Chapter 4: The Old Daos Pursuit

Chapter 4: The Old Dao's Pursuit

Fang Wei drove the car with Ye Nan to the old breakfast shop Yang Yu Xing, Ye Nan has always liked eating here, but he lives too far away from here, so he comes less often.

Since someone treated today, Ye Nan didn't stand on ceremony and ordered his favorite tripe noodles, also ordering a bowl of lotus seed porridge, eating with great relish.

However, when the two were having a good breakfast, in a luxurious and majestic villa in Qingyuan Community where Fang Wei visited last night, a middle-aged man was furious, smashing a cup on the table to the ground: "A bunch of useless things, can't even guard a door!"

The two people below lowered their heads and stood still, listening to the person behind the table scolding, their bodies trembling with fear and not daring to make a sound.

That middle-aged man had a face full of anger, his eyebrows raised and his face gloomy, his two eyes emitting fierce light. He turned around with his hands behind him like an ant on a hot pot, making several rapid circles before suddenly stopping, letting out a loud hum, grabbing the white jade paperweight from the table and smashing it at the person below, hitting them right on the forehead.

The man below was hit and staggered, let out a painful hum, quickly stood up straight, didn't dare to move, and allowed the blood from his forehead to flow down without even daring to wipe it off.

Someone next to him was just about to speak, but this scene scared him back. However, he had already been seen by the middle-aged man, who hummed: "Li Bin, say what you have to say quickly!"

Li Bin hastily smiled and said: "Director Yang, the thing has already been lost. Now is not the time to investigate responsibility, but rather to think of a way to get it back as soon as possible!"

Yang nodded and loudly scolded the two people below: "Still not rolling out to check, see who ate leopard gallbladder, even dare to move my Yang Jun's things! If you can't find out, you all be careful of your own heads!" The two men heard this as if they had been pardoned, and quickly slunk away in a hurry.

Yang Jun's face was filled with anger as he watched them leave, muttering to himself: "Useless things..." He then took out his phone from his pocket, found a number and dialed it. The other end rang twice before a gloomy voice came on: "Mr. Yang... what's the matter?"

Yang Jun's face was full of smiles, and he spoke cautiously: "Master Hu, there's a bit of a problem on my end..." "What problem?" The gloomy voice on the other end didn't fluctuate in the slightest.

Yang Jun wiped away a fine bead of sweat on his forehead: "Master Hu, I've lost my account book and...and the small box you left here!"

"What?! My box is also lost?! How is that possible..." The gloomy voice suddenly became sharp, with a hint of indignation: "Tell me... how did you lose it?!"

Yang Jun recounted the events in detail: "Last night I took some people out to take care of something, and only a few brothers were left guarding the house. Who knew that when we came back this morning, those brothers had been knocked unconscious by someone using drugs? Then they found the password cabinet, took my account book and your box! I just discovered it this morning when I got back, and those brothers had just woken up. I immediately notified you."

"That gloomy voice coldly said: 'This is impossible, I still left a little ghost inside, ordinary people can't take it away even if they opened the password cabinet!'"

"Have you left a little ghost?" Yang Jun heard and felt a chill, he had been in contact with that thing for several days without knowing it. However, he quickly replied: "But Master Hu, the thing is really gone, we've searched everywhere but couldn't find it."

The other end of the phone fell silent, and after a while, that gloomy voice finally sounded: "You send someone to find it first, I'll rush over right away!"

With Master Hu's words, Yang Jun finally put his heart at ease. The box was lost and Master Hu didn't blame him too much. Moreover, after discovering that the account book was lost, he immediately let several small heads of sales run away separately.

But this account book falling into the wrong hands is still a great calamity, if it can't be found back, in a few days I'll have to make plans to run away too. Now, with Master Hu taking action, the hope of finding it back has increased by several points!

It wasn't until dusk that Yang Jun stood at the villa gate, his eyes fixed on the distance. After waiting for nearly half an hour, the Mercedes-Benz that had been sent to pick up people from the airport finally returned. Yang Jun hastily ran over, a flattering smile spreading across his face as he opened the car door behind him. Gone was the powerful and heroic aura of that morning.

As the car door opened, a grey-robed old Taoist emerged from inside, looking no more than fifty years old. His white hair was tied up with a small peach wood pin into a bun, and his triangular eyes seemed to be closed but not quite, emitting an unintentional sharp light between the eyelids. He had a hooked nose, downturned mouth corners, and a face full of gloomy colours.

He looked up at Yang Jun, nodded, and walked into the hall on his own, with Yang Jun carefully following behind. The old Taoist sat in the middle of the living room sofa, picked up the top-grade Maojian tea brought by the servant, blew off the floating tea leaves on top, and then carefully took a deep breath along the rim of the cup before closing his eyes and taking a small sip. After the tea had been in his mouth for two rounds, he swallowed it down and finally let out a satisfied sigh.

Yang Jun sat cautiously opposite him, with two subordinates standing behind him. Everyone held their breath and watched the old Taoist, waiting for him to finish his tea...

Lao Dao put down his teacup, looked around at the people including Yang Jun who were all staring at him with eager eyes, and only then nodded in satisfaction. He glanced at Yang Jun and said, "Director Yang, what's going on? I instructed you to be extremely careful before I left, so how did things still go wrong?"

Yang Jun dryly smiled twice: "Master Hu, I was already very careful. When I went out, I arranged for four brothers to stay at home and guard the place. Who knew that we were still ambushed."

"What clues have you found?" The old man asked slowly. Yang Jun was somewhat embarrassed and said, "Only that the person probably ran to the opposite side of the highway and then the trail went cold."

The old man picked up his tea cup and took another small sip, closed his eyes for a moment in contemplation before saying: "Take me to your study..."

Yang Jun quickly got up and walked ahead, leading the old Daoist to the study. The old Daoist wrinkled his nose, took two deep breaths, and said: "The little ghost has come out, but it's impossible to keep that person!"

He finished speaking, then reached into his robe and pulled out a delicate small compass. He muttered to himself as he quickly drew a symbol on the compass with his finger. The small pointer on the compass began to move immediately, pointing towards the door after two rotations.

The old man picked up his robe and walked outwards in the direction of the compass needle, followed by a group of people. They exited the villa gate, crossed the small lawn in front, and headed towards the ornate iron fence surrounding the villa area. When they reached the foot of the fence, the compass needle still pointed outward. The old man took a deep breath, let out a loud shout, and pushed his hand against the iron fence. The two-meter-high fence "whooshed" twice and neatly flipped over.

The crowd following behind, looking at each other in dismay, were also all street thugs who had rolled around on the ground before, and they quickly used their hands and feet to get past, even Yang Jun, who was slightly chubby, easily flipped over after a few moves, but his good Armani suit was torn by the iron spikes on the fence.

Not far away, the security guard who was looking around everywhere took advantage of the last bit of light before dark to see a large group of people climbing over the wall. He was about to shout loudly, but after taking a closer look, he suddenly realized it was Yang and his several high-ranking generals. He quickly shut up, patted his chest in relief, and thought it was lucky that he had just changed into a pair of high-powered invisible glasses two days ago, otherwise this time he would have shouted and gotten into big trouble.

Several people climbed over the fence and went after him, but that old Taoist had already gone far away. Several people hurriedly ran to catch up with him. Yang Jun ran while secretly muttering to himself: "Master Hu is really formidable, our team of over ten people spent half a day finding the escape route of the thief, but he just took one look and was able to follow without any mistakes... I didn't think this magic was so effective."

Several people chased after him, and when they reached the side of the road, Lao Dao had already stopped, holding a compass, turning it several times before sighing and saying to Yang Jun, who was panting beside him: "My little ghost has been eliminated here. After a whole day, that person's trail has also disappeared completely."

He sighed with a hint of resentment, thinking of the lost jade pendant, and his heart ached. This was something he had finally managed to get, only to lose it, which was really unbearable. Suddenly, he shouted loudly: "Send someone to investigate everywhere for me, I must find out that person's whereabouts!"
