Chapter 54: The Eve of the Great Calamity

Chapter 54: The Eve of the Great Calamity

Seven Ancestral Witches and two Great Demon Emperors' battle had reached a white-hot stage. Di Jun and Tai Yi, relying on the protection of the Lingbao treasure, launched a desperate attack without regard for their lives. The butcher sword in Di Jun's hand injured the true bodies of three Ancestral Witches. Upon seeing this scene, Emperor Jiang knew he must temporarily retreat to avoid the brunt of the attack and could not engage in a fight to the death with Di Jun. The Ancestral Witches, whose hearts were connected, simultaneously unleashed their strongest attacks. Gong Gong and Zhu Rong activated the origin of water and fire, and powerful torrents of water and flames rushed towards Tai Yi.

Taiyi didn't dare to be too careless, the Eastern Emperor's Bell emitted a faint golden light, blocking the attack. But unexpectedly, when Li Huo and Weak Water collided, they produced an astonishing explosion, forcing Taiyi to retreat.

At this time, Emperor Jiang shattered a piece of space beside Emperor Jun, instantly generating a strong suction force. Emperor Jun's body swayed and was unable to stand firm. If it weren't for the protection of the River Chart and Luo Book, Emperor Jun would have been sucked into another space.

The seven ancestral witches quickly left the battlefield, and Candle Nine urged on the power of time, slowing down Emperor Jun's and Taiyi's pace. The ancestral witches shook off Emperor Jun and Taiyi.

"Di Jun, you flat-haired beast! Grandfather is in a good mood, so I'll let you collect the bodies of your wife and child. Once Grandfather has some free time, he'll want your dog life!" Gong Gong shouted loudly, and the group of ancestral witches disappeared.

Di Jun did not have the heart to chase after them, and instead looked at the corpse of his child. His tiger-like eyes were filled with painful tears. Di Jun arrived in front of Xihe, bent down, and hugged his beloved wife.

Xihe was torn apart by Emperor Jiang's spatial power, her primordial spirit shattered, and she was already a dead person. However, as the Heavenly Empress, she had accumulated great merit and her last breath had not yet been exhaled. She stretched out her hand and pointed to her own abdomen, and two lines of clear tears fell from her eyes like broken pearls.

Di Jun suppressed his grief and took out a red gourd, knowing that his youngest son was inside. Xi He's mouth corners moved slightly, Di Jun saw it, she was asking about her own child.

"It's okay, Xia Shi is fine, don't worry." Before Emperor Jun could finish his sentence, the light in Xihe's eyes completely disappeared, and the goddess of Taiyin fell. Originally, Emperor Jun and Taiyi could have rushed to rescue their child before Xihe, no matter whether they could save him or not, as long as they rushed before Xihe, it would have been enough.

Who would have thought that Zhunti had detained the two demon emperors, and Xihe felt that her child was in trouble. The drive of motherhood made her come to Honghuang, where she died at the hands of Emperor Jiang. At this time, Emperor Jun's heart was already broken. Accompanying him for the longest time, apart from Taiyi, was Xihe. Thinking back to when they were together, singing and laughing, now separated by yin and yang, Emperor Jun's eyes became blurry with tears, just like any ordinary person.

Wutong half dead lonely bitter body, loving wife one thought one hurt spirit.

Di Jun opened the red gourd, releasing his only remaining child. Just now, in order to let Xihe leave with peace of mind, he didn't tell her that he could no longer feel any signs of life from his son, and was afraid that even this last child would not survive.

Di Jun held Xiao Jincheng in his arms, carefully examining him, and found that one of his son's legs had been pierced by the sun-shooting god's arrow. Originally, it wasn't a fatal wound, but the trouble was that the sun-shooting arrow had endless Geqi energy on its tip, which was gloomy and cold, just right to destroy Jincheng's body. Otherwise, the other nine princes wouldn't have died so easily.

Although the tenth prince avoided the fatal spot and did not die instantly like the other nine princes, his demon body was completely destroyed. The Golden Crow's primordial spirit and demon body shared the same origin as the sun, unlike ordinary cultivators whose bodies and spirits could be clearly separated. This characteristic should have given the Golden Crow the ability to control its powers at will, but it was now going to cost the tenth prince his life. His demon body was completely destroyed, and the killing energy had already corroded his primordial spirit, causing him to be on the verge of death, just one step away from having his soul scatter.

Di Jun took out the essence of the sun and moon, protected the primordial spirit of the tenth prince, didn't say a word, turned around and headed to the palace of the Queen of Heaven, Tai Yi collected the bodies of his ten nephews and followed Di Jun closely, rushing straight to the palace of the Queen of Heaven.

The play is about to end, but both the witch and the demon have neglected an important character, Hou Yi. As Hou Yi was on the verge of death, he was rescued by Di Jiang, after which he fell into a coma due to his severe injuries.

At this time, beside Hou Yi, a strange space crack appeared, quietly taking Hou Yi away. The great war was shocking and thrilling, but no one noticed the person who started it all.

At this time, Hou Yi was lying in the Eight Treasures Merit Pool on Mount Sumeru. The Eight Treasures Merit Pool was created by Zhunti based on the original dragon tribe's Dragon Pool, using seven treasures to refine the pool body, combining the collected Three Light Sacred Water with other pre-heavenly spiritual waters in the Qiankun Ding, taking countless time to practice, and had just been placed in front of the Heart Palace. Jieying also planted many lotus flowers in it, making the entire treasure pool look incredibly beautiful and mysterious.

Hou Yi was rescued and taken to the West, where he was placed in the Eight Treasures Merit Pool. Hou Yi had been severely injured by Xihe, with nearly half of his body shattered, but after shooting down the Golden Crow that brought disaster to Honghuang, he gained some merit, although not much, it was enough to save his life. Moreover, his original primordial spirit, which was born from merit, became much stronger, almost reaching the realm of a Mysterious Immortal.

After discovering Hou Yi's situation, Xi Wangmu was extremely satisfied. His combat power was approaching that of Zu Wu, and with the help of his primordial spirit, his future prospects seemed boundless. That's why she brought him back to the Western Regions.

Hou Yi was recovering peacefully in the pool, and the spiritual water along with the nourishment of the lotus flower made him recover extremely quickly. He was now sleeping soundly, emitting soft snores.

Maitreya couldn't help but laugh and said: "This younger brother of mine is living a life of ease, yet he wants Master and the others to watch him sleep."

Jieyin also smiled and summoned several disciples to his side, where he began to teach them about the great way of cultivation.

Among the disciples of Jieyin, Dashizhi had already reached the state of Daluo. Jieyin observed that Dashizhi's mind was stable and his character was firm, so he imparted to him the new Dharma that he had realized in his dream. The Medicine Master, Maitreya, Daylight, and Moonlight were all listening intently on one side. Although they felt that Jieyin's Dharma was somewhat impractical - what logic is there in attaining enlightenment in a dream? - the more they listened, the more they found this method to be wonderfully mysterious and profoundly subtle.

Prove the Tao in a dream, transform all things with your body in a dream, and deduce the operation of the universe's great Tao. As long as you can make the world in your heart run successfully, you will be successful. As your fantasy world in your heart becomes more perfect, your Tao will become higher and higher. In theory, if your world can change to the level of the Honghuang world, you will be on an equal footing with the Heavenly Tao. If your world is even more perfect and complete, you can surpass the Heavenly Tao, reach the ultimate, and even embody the Great Tao.

From nothingness to existence, profound and infinite, but the most important thing is that the mind of Tao is solid and perfect, without any deficiency. Otherwise, one will sink into the midst of all things, finding it hard to extricate oneself, being trapped in illusions, making it difficult to attain the Tao. The great momentum can first break through the trials of the Red Dust Golden Bridge, the mind of Tao is extremely resilient, just right for practicing this Dharma door, achieving the Great Tao.

Dà Shì Zhì heard the teacher's lecture on the Dharma gate and suddenly felt extremely suitable for himself, with boundless joy. His Dao Xing progressed rapidly, and others such as Yao Shī Mí Lè also benefited greatly from this path, even more so in reverence for the guidance of his cultivation. Even Zhuān Tí admired the elder brother's ingenious ideas.

The Great Calamity is imminent, and I'm afraid there's no place as peaceful as the West. Emperor Jun and Taiyi are now kneeling outside the door of Nuwa Palace, completely losing their dignity as the Demon Emperor. Emperor Jun is now just a man who has lost his wife and children, desperately searching for a last resort to save his son's life from impending doom.

Di Jun looked down on Nüwa, but at this critical moment, he could only pray for Nüwa's help. The life and death of the young child hung in the balance, and it was likely that only a saint had the means to reverse life and death. Observing all the saints, the two Western Saints were implicated in this tragedy and might be accomplices. The Three Pure Ones and the demon clan were also at odds, so it was possible that only Nüwa could lend a hand.

Di Jun had thought he would be like a king, completely disregarding the life and death of his son, considering his own dignity as the most important thing. However, he couldn't do it. Xi He seemed to be questioning him in his ear, asking why he didn't go to their son. The mournful cries made Di Jun go mad.

He abandoned his dignity, putting it under the feet of Nüwa, letting her trample on it, just to let his child have a way out, to be able to account for his deceased wife, and not to be condemned by his own conscience.

Nüwa saw the arrogant Demon Emperor finally bowing at her feet in the palace, and she couldn't help but feel a little pleased. However, what worried her more was the struggle between the witches and demons. Nüwa had already sensed the outcome of their mutual destruction, but she was not willing to give up. She wanted to preserve the power of the demon tribe, as long as Emperor Jun and Taiyi were bound by fate, these demons would all be hers. Completely controlling the fortune of a tribe was very important for Nüwa, relying on the fortune of both the demon and human tribes, she could ensure that she wouldn't be at the bottom among the saints, and have the right to speak.

Nüwa continued to observe the River of Fate, and unexpectedly discovered her brother Fuxi's fate. Nüwa originally wanted to save Fuxi, letting him take over as the ruler of the demon tribe in the future, but this plan was difficult to put into action. Nüwa thought of Emperor Jun and Taiyi outside the palace, and after rolling her eyes, she had another idea.

At this time, the Kunlun Mountains were not calm either. The Three Purities had already sensed that the cultivation of the two saints in the Western world might surpass their own, especially the Introduction was immeasurable. The one who was most disturbed by this was Laozi. Laozi had always thought that he was steadily ranked first among all the saints, but unexpectedly, he might not be able to compare with the Introduction. Therefore, as soon as he returned to the mountain, he closed his heart and retreated to cultivate the Great Law.

The Tongtian Sect Master was also moved, stroking the Four Swords of Extermination with one hand, carefully weighing his options in his mind, about to make a difficult decision.

Yuanshu Tianzun was the same, thinking hard and putting his attention on the operation of Qi. As long as he had strong Qi support, he could match or even surpass the saints. So how to strengthen one's Qi? The breakthrough point is in the interpretation of the teachings, and one must make their own sect stand out and suppress others.

How to expand the influence, it is necessary to work hard on the transmission of teachings, and have powerful disciples. Originally, the eyes were cast on the twelve immortals, from time to time gathering the twelve disciples, carefully transmitting the teachings, wanting to rely on them to contend for the aura of fortune.

The ending of the Great Calamity of the Witch was also anticipated by Yuanshi, who knew that after the Witch, it would be his turn. At that time, the twelve Golden Immortals would join forces and take down the Honghuang Qi Yun together. Yuanshi carefully calculated that although Laozi was powerful, he only had one disciple, so how could he compete with himself? The followers of Tongtian Sect were all shallow and couldn't bear the weight of great responsibility. The Western Buddhist's Jie Yin Quan Ti lived in seclusion and didn't interfere with human affairs.

After some deliberation, Lu revealed a satisfied smile.
