Episode 61: Trapped

  Chapter 61: Besieged

The ninth day of the Blood Moon's rise, the sky is hazy and bright!

Wulongsan, the entrance of the building where Junshi is located, more than 100 people gathered nearby, each with a dull expression, faceless, as if they were walking corpses.

Guan Ping and the others, originally twelve people in a row, now only eleven were left, surrounding the entrance of the building. On the ground among them was Hei Yan's head with blood all over his face, a living person who had lost his life in the blink of an eye.

Lan Mian's eyes were slightly red, Yun Fang's face turned pale as she looked away, several male disciples also couldn't help but turn their heads, with a thick sense of fear in their eyes, sniffing the bloody smell in mid-air, a layer of death shadow shrouded everyone's heart.

On the field, there are only four people who are still calm: Guan Ping, Yuan Yong, Shi Sheng, and Mu Qing.

Although Shi Sheng had some cunning elements on that day, the crowd didn't look down on him too much. However, if they were to really compete, everyone knew about Shi Sheng's true abilities. Not to mention Guan Ping, the crowd thought that Yuan Yong could also defeat Shi Sheng!

"Alas!" Shi Sheng sighed, even if a few bandits died, Shi Sheng didn't have much of a reaction in his heart, he just felt that those people deserved to die.

Although he was sneakily attacked by Hei Yan that day and offended Song Lao, after all, he was his fellow disciple. Now that he had to send him to his death, Shi Sheng couldn't help but feel a little sentimental, and in his heart, he no longer held any hatred towards him.

"To avenge Hei Yan, he absolutely cannot die in vain!" Lin Pangzi was no longer as carefree as before, and the gaze he cast into the great hall also carried a hint of caution.

"Not bad, Master Ping! Lead us to avenge Hei Yan!" Another youth clenched his fists tightly, his expression somewhat agitated, but apparently no longer looking down on martial artists like before.

"As expected, without the baptism of blood and the struggle between life and death, it's indeed difficult for one to grow!" Shi Sheng sighed silently, if Hei Yan had been more careful, perhaps this tragedy could have been avoided.

However, the previous task of Shi Sheng and three others was too easy, making everyone a bit careless. Moreover, all three of them had entered the bandits' room without any accidents, and Shi Sheng had also gone in alone. Now that he thinks about it, Shi Sheng realizes that he was also somewhat careless at first. Perhaps this is the benefit of experience.

"No wonder Old Liu kept warning us to be careful when we were descending the mountain, and even shook his head in sigh. It seems he had anticipated that there would be casualties. Since this is the case, you all don't have to be too sad. We should learn a lesson from this."

Although Hei Yan's junior brother rushed in and was a bit reckless, there might be other experts in this hall who didn't dare to appear because they saw us. However, that military advisor is greedy for women, the girls he captured we absolutely cannot harm.

"We're all ready to attack at any moment, be careful and work together to charge in, we must avenge Hei Yan!" Guan Ping shouted, the crowd's fear lessened, and their blood boiled with excitement.

"Revenge!" Lin Paozi shouted loudly, and at the same time, his two hands drew a line, three fireballs and two wind blades appeared in front of him. The others also took out their spiritual instruments and prepared to strike at any moment!

Guan Ping's slender figure flashed to the doorway, a small fireball shot in, illuminating the entire hall, but not a single person was seen, neither the heavily injured tall and thin figure nor Hei Yan's corpse were anywhere to be found, only some bloodstains on the ground proved that everything had happened before.

"Go!" Guan Ping and Yuan Yong exchanged a glance, then rushed into the hall, Shi Sheng and Mu Qing followed closely behind, and the rest of the people rushed in one after another.

The crowd gathered in the middle of the hall, back to back, facing all directions, cautiously sizing up something. Shi Sheng tightly grasped the Blood Shadow Dagger in his hand, with three small fireballs floating in front of him in a row. The others also revealed their own methods to defend themselves.

"Come out, sir! Today we're going to avenge our fellow disciple. You can't escape death even if you hide!" Guan Ping shouted loudly.

"It's not just you who will die, but us too, haha!" Just then, a cold laugh echoed through the room.

The hall's gate creaked shut, and before everyone could react, several hidden doors suddenly appeared on the surrounding walls. Four figures slowly emerged from the dark corners of the hall.

Shi Sheng's eyes narrowed, and he saw that the four men had prominent temples, light footsteps, and each held a three-foot-long sword in their hands. Shi Sheng recognized them as top martial artists at a glance!

"Everyone be careful, these four are all high-ranking martial artists!" Shi Sheng hastily reminded.

"Oh? Young brother, are you also a martial artist? How did you end up with the cultivators? Why not join us and live a carefree life from now on?" said a chubby middle-aged man with a raised corner of his mouth.

Guan Ping's expression turned serious, he hadn't expected the opponent to have four powerful experts. He hastily ordered: "Yun Fang, Lan Min, you two replace Hei Yan and join Shi Sheng's group! Mu Qing, Yuan Yong, we'll each take on one person!"

"Good!" As soon as Yuan Yong's voice fell, Guan Ping instantly took action, and three ice cones shot out in front of him. Mu Qing raised his hand and swung out two wind blades, then controlled the Ling instrument to attack.

Shi Sheng didn't need to give any orders, Lin Paozi and Lan Min, as well as Yun Fang, all took action, attacking the fat middle-aged man in front of them. Two wind blades shot out from Shi Sheng's body, followed by two small fireballs popping out, but the three small fireballs that had been condensed earlier were still floating in front of him, unused.

  Boom! Boom! Boom!

The stout middle-aged man seemed clumsy, but in reality he was as light as a swallow, his movements extremely agile, his strength far surpassing that of Zha Long. The long sword in his hand swung continuously, the hall resounding with explosions, flames spewing everywhere, and wind blades shattering!

A middle-aged man dodged fireballs and spirit attacks while avoiding those he couldn't dodge with his sword, his eyes narrowing as if searching for an opportunity to charge at Shi Sheng and the others, after all close combat was a warrior's strong suit.

"Don't let him get close!" Shi Sheng shouted, and the crowd continued to block the fat middle-aged man with fireballs, plus the extremely threatening spirit device, this person was temporarily unable to approach several people, although he was being beaten at a distance, but it seemed that he was also difficult to be injured by the crowd.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh! The chubby middle-aged man threw out a few hidden weapons, but his technique was clearly inferior to that of the tall and slender youth earlier. Nevertheless, Lin Baozi's shoulder was hit by a flying dart, and he stumbled backward several steps with a twisted mouth. However, he also showed some tenacity, forcibly pulling out the dart without even stopping the bleeding, not making a sound, and continued to attack.

In the midst of the chaos, Shi Sheng took a quick glance at the other three battle groups. The situation was almost the same, except for Mu Qing's group, which seemed to be in a slightly more precarious state. Their opponents appeared to be more skilled with hidden weapons, and both disciples were wounded.

"Ah......" Just then, one of Guan Ping's disciples was suddenly stabbed in the arm by a warrior who had rushed forward, and his arm was immediately covered in blood, it seemed he couldn't lift it up anymore.

Shi Sheng furrowed his brow, also unaware of the warrior's internal energy consumption rate. However, Shi Sheng knew that his own cultivators' mental energy could not withstand prolonged depletion, or else it would inevitably pose a threat to their lives.

After a moment of hesitation, Shi Sheng's hand shook and a yellow talisman flew out. With a flicker of his mind, the talisman burst open in mid-air with a loud "whoosh" and transformed into a six-foot-long flame snake that pounced towards the fat middle-aged man! (End of this chapter, next chapter will be even more exciting!)
