Chapter 34: Davids Threat

  Chapter Thirty-Four: David's Threat

I'm on duty at the company today, it's so cold and I'm so hungry, and there's no beer to drink, so I'm too lazy to split chapters. This is a chapter with over 10,000 words, equivalent to or even more than the two chapters of usual days, plus yesterday's extra updated chapter, isn't that enough?

  ×××××××××××××××××××××

On the way to the airport, Chekhov boasted: "Ha, you don't know that Eliza is really not bad. I just wonder what her boss used to persuade her to sleep with me. Hmm, maybe he said: 'Haha, for the sake of our country's interests, for us to get promoted and rich, dear, go sleep with that guy, take off your clothes and make love.'"

Yi Chen cut him off, pointing at his nose and saying: "Dear Chekhov, you'd better remember that in Japan, you mustn't cause any more trouble. Those buddies of yours, I'll send them back to Moscow right away. You can have fun and enjoy yourself in Japan, but don't get into any more mischief, got it?"

Chekhov felt his self-esteem wounded and complained: "Boss, I won't be able to do it. When I went to Japan, my heart was set on playing with little girls."

"Alright, alright, remember this: if something happens to you in Japan, we won't be able to help you right away. The yakuza there aren't like the ones here; they're huge, with tens of thousands of people under their control."

When he heard the question related to his own life, Chekhov hastily nodded in agreement. He calculated that from London to Japan, it would take at least ten or twenty hours by any means, enough time for someone else to drown him, so he still had to be careful.

Phil glanced at Chekhov and asked Yi Chen, "Boss, why not ask the Yamaguchi-gumi to take care of him? Those guys from the Yamaguchi-gumi are now in a situation where they need us, so they should agree to this request. If, as they say themselves, the Yamaguchi-gumi is Japan's largest gang, then Chekhov's safety shouldn't be a problem."

"Look, Phil," said Easy, pointing to Chekhov, "if those people from the mountain pass group were to ask us suddenly: 'What did Mr. Chekhov do that he had to go to Japan? Wasn't he doing well in London? Did you guys do something wrong?' They're not idiots, they can guess the truth with a little thought, it's too dangerous... Never put your handle or potential handle in someone else's hands, this is advice."

  Phil nodded in understanding.

He almost kicked Chekhov off the bus, then stared at him as he ran into the boarding gate. Yichun smiled: "Good, good, the biggest trash among us can finally leave us for a while, hope he can learn to behave."

The Boeing 757 airliner was just lifting off the ground as Chikov's buttocks had barely touched the seat. Yichun smiled and turned around, but suddenly saw a group of people he didn't want to see at all right now.

David brought a group of subordinates, quickly walking towards this direction. Although Yi Chen didn't recognize them, the badges on their chests had already revealed their identities. Less than two hours after the previous action, they had found Yi Chen's whereabouts, and their work efficiency couldn't be said to be low. Yi Chen let out a cold hum, leading a group of people towards another corridor. David called out from afar: "Mr. Yi Chen, please wait."

Yi Chen pretended not to hear, and none of his subordinates paid attention to him, following Yi Chen quickly.

Two agents rushed up quickly and blocked Yi Chen's path, expressionless, saying: "Please wait, our boss has something to do with you."

Yi Chen turned around, lightly brushing her long hair with her left hand, the white jade pendant on her finger spinning rapidly. She looked at David who had caught up to her and asked coldly: "This... oh, Agent sir, do you have business with me? I am a legitimate businessman, a good citizen of the British Empire. You've got the wrong person, haven't you?"

"Ah, I think I haven't mistaken the person, dear Chinese Mr. Yi," David said with a sly smile. "Who did you just see off from Britain? My eyesight isn't good, didn't get a clear look at who that was, but you two were certainly quick about it."

Yi Chen looked at him coldly: "None of your business." David's blunt response left him speechless, and he stood there awkwardly.

Cain slowly swayed his tall body forward, slightly bowing down, staring at David's face less than a foot away, and said viciously: "Look, our dear agent Mr., I remember you're that damn K, in the Middle East, your code name is K, right? You're the one who got my 23 subordinates killed there, aren't you? You bunch of incompetent intelligence agents, goddamn trash."

David's eyes widened in shock as he stared at Cain's face: "Good heavens, Colonel Cain! How...how are you here? You should still be..."

"Cain said coldly, 'I've always remembered your damn face, one of my twenty-three subordinates who got killed because of your crap intelligence. I remember you, damn it... You wait, I'll settle the score with you, and my brothers haven't forgotten you either, dear K. Or have you changed your name now? Ah, looking at your badge, promoted? Become head of operations? Oh, so you're David? Hmm?'"

David's forehead was covered in cold sweat, and he couldn't utter a single word.

Yi Chen looked at the scene with a happy heart, smiling and dispersing the crowd: "Ha, Mr. Cain, I don't care what grudges you had with K or Mr. David in the past, now we are all legitimate businessmen, don't get too close to him, be careful he accuses you of violent threats... Let's go, let's go, it's almost dawn, we need to have breakfast... You can 'slowly' get close to Mr. David later."

Cain flashed a sinister smile at David's grimace and followed Yichen out with big strides.

One of David's subordinates asked him inexplicably: "Boss, this guy is too arrogant, why don't we catch him now?"

"Damn it, just the few of us, and you want to capture Kain, the commander of Germany's 'Black Magic' special forces? Are you crazy? In that operation, his subordinates lost twenty-three men, and in order to lead the rest to escape, he blew up seventeen nearby civilian houses, killing over five hundred civilians. He was stripped of his rank when he returned. And now, all of his remaining subordinates have defected and left the army with him... God, what kind of people does Yichen have under him?"

Another tactless fellow asked him: "Boss, we've never heard of a 'Black Magic' unit in Germany. What do they do?"

David glared at him: "'Black Magic' troops have always been the highest secret of the German military, a group of perverts, a group of madmen. With just over 60 people, their combat power is comparable to that of a fully armed mechanized brigade... damn it. Go back and think about it for now... I'm sure it was them." David's last sentence was spoken in a low voice, looking at Cain, he was sure it was Cain who did it, only they would do such a clean job, and only they would wipe out all the more than 400 special agents on duty in the entire building, leaving no one alive.

As he thought about the headlines in The Times and other papers after dawn, David couldn't help but feel a little schadenfreude. That old guy should step down anyway, since he's the head now, he should take the blame. At the same time, David vowed: "If I were to become the head, I would definitely discipline those special agents well, these brats picked from universities have no combat effectiveness at all."

Sitting in the car, Yi Chen looked at Kain with great interest: "Haha, Colonel Kain? Almost General Kain."

Jester said with a sarcastic tone, "Ah, yes, Colonel. I didn't think we had all sorts of people among us. Colonel Cain, what a majestic name. By the way, what's up with that damned guy?"

Cain fell silent for a moment before speaking in a dry tone, "Five years ago, a batch of weapons transported from Eastern Europe... They asked us to assist in intercepting and destroying those things. Our entire 'Black Magic' unit was deployed, but the expected delivery location had an ambush of over two thousand guerrilla fighters. Twenty-three of my trusted subordinates were killed, we took out more than seven hundred enemies, but their firepower was too strong, and the nearby military camp didn't even provide us with reinforcements."

Yi Chen nodded and said: "And then?"

Kane revealed a ferocious smile: "So I gave the order, and all the nearby civilian houses were blown up. We took advantage of the chaos to slip away... The bodies of twenty-three brothers were left on the scene. Damn it, we couldn't save them."

Yi Chen raised an eyebrow and said in a low voice, "So you're just looking for someone to take the fall, and that's why you've become unlucky? And Colonel Cain has also become Killer Cain?"

Kane nodded: "No way, I have to make a living, who will hire me, a person who only knows how to kill and can't do anything else? I can only be an assassin. Besides, the other thirty or so brothers all deserted the army and followed me out, I have to take care of their livelihoods."

"HAHAHAHAHA, who knew your first big deal was to take me and the boss down, only to be beaten into a pig's head by us? Ahahahahaha, I'm dying from laughter... Hey, but honestly, Cain, this is fate, you know? This is fate."

Cain also cracked a smile and exchanged a hearty fist bump with Jester.

Fiona sat on Yichen's thigh, yawning and saying: "Boss, I'm just afraid that David won't let it go, he must know it was us who did it."

"Easy for you to say," said Dusty coldly. "What can he do to us? He's got no evidence, the dictaphone is useless as far as we're concerned, and we can find it whenever we want. Our records at Scotland Yard are as clean as a virgin's, not a stain on them; from a official point of view, we're models for the British Empire. What can he do to us?"

Jester sneered: "Six months later, we will give Chekhov a facelift and change his face slightly, so that there is no trace at all."

Yi Chen smiled: "It's simple, just break his nose bridge and it's done. A high nose bridge becomes a collapsed nose, who can still recognize him?"

  ××××××××××××××××××××××××

In the early morning, after a short rest, Yī Chén read through seven or eight newspapers in his hand with great interest. The headlines were all about the large-scale attack last night. In total, more than 50 police cars and 37 fire trucks were destroyed, with no casualties; but MI6 was a bit unlucky, losing a batch of special agents (the newspaper said the number was not auspicious), and their old nest was also destroyed by half. What shocked the British government and opposition parties the most was that all the extremely confidential documents of MI6 were completely destroyed.

David and their head resigned, with the former first deputy director temporarily exercising the power of the director. As a result, David, as the leader of the special rights group, was basically unmanaged and could take advantage of the situation to do whatever he wanted.

Yi Chen swallowed a small pastry, threw away the newspaper in his hand and shouted loudly: "Everyone get up for me! We're going to visit Shan Kou. I want to see when that kid will make a profit for us. We can't just help him do things for nothing, without any benefits. Ah, Phil, Mr. Phil?"

Phil and Goll strode in quickly, nodding slightly at Yichen.

Easy dust strange smile and said: "Manchester that side finally found me, those loyal office director told me, our steel plant in the stock market lost a lot of money, and someone is desperately looting our stocks, using our stocks to do some bad things... You two now go to Manchester, just say I have no money, can't afford such a big expense, get rid of him. Those workers, give them some severance pay according to the rules... Ah, that lovely Oaf Mr., is a simple guy, I like, control his sister, can control him, if he makes trouble, get rid of him."

"Phil nodded and said: "What about that import and export company?"

Yi Chen smiled: "Import and export company? Which import and export company... Oh my god, Phil dear, you want to tell me that those seven beautiful female clerks are from which company? That company can continue to operate, I've always liked the beauty of adults... Hmm, I see that damned David is driving over there, you guys leave quickly, I'm going to visit Mr. Yamaguchi too. Tell the brothers downstairs to respectfully invite Mr. David to the living room for tea, slowly drink tea, I'm not in a hurry."

Phil and Gore drove directly to the train station with nothing. Yi Chen, Fei Li, Jester and Sally drove to the casino of the Shan Kou group, coincidentally avoiding David's team who were leading the way. Kane brought a bunch of brothers to guard China Town, just in time to stare at David.

  ×××××××××××××××××××

Yamaguchi put on a solemn ceremony to welcome Yichen's arrival, he was somewhat suspicious of yesterday night's affairs and Yichen's connection, because Vigkins had revealed a hint in front of him. Yamaguchi was shocked by the strength of Yichen's hidden power, and for Yichen, it was even more cautious.

Yi Chen swaggered into the waiting hall of the casino, casually kicking off his leather shoes and putting on a pair of wooden clogs. He led the three people into the hall, just in time to see Vigens sitting with a smile behind a wooden counter, with a landscape painting in front of him.

Yi Chen leaned back in his chair, took a closer look for a moment, shook his head and said: "The era is not very old, is this painting worth money?"

Yamaguchi hastily walked over and said: "Mr. Yi, this is a work by the famous Japanese Spring Water Heart Master, and it's from a very ancient era."

Yi Chen thought for a moment, yeah, indeed it's old enough for ordinary people. After all, the characters and paintings he saw on the mountain were some of the antiques from three thousand years ago...

Everyone took their seats, and according to their preferences, they each ordered what they needed. Sally was a bit flustered as she looked at the kimono-clad waitress kneeling in front of her, holding a black lacquer tray.

Yamaguchi saw this and flew into a rage, punching the geisha in the face with all his might. "You fools!" he shouted. "How could you let such an untrained woman serve guests? Don't you know to ask what the guest wants?"

Yi Chen gently patted Sally's shoulder and said to Yamaguchi, "Don't blame your subordinate, this Sally has a bit of a weird temper, never encountered such a thing before... Jester, order something for Sally."

Jester idly flipped a wooden sign on the black lacquered tray, marked with "clear wine". Jester muttered to Sally: "You have to learn to enjoy other people's service. Remember, following the boss, you are no longer the poor ghost Sally."

Sally's eyes moved slightly, seeming to have a bit more spirit than before.

Mr. Yamaguchi, I've found that there are surprisingly few players here, very few, extremely few, and I find it hard to believe this can guarantee our profits.

Yamaguchi knelt down on the ground, slightly bowing his head towards Yichun and said: "Hey, yeah, we've noticed that too. But recently, Britain has been in a state of turmoil, the financial market has made many rich people go bankrupt, they don't have the mood to come here and have fun anymore. Also, the social security situation hasn't been good lately, last night we even heard several loud explosions, I'm afraid customers won't dare to come to entertainment venues either."

Yi Chen tilted her head and glanced at Shan Kou, then looked at the surface with a thoughtful expression, as if appreciating an ink painting. In reality, she was secretly sizing up her own Vikings, revealing a hint of an alluring smile: "Really, these bandits have become more and more lawless lately... But Mr. Shan Kou, you can't just increase costs without making a profit, right? If everyone does things your way, when will I ever get any benefits?"

Yamaguchi looked at Yichun in surprise: "Mr. Yi, we haven't increased costs recently?"

"Look, look, you're being hypocritical again in front of me. I've come all the way here and your subordinates have increased by at least five times compared to last time." Yi Chen leaned forward, staring at Shan Kou's face: "Isn't increasing personnel just increasing costs?"

Yamaguchi smiled awkwardly: "Are you referring to this? Ah, we're increasing personnel, mainly to increase the security force of the casino. We don't want what happened last time to happen again." His gaze flickered as he looked at Yichun.

Yi Chen smiled with a hint of mischief, took a sip of tea, and gently placed the teacup on the table, as if accidentally knocking it over, spilling water all over the ink painting. Viggo jumped in fright, while Yamaguchi was taken aback. Yi Chen apologized profusely, "I'm so sorry, I'm really sorry, what a pity! Such a valuable painting, gone just like that." He pulled out his handkerchief and hastily wiped the painting paper, only to end up rubbing a large hole into it.

Yamaguchi opened his big mouth, shook his head with a few "tsks", and his eyes were full of regret.

Yi Chen looked embarrassed: "I'm really sorry, how much is this painting worth? Just deduct it from my future profits."

Yamaguchi shook his head and clicked his tongue, saying: "Mr. Yi is being polite, but it's just a painting after all."

Vikings also looked at that painting with a bit of regret, it was originally given to him by Yamaguchi, but was turned into trash by Yichun.

Yi Chen smiled and said: "I have this problem, I'm a bit careless and tend to break things. Ah, I really apologize."

Yamaguchi swallowed a few mouthfuls of saliva, his heart as clear as a mirror. Yi Chen was showing off to him, nakedly threatening him, saying: "I'm not satisfied, you dare to cheat me?"

The Japanese beside him quickly brought Yi Chen a new cup of tea.

Yamaguchi weighed his options carefully, while Easy was quietly drinking tea with a gurgling sound. Vickers looked left and right, thinking to himself: "Let these two damned Orientals play dumb riddles, why should I intervene?" So he too sat silently in his seat, munching on melon seeds and snacks that were served to him.

Yamaguchi finally cracked a smile, bowing and scraping as he said to Yī Chén: "Mr. Yī is indeed a man of discernment... Ah, our Yamaguchi group has plans to establish a branch in London, and we still need the support of both of you... Our big boss said that as long as our Yamaguchi gate is set up smoothly, all the benefits will be shared equally among us three."

Yi Chen stopped the movement of the tea lid in his hand and looked deeply at Shan Kou. Vickers, however, was startled and stuttered: "You're opening a branch in London?"

Yamaguchi nodded slowly, staring at Yichun like a motionless mountain.

Yi Chen burst out laughing and put down the teacup in his hand, saying loudly: "I've disturbed you today, I'll go back and think about it."

Yi Chen walked out with big strides, Shan Kou didn't see them off, silently sitting in the original place, his facial expression changing unpredictably. Vigens twisted his butt a few times and quickly said: "So, my stud farm needs to mate several horses today, I'll take my leave first."

Yamaguchi simply nodded and let Viggo lead his men out.

A paper wall in the hall suddenly split open, and an old man wearing a black kimono with a sword at his waist walked out. Yamaguchi bowed respectfully to him, calling out "Big Brother." The other members of the Yamaguchi-gumi also bowed deeply, their waists bent at a 90-degree angle.

The old man nodded and said, "Alright, Shan Kou, I'll return to Japan tomorrow. Hurry up and gather your men. You have to be careful in dealing with that Yi Chen... His two subordinates have a very strong aura about them, they're experts, you can't handle them, try to win him over, understand?"

Yanagawa was shocked and looked up at the old man: "Brother, is his subordinate a yin-yang master? What about Yidun himself?"

The old man shook his head and said, "It's not the kind of power that our great Japan's onmyodo has, but a natural, powerful force... As for Yī Chén himself, I couldn't see it, but why can he gather such powerful people? Think about it yourself... Be careful with your actions, the prosperity of our Yamaguchi-gumi depends on this one time."

Yamaguchi nodded. The old man turned around and walked back, sat down in the middle of the floor with his legs crossed, and the sliding doors closed again.

Vikings and his group walked to the entrance of the casino, Sally drove slowly in front of them. Yichen rolled down the window, smiled at Vikings and said: "You seem to have no car now? Can I give you a ride?"

Vikings opened the car door and sat up, Jester reluctantly got up from the sofa, took out a bottle of red wine from the small refrigerator in the car, and drank a mouthful. Vikings drove the car away, his subordinates followed in the car behind Yichen's car.

Yi Chen said straightforwardly: "Does Yamaguchi-gumi want to open a branch in London?"

Viggo nodded and said: "I'm like you, I just found out today."

"Vikings, this is a big trouble. You know that once the news gets out, all the families in London, all of Britain, all of Europe will come after us... This isn't Japan, it's not Yamaguchi-gumi territory. They want to open a branch here, but European families won't agree."

Vikings was stunned for half a day before stuttering: "What can we do?"

Yi Chen said with a sly smile: "I'll burn the agreement with Yamaguchi-gumi right away, I won't bother them again, and there's no reason for European families to look for me either. I just secretly helped them take down an old boss, nobody knows about my relationship with them... But you're different, you helped them out in a big way, now everyone knows... Alright, we've arrived, you can get off the car."

Without hesitation, Vikins was thrown off the car, and Jester asked Yichen: "Boss, are you really going to destroy that agreement?"

"Am I that stupid? What's the point of burning it? There's another one at the Yamaguchi-gumi... I just want to see how that old man Vicking responds, he has many connections, let's wait and see... Dammit, when I get back I'll have to face a half-breed, hopefully he and Cain haven't started fighting, I don't want to be summoned by the district court for my subordinate beating up a few agents, that would be a stain on my record, wouldn't it?"

  ×××××××××××××××××××

In the living room on the second floor of China Town, two groups of people sat and stood in a clear division. Cain sat on the innermost sofa, fiddling with his large military handgun, behind him were seventeen members of the original 'Black Magic' special forces team, staring at David and others with sinister intentions. David sat opposite Cain, holding a cup of coffee that had long gone cold, behind him were seven or eight agents whose morale had fallen to an all-time low.

Outside the living room, Phil and his subordinates kept walking back and forth from time to time, casting eerie glances at David and others, making David feel like he was sitting on pins and needles, cursing Yichen in his heart.

Yi Chen slowly walked through the gate, slowly listened to the report of the little brother downstairs, slowly passed through the guests in the ballroom, slowly and kindly asked the small drug dealers how they were doing, and then slowly went upstairs, slowly walking to the door of the reception hall.

"Ah ha, David, dear Mr. David, what instructions do you have?"

Those big black men retreated, Kane stood up, put the pistol in his hand into his waistband, and the subordinates behind him quickly lined up and walked out, respectfully bowing slightly to Yichen.

Yi Chen walked over to the sofa where Cain had just sat, leaned back casually, and gently twirled his jade pendant with his thumb, smiling at David and saying: "Hello, are those black cars downstairs yours?"

David nodded subconsciously and said: "Yes, Mr. Yi, I came to find you, it's..."

"Easy, interrupting him, ordered: 'Mr. Kane, and Jester, take those few friends outside to have some fun, find a few girls for them, let them open rooms or settle on the spot, let these elite who work day and night for the British Empire be happy.'"

The agents' faces changed, and Yi Chen's words were clearly treating them as street thugs and whoremongers.

"Go out, I have something to talk with Mr. Yi," said David, waving his hand.

Several agents glared at Yichun fiercely, and slowly followed Cain out. Yichun sneered: "Look, Mr. David, your subordinates are too impolite. What if they have a headache or fever in the future, or suddenly it rains flowerpots from the sky? It's really heartbreaking."

Several agents who had just walked to the door quickly turned around, David was already bellowing: "Get the hell out of here, NOW!!! Get out." Several agents quickly scurried out and didn't dare to stay.

Easy dust lightly applauded and said to Sally: "Sally darling, push that wine cart over, yes, with a smile on your face? Your smile is simply captivating. Yes, just like that, slowly learn to enjoy life. Please pour Mr. David a glass of red wine, this is the best from Porto... thank you. Then, Sally, pour yourself a glass, yes, good, sit down and savor it slowly. Phyllis darling, get me a glass."

He raised his wine glass, watching Sally sipping her red wine with satisfaction, then looked at David and said, "David, hmm, David, was it necessary for you to come find me directly? I think we don't have anything good to say."

David gulped down the red wine in his cup, then refilled it himself and gulped it down again. He repeated this process once more before holding up the empty cup and saying: "Mr. Yi, this is England, the land of the British Empire."

Fiona picked up the wine bottle with a slight smile and poured David a glass of wine.

Yi Chen nodded and said: "I know, I know. The place where I stand is the territory of the British Empire. So what? Can you teach me?"

David said with a straight face: "Well, you should acknowledge that the laws of the British Empire can govern you. Many of your actions are wrong."

"Yi Chen rolled her eyes and glanced at him: "For example? Oh, no, no, no, don't use the recorder, Sally. Take out the small, exquisite recorder from Mr. David's left breast pocket, that's it, give it to me."

Yi Chen crushed the recorder in his hand and smiled, saying: "You secret agents always like to be sneaky. Next time I'll let you take off your sunglasses before entering my room... I know what you're going to say, that I rescued Chekhov, that I blew up the Military Intelligence Division building, that I took out 453 of your agents, that I destroyed your data center, and that I stole some confidential documents, such as a certain princess's car accident case... Right?"

David stared at Yichun with a look of shock and gritted his teeth, saying: "So, it was really you who did it?"

Yi Chen sat up straight and looked at David with great interest, saying: "So, what about it?"

Outside the window, a heavy object fell down, and a loud rumbling sound came from the street below. Yi Chen smiled: "Sorry, your car with the laser eavesdropping device, because we are doing construction on the rooftop, accidentally dropped a few concrete slabs... I'll be responsible for compensation... huh?"

David was thoroughly defeated and looked at Yichun saying: "You're really formidable, truly, you are the most ruthless person I've ever met."

"It's too kind of you to say so. Anyone who has even a slight grasp of power beyond the ordinary, and doesn't have something holding back their ambition, can't help but do some excessive things. Unfortunately, I'm that kind of person... I'm aware of my weaknesses, which is why I've been working on controlling myself lately. My methods aren't all that severe, or you'd be swimming in the Thames by now."

David stood up, gazing deeply at Yidun and said word by word: "I won't let you off this time, if not now then next time... I have to say, you're a great opponent. Look, you confessed everything in front of me, but I just can't do anything to you, you're really a formidable person, Mr. Yi. I've never been stingy with my praise for excellent opponents."

"Your opponent? Oh my god, have you ever had a worthy opponent? If your opponents are all so formidable, doesn't that also mean you're quite impressive? But if you were really that great, why did K from the Middle East get false information? Stop trying to add luster to your own reputation here."

David looked at Yichun with a mixture of embarrassment and annoyance: "Your tone doesn't sound like that of a gentleman."

Yi Chen stood up, viciously saying: "I only reserve gentlemanly attitude for gentlemen. For scoundrels like you, I've always liked to show them the same... Dear Mr. David, don't think that just because your director has fallen, you have an opportunity; even more, don't think you can climb to a high position in the military intelligence bureau by stepping on my corpse. People like you, I saw many when I first started out in the underworld. You're nothing, strip away your glorious title as head of the military intelligence bureau, and you're not even worth a piece of trash."

"David looked at Yichen deeply: 'You've made me lose face, dear. Your words have hurt my self-esteem too much. You shouldn't be like this. Actually, my intention was good. You yourself gave up on this opportunity... I'll deal with you, Yichen from China.'"

"Ah, yes, your intentions are good, you want to reach a cooperation agreement with me, let me help you ascend to the throne, and then, my powerful forces can help you do some things that are inconvenient for you to handle personally. Look, more than half of the 'Black Magic' special forces are in my hands, I'm sure you're very envious, aren't you? Unfortunately, they are my treasures, you won't get a single hair from them... And I won't cooperate with someone as petty as you, dear Mr. David, drink up the wine in your cup and then get out of here."

"David stuttered: "Y-you said what? Want me..."

Yi Chen looked at him and smiled: "Just as you called your subordinate earlier, I'm asking you, very politely, to get out. Look, I've left some face for you."

David downed the liquor in his cup in one gulp, gritted his teeth tightly and strode quickly towards the door, saying in a low voice: "Yi, we'll meet again."

Yi Chen filled with murderous intent stared at David and said gloomily: "Yes, David, we will meet soon... you idiot."

David didn't bother with the smashed surveillance car or his two heavily armed subordinates, and quickly led them away. He kept asking himself in his mind: "How did he know I was recording? How did he know that car was a surveillance vehicle?"

As soon as he came out, he saw several subordinates of Yi Chen busy beside the vehicle, saying that they were rescuing the wounded. However, David knew that those listening devices must have been destroyed and had no value at all.

David suddenly slammed his fist onto the car roof and bellowed: "Damn Chinese, I'll make you go to a labor camp, I swear."

The bewildered subordinates stared at David in horror, having no idea why their boss was so furious. They didn't even know why they had come to find Yichen, as the greedy David hadn't told them anything...

Yi Chen stood behind the floor-to-ceiling window, watching David's vehicle disappear into the distance. A cold smile played on his lips as he shook his head and said: "Sally, go tell Cain to check on Military Intelligence Section 6's recent work arrangements, see if there's any harvest to be had. Without their own office building, these agents should start taking turns going on vacation, right?"

Sally was taken aback for a moment, nodded slightly, carefully put down the wine glass in her hand, stood up with some hesitation, but still walked firmly towards the door.
