into the unique style of Wudang's paired swords.
Who would have known, he changed his move in an instant, Wang Chan reacted even faster than him. It seemed as if he had already anticipated that he would do so.
With a big stride forward, his body moved with his hands, transforming into two tiger claws, swiftly opening up, even faster than his usual single whip with both hands. Whoosh! It broke through the air, like a sharp blade hovering above one's head.
Whoosh! With a sudden movement, the air swept across his face, causing a stinging sensation. His eyebrows and eyes were pressed together by the force of the air, his eyelids closed, and he was on the verge of being stimulated to tears.
Yue Po Xu has been cultivating in seclusion for many years, and it's the first time he's encountered an opponent of the same level. With full force, he felt a bit powerless, feeling that every move was wrong, every move was wrong. Since switching to using a single whip as his sword technique, his entire aura had been suppressed by Wang Chan.
To turn the tide of defeat, one must have a resolute determination to break through the difficulties.
Just then, Wang Chan suddenly took a step forward, his body like an arrow, and rushed straight into the palace. He threw a punch that seemed to shoot out like a gun, unstoppable, directly at Yue Po's chest.
Yue Po's eyebrows and eyes jumped, he hastily manipulated his body shape, his spirit suddenly rose to an unprecedented state, first walking forward then suddenly retreating three or four meters away, shedding Wang Chan's 70% attack power. Immediately afterwards, with a burst of speed like flying electricity, he rushed back, five fingers spread open, three fingers closed together, transforming into the sword move "White Ape Presenting Fruit", a low-flying sword thrust, pointing towards Wang Chan's throat.
Yue Poyue was young when he studied martial arts at Wudang Mountain Middle School. When practicing sword fighting, he would often do so on the edge of a cliff thousands of feet high, chasing after monkeys in the mountains and stabbing them with wooden swords or birds that had fallen to the ground but were still alive. His mastery of swordsmanship far surpassed that of his disciple Song Jie. Now, as he moves about freely, leaping and bounding like a bird in flight, if only he had a truly precious sword in hand, he would likely be just like the legendary swordsmen of old, able to kill someone with a single step within ten paces, leaving no trail behind him for a thousand miles.
With their two men's boxing skills, to truly determine a winner or loser, it would be necessary to fight to the death. However, this is also not very realistic, as Yue Po Yu has a high position and great power, and cannot afford to lose his reputation by fighting with Wang Chan. Even if he falls behind, with his skills, at worst he can suffer some injuries and escape, secondly, there is no grudge between Wang Chan and Yue Po Yu, the reason why he wants to fight with the opponent is because of his disciple Song Jie secretly watching him practice, both sides have a prior agreement, just a small test of a few moves, not a matter of life and death.
Moreover, the two men's martial arts skills were actually not much different. If Wang Chan didn't use the Tai Bai Jing Qi to create a flying sword, he wouldn't have had the ability to kill an internal fist master in a short period of time.
So in this mysterious and subtle move, both of them had the intention of winning or losing with one move. With this one spear and one sword, both of them used all their skills and showed off their abilities.
Thank you all for your support, Lao Lu bows to you!!!
