Chapter 31: Righteousness and Purity

  Justice and Purity

Early in the morning, after a night of rest, Yì Chén got up spiritedly, stretched his body slightly, did a few stances, and made his bones crackle with a few crisp sounds. He then pressed the electric bell, ordering all his subordinates to gather in the living room outside his bedroom. Fēi Lì quickly got up, washed her face briefly, put on that unchanging silver tight-fitting dress, and followed Yì Chén out of the door.

"Ei Chen didn't waste any words and instructed Cain: "Cain, you be ready at all times. If we need any heavy artillery, take care of it yourself. We may need your strength and that of your subordinates. Phil, Goll, go ask the local court about any upcoming cases that need to be tried. I want detailed information, including sensitive closed trials. Ask our dear Allen Pu if he knows anything. We pay him so much every month, he should be doing something for us. Feli, Jester, come with me to see that old scoundrel Vigen's. We may need him."

"Alright, mates, no time to waste. Our dear, poor, detestable little brother Chikov is waiting for us to rescue him. That scoundrel! If it weren't for the fact that he's been following us all these years, I'd leave him rotting in prison." Kane, Phil and Goll strode out, while Jester sprang up from the couch where he had collapsed as soon as they entered, his eyes shining with excitement. "Boss, what are we going to do?"

Jester glanced at him, and Yi Chen took out his phone and dialed Vigens' number: "Dear Vigens, are you free this morning? I want to talk to you about something, yes, some private matters... Half an hour later, I'll come to your place, don't bother with formalities, just two slices of bread and a cup of milk will do."

Yi Chen waved his hand, and together with Feili and Jester, they headed downstairs. Kain had arranged for two people to act as drivers, who were also among the best in Kain's organization. Yi Chen nodded and said: "As long as the traffic police don't bother us, drive as fast as you like, brothers. The faster the better. I promised to arrive at Viggin's horse farm in half an hour."

It only took twenty-five minutes for Yi Chen and the others to reach their destination. Along the way, they were not caught by traffic police, but perhaps they were photographed by electronic cameras running red lights, but it was just a fine anyway, and Yi Chen didn't care about these things.

Vikings stood at the gate of his own horse farm with a bright smile to welcome Yichun and others. Yichun walked over and shook hands with Vikings, laughing and saying: "Ah ha, Vikings, I heard that your little black horse won another championship? Hmm? Is it true? How much money did you win?"

"Ah, Chinese Easy? Where is it so easy to win money? A little bit, a little bit only! Raising these purebred horses requires huge costs, huge costs, you know? The money they spend can almost be cast into golden horses as big as them!"

Yi Chen lightly whistled and made a kicking motion at the crazily barking wolf dog beside him. Viggin's two subordinates hastily came over, using a combination of punches and kicks to chase away the wolf dog that didn't take a liking to Yi Chen. Yi Chen said in a low tone, "I've come to ask you some questions."

Vikings rolled his eyes: "Let's go to the back flower pavilion to talk, I've had breakfast prepared, oh, and these two..." Vikings pointed at two of Cain's subordinates.

"Whatever, whatever. You decide how to treat them. Oh, and get some good wine for these two guys, they need it. Preferably authentic Munich pure black beer, they like that taste." The two Germans smiled.

Vikings gestured to a few subordinates to take away two people, and while walking, carefully sizing up Yichun said: "Your complexion looks good, just like the weather. Chinese Yi... You came this time, is it because of last night's things? What exactly do you want to find him for? He's a big shot, I didn't call him on the phone last night, I don't know your purpose, sorry I dare not..."

"Damn it, you old ghost, so what you promised me last night was just farting?"

Of course, Yichen couldn't say that out loud, so he stepped into Viggin's flower pavilion, which was surrounded by ivy and had a slightly ancient Greek temple style. He casually found a white wooden chair to sit down in, without waiting for Viggin's invitation, and smiled as he said: "No worries, no worries, it's not like it's anything urgent... Ah, great, you've even prepared such a rich breakfast, thank you so much."

Vikings was a bit unclear about the details of Yichun, sat down carefully and asked Yichun: "So, what's your problem? Didn't you go to China? And recently London has been calm, except for some turmoil in the financial markets, everything is fine."

Yi Chen glanced at Viggo, picked up a lemon and squeezed a few drops of juice into the purified water in front of him. Next to him, Jester had already started devouring a roasted sausage with gusto.

"Darling Yi, what exactly do you want to see him about? You know he's a big shot, if anything happens to him, I'll be the one who can't afford it, and my pockets won't be able to hold it either."

Seeing Viggo seemed a bit reluctant to help, Yi Chen revealed a hint of cold smile, lightly sipped his lemon water, narrowed his eyes and stared at Viggo saying: "Dear Mr. Viggo, I'm here this time to collect my share of the profit."

Vikings was taken aback: "Which profit? Which profit?"

Yi Chen picked up a small silver dinner knife from the table and began to cut a roasted sausage into small pieces, his eyes fixed on Vikins as he said: "The casino of the Yamaguchi-gumi, I put in so much effort, now that time has passed, I need my share of the profits. Did you hear me clearly?" Jester lightly played with a small fork in his hand, a hint of malice in his smile as he gazed at Vikins' throat.

"Good heavens, Ei! I was just about to look for you with Mr. Yamaguchi. You've got to give us some time."

"Vikings, I don't have time for you. Now, almost all the casinos in London are under the control of the Shan Kou group. You understand, the profit from this market is huge, and what I should get in a month, I want it now."

"Vikings shook his head repeatedly: "No, no, no, Yi, listen to me explain, we have not made any profit for more than a month, no profit at all, do you understand?"

"Yi Chen also shook his head repeatedly: "No, no, no, Vigens, you need to listen to me. I want the profit from last month that the bunch of idiots from the Yamaguchi-gumi promised me, and the promise you made to give me insider information on horse racing. I want a satisfactory answer today."

Vikings looked at Yichun with dissatisfaction: "Yi, you're not unaware of the turmoil in the UK financial market recently. Many people are struggling to cope, and many have lost 30% to 70% of their assets. They can't afford to come to our casino for entertainment at this critical moment... Those customers, I mean those wealthy Londoners, are all coping with the financial storm and won't be coming to the casino. We don't have any profits."

Yi Chen looked at him coldly: "What if I must today?"

Vikings smiled wryly, glanced at the surrounding gunners who were approaching after hearing the sound, and said helplessly: "Yi, I regard you as a friend, and you have always been a good friend. I don't want some things to cause discord between us."

Yi Chen lightly tapped the table a few times, put a small piece of bread into his mouth, and said indifferently: "They are about fifteen meters away from Huating, and I am less than one meter away from you. You can figure it out yourself."

Vikings shrugged his shoulders: "Well, I can only give that dear old boss of Scotland Yard a phone call."

Yi Chen smiled and leaned back comfortably. Vickers also burst out laughing: "Yi, you're a rascal, the worst rascal in all of London."

"Who's the good guy here, anyway? I want to see him as soon as possible today. I just need to ask him one question, got it? I'm willing to pay a high price for that one question... Hope you can facilitate this."

Vikings took out his mobile phone, dialed a number, and called out warmly: "Weilun, dear old friend, are you free today? I have a spirited horse here that wants to meet you... Yes, don't worry, it's a very exciting good horse, you'll be interested... Okay, an hour? Great, great, excellent."

Under the gaze of the three people, Viggo smiled and closed his phone, saying: "Very smooth, he happened to have time, so he was willing to take out a little bit of time to visit my small horse farm."

"Viggins, you're too modest. Excessive humility is hypocrisy... Throughout England, there's no more powerful stable than yours. You're the leader in this industry, and you don't need to be polite in front of us."

Vikings smiled with satisfaction, looked at his watch and said: "At most an hour, Wei Lun will arrive here, we can now enjoy our breakfast... But, Kai, come over, change a table of breakfast, all are cold, huh, these roasted meat, change a batch."

Several men in black came over and quickly replaced the food on the table according to Vickers' request. Vickers smiled and said, "Please help yourself, please... Ah, Miss Phryne must like fruit, here are some rare fruits from Southeast Asia, you'll be interested."

Forty-nine minutes later, a man with half of his head shaved off and a warm smile all over his face, looking like an old neighbor, drove into the Wiggins' estate in a worn-out Citroen. Wiggins and Yichen hurried to greet him.

The old man stepped out of the carriage, beaming with a smile as he walked towards Wiggins and boomed in a loud voice: "I've heard there's a fine horse hereabouts. Ah, dear Wiggins, you're teasing my appetite, surely that's so, isn't it?"

Yi Chen saw the old man's worn but clean gray suit and black leather shoes, the style was a bit outdated, but well-maintained, giving an impression of being traditional, conservative yet striving to maintain its own dignity, just like England.

Viggo pointed at Yichun and said with a smile: "This is that spirited horse, haha, Viggo, come on, let's go inside to talk."

Weidong cautiously stood still, gazed at Yicun for a moment, and said softly: "I came to see the horse, not people... And this one, I have some impression, recently always in London's magnificent Chinese boss, right?"

Easily dusting himself off, he bowed slightly and said: "I am in London, my dear Mr. Vulture of Scotland Yard."

"Veyne looked at Vygins: "What do you mean? What do you want me to talk to him about?"

Yi Chen looked around and saw no one nearby, the nearest gunman was also fifty meters away, so he simply said: "Alright, it's very simple, one of my subordinates has been arrested, I want to get some information from you, of course, I'll give you a certain reward."

"Are you joking? I'm the top tier of Scotland Yard, and you're a big shot in the London underworld. Are we really discussing a deal? Am I supposed to be strengthening ties with the underworld, or are you trying to bribe or intimidate a loyal servant of the British Empire like myself?"

Yi Chen glanced at Viggo: "You're mixed in this circle, of course, you can't not know our dear old Mr. Viggo... What do you say?"

"Come on, dear Vellin, considering our long-standing friendship, huh? Help me out with this little favor, okay, Yi?"

Yi Chen said in a soft voice, "I've looked for people I know in Scotland Yard, but they don't know anything. So, I'm looking to you for some information... right? You're an important person, especially with your authority, you must know something that interests me."

"Good heavens, are you telling me that our pure and noble Scottish Yard has been indulging in underhanded dealings with you? Lord above, I need to do some internal housecleaning!"

"Darling, Mr. Vickers, you've disappointed me terribly! Wiggins is your friend, and I can be your best friend too... Are you afraid of my loose tongue? Are you afraid I'll spill some secrets? Good heavens, justice and purity, Mr. Wiggins manipulates the underground horse racing in London, are you really pure just because you know him? Haven't you benefited from it at all?"

"Ah, come on, what's the point of saying that?" Viggins said somewhat impatiently.

"God, you're insulting me, did you hear that? Vigens, your horse is insulting me, understand? Chinese, young man, I'll give you some color to see, I remember the data said you run a nightclub? Is it? So, your business won't open again after today."

Yi Chen looked at Wei Lun with a cold and icy gaze: "You can try, you originally could have gotten me as a friend, a strong and powerful friend, but you gave up, you refused, you even want to turn me from a friend into an enemy. Sir, you are turning me into your enemy... What good does this do for you? Why don't you consider it, huh?"

Vikings shook his head: "Vic, forget it, just a little news, isn't it? In short, oh my god, I really have two good horses here, purebred, black, with silver stars on their foreheads, you'll be interested... Come on, come on, Yi is a reliable person, he will become our best friend, you understand, no matter what we do, we need some powerful partners."

"Does he seem strong to you? I don't think so. If he were, why would his subordinates be taken away and he wouldn't even have any news about it? Good heavens, Vigens, you're underestimating my intelligence."

"No, no, no, Mr. Wei, I know what you're thinking, but I'm not some powerless little gangster, I'm a big shot in London, as you well know, I have considerable influence. But since the military is involved, what can I do? I'm not familiar with this sort of thing."

"Damn it, Yi, Military Intelligence? What's Military Intelligence doing bothering you? Did you smuggle a large quantity of arms or something? Are you... are you trafficking in things you shouldn't be touching? Uranium? Or something related?"

"Good heavens, Wiggins! Where's the harm in that? I'm a respectable businessman, ain't I? Good heavens, what are you thinking of? A little problem, just a tiny one, nothing to get worked up about..."

Yi Chen's tone paused, looking at Wei Lun with a slightly provocative gaze: "Yes, it should be the Military Intelligence Bureau, right? They bypassed Scotland Yard and directly took away my subordinates. Hmm? Is that so? Dear Mr. Wei Lun, you don't actually know the situation either, do you? If that's the case, then I won't need to say anything to you, I'll just go find a more reliable big shot."

The young man, do you take me for a child? Am I such an idiot that can be easily provoked? Yes, yes, those bastards from the military intelligence agency bypassed us and directly captured Chikov... But why should I tell you?

Weiren's eyes blinked, and he looked at Yichen.

Yi Chen said bluntly: "Look, you know Chekhov's name, so you also know he didn't commit any major mistakes, right?"

Vitya shook his head: "I know that Chekhov was caught, and I also know some other things, but I can't be sure that Chekhov didn't do anything wrong. Maybe he's guilty, maybe he's innocent, maybe he'll take the fall for someone else, who knows? What business is it of mine?"

Yi Chen smiled: "So, dear Mr. Wei Lun, we don't talk about the Military Intelligence Bureau... Hmm! Five million US dollars, I donate five million US dollars to renovate the office building of Scotland Yard? How's that, are you satisfied? Five million US dollars can make the whole building look brand new."

Viggo walked away wisely and retreated to the side about a dozen steps to look at the flowers.

Weichuan looked around and Jester rolled his eyes and retreated with Feri.

"Vikings said you're a reliable person, I can trust his words and I'm willing to believe him," Wei said in a low voice. "I know some things about you, my two or three deputies all have good relations with you, don't they?"

Yi Chen smiled and leaned in closer to Wei Lun, almost whispering into his ear: "You see, I'm being very careful. All I need you to tell me is where Chekhov is now, and... and how those people plan to deal with him... You understand, we won't do anything big, but the reputation of the British intelligence agency isn't exactly good..."

"Five hundred million dollars? Not a small sum, but not enough to renovate our office building, understand? The expenses for the office building are allocated directly from above, huh? Five hundred million dollars... Hmph."

Yi Chen smiled and said warmly, "You see, I'm a straightforward person. Let's forget about that damned Scotland Yard office building... Five million US dollars, open a small account at a Swiss bank, this amount is enough to buy a comfortable and spacious villa on the shores of Lake Switzerland... A little something, huh?"

  "Did you swear?"

Yi Chen nodded, saying seriously: "I swear in the name of the Holy Father, I will not leak any news, nor will I do anything to harm you. I still need your care and protection in the future."

The corner of Weichun's mouth slightly hooked upwards: "Then I'll be the head of the household."

Yi Chen nodded and said: "The money will definitely be in your account within two days."

Wei Long let out a long sigh and said: "You understand, in my sensitive position, I sometimes need to violate a little bit of principle, I need some powerful friends, this is what you said... Maybe, we will have something that needs your help in the future. Hmm? I am also helpless, I cannot refuse your face, right?"

Yi Chen smiled and continued smiling: "I understand, I can feel your emotions. At the same time, I'm also very grateful that you gave me this honor."

"Vauxhall Bridge... all the computer-related facilities are in the basement there, sometimes MI6's technical department alters some evidence. The people are also inside the building, but I don't know which room, huh? Are you satisfied now? About a month later, it will be closed for trial once, good luck to you."

Yi Chen sank into thought, subconsciously nodding his head.

Vetrov stepped back a few steps: "I don't understand why Chekhov, a Russian hacker, is worth so much money, but I think you must have your reasons. I hope you won't do anything too outrageous, my term is almost up and I also want a decent retirement, got it?"

Yi Chen smiled: "Of course, there's a reason... And you can rest assured, I won't act rashly. That place is the headquarters of Military Intelligence Division 6, I don't have that kind of power, perhaps I should consider hiring some powerful lawyers."

"Weishan smiled: 'I hope so, we haven't met today, have we?'"

Yi Chen nodded: "I don't know you, sir... When you're free, please go to my company for a cup of tea, I'll prepare some small things you like."

Weidu nodded and loudly called out to Weijinsi: "Weijinsi, old friend, I'm in a hurry, so I won't take a look at those two horses. Goodbye, thanks for inviting me over today."

"Remember that account number, it's ×××××××..." Yī Chén quickly pulled out a small notebook and wrote it down, then said: "Don't worry, I'll destroy this piece of paper."

Weir nodded and got into his own car, without waiting for Vickers to come over and see him off, he quickly drove away.

Vikings walked up to Yichen, smiling and watching as Weilun's car drove away, suddenly asking: "Have you received the news?"

Inspector Lestrade looked up at the ceiling and moved his neck, saying: "How could it be? Scotland Yard is a place of justice and purity, and Mr. Villon is the embodiment of British justice and purity, I haven't received any news."

Vikings burst out laughing, Yichun held back for a moment, and then laughed along with him. The two shook hands, and Yichun bid farewell.
