Chapter Fifty-Four A Promise
The white bones and skulls were somewhat better, after all, they had experienced a battle with evil spirits on the top of Luoyun Mountain, and it wasn't particularly scary. But Suifeng was young and inexperienced, having never been in love before, and almost lost his consciousness due to being unstable.
This place is no ordinary illusion, he is now a disembodied consciousness, and if he's not careful, he may never return.
In a daze, he subconsciously lifted one foot and headed towards the heavenly maiden who was scattering flowers on the other side. Once this step was taken, it wasn't just saving Moon Evening that became impossible, even he himself would be unable to turn back.
"Hahaha" a silvery laughter suddenly echoed in Suifeng's heart, the surrounding time and space froze, the solemn and majestic Bodhisattva Luohan, the enchanting and seductive dispersing flower jade woman, everything was frozen in place. Suifeng suddenly woke up with a start, staring blankly at his own foot suspended in mid-air, his back covered in cold sweat.
But after the fear faded away, a thread of doubt floated up again, whose was that clear and lovely laughter just now?
He couldn't let him think too much, and the Buddha's voice in the entire space was a little louder than before. Su Feng had already vaguely guessed that this space might be the conscious space created by Yue Xi's consciousness. If this place was completely occupied by these Buddhist sounds, Yue Xi would probably fall into the Buddhist way forever and couldn't transcend.
Just thinking about such a noble and elegant beauty becoming a shaved nun in the future makes one's heart anxious.
What to do, what to do? Ah, right! Liang Ze'er said to use the Du Ren Jing! He should have thought of a countermeasure long ago, but when he was out of his body, he completely lost his senses. When he entered Yue Xi's body, he was still in a daze and hadn't come back to himself yet. It wasn't until now that he remembered to use the Daoist Du Ren Jing to counter the Buddhist Miaoyin.
It doesn't matter how this skill should be used to take effect, nor can I control whether my shallow skills can produce the desired effect.
As the wind blows, I begin to recite: In the beginning of the blue sky, the green falls empty, and the great floats on the earth. Receiving the original beginning to enlighten people, countless superior products, the original beginning heavenly master, should say this scripture. Revolving ten times, summoning the ten directions, first arriving at the seat. Heavenly true great god, upper saint high honor, wonderful conduct true person, no reins numerous crowds, riding empty to come. Flying clouds cinnabar, green canopy jade wheel, feather cover hanging shade. Flowing essence jade light, five colors dense and luxuriant, piercing and resplendent in the vast space. Seven days seven nights. All heavenly sun moon, star constellation, jade balance stopping wheel, divine wind quiet and still, mountain sea hiding clouds, heaven without floating mist, four airs clear and pure. One country land earth, mountain river forest wood, all flat and equal, no longer high or low, earth all made of green jade, none having different colors. Many true attendants, original beginning heavenly master, suspended seat empty floating above the five-colored lion...
He was now a disembodied consciousness, his physical strength still in his original body, and could not be brought with his consciousness. However, with the wind, one word and one sentence, the sound was like a bell, the tone was like a wave, sweeping all directions. A section of scripture was recited, the entire space was subtly trembling, and the light shadows of those heavenly Buddhas and Bodhisattvas also faded a lot.
At this time, outside of Su Feng's consciousness, Ling and Liang were both staring at the two stiff bodies with a serious expression.
Suddenly, a surge of energy burst out from Su Feng's body, blowing his clothes without wind, as if he was operating at full capacity. A shallow halo of chaotic color with yin and yang also appeared on the surface of his body, not only that, although Su Feng's eyes were closed at this time, but his lips moved, and a voice of Taoist scriptures burst out from his mouth.
Ling's face was filled with astonishment, staring blankly at everything in front of her.
Looking at Liang Tou'er, the worried expression on his face faded a lot, and instead, a hint of a smile appeared. "Ling Ge, if we say that among us three, only one person can solve Moon Evening's situation, then that person is undoubtedly Xiao Feng."
Looking at Ling Yan, although there was a hint of calmness in his eyes, he still seemed puzzled. Liang Tou'er continued to tell him about his experiences with Sui Feng at the Mu Rong's house. He then said: "After the incident at the Mu Rong's house, it was as if he had grown up overnight. Later I discovered that Xiao Feng is a brilliant and extraordinary person, destined for great fortune and opportunities. Given time, he will definitely be able to turn danger into safety this time around, so you can rest assured."
Unaware of the conversation outside, his mind was clear and surrounded by the wonderful sounds of the Buddhist scriptures. At this moment, he only had one thought: to find Moon Evening and rescue her from the Buddha's sound.
He pinched the lotus flower, as if he were in a state of emptiness, and walked slowly step by step. Originally, because of his father's influence, Feng had some faith in Taoism, and now he himself was reciting the "Duoren Xianjing". As the saying goes, "To save others, one must first save oneself", after several recitations of the scripture, a deep mark was quietly left on his heart.
Chanting scriptures to save people is not uncommon in the history of Buddhism and Taoism. The effectiveness of such spells does not depend on the strength or weakness of the practitioner, but rather on their cultivation.
The cultivation here is not simply a matter of high or low skills, but rather the understanding of the Tao and its "virtue". Laozi said, "Virtue is the beginning of the Tao, and the Tao is the application of virtue." Without virtue, there is no Tao. Therefore, although he is still young and his skills are not yet deep, he has been immersed in the classics since childhood, reading various Taoist scriptures, with a profound accumulation of blessings and a precise and subtle mind, his cultivation is by no means shallow.
He walked all the way, with an unceasing divine music in his mouth. Although he didn't spit out lotus flowers like the immortals in myths, or scatter flowers like the heavenly maidens, he could still purify the air within three feet around him, making the vital energy rise and the yin and yang harmonize. Under his feet, a Taiji light halo actually appeared.
He was like a Taoist Heavenly Master who had burst into the Western Pure Land, all Buddhas retreated and Arhats gave way. Those white skeletons, Luoshen Yunnü and other tests of his will also disappeared without a trace.
At this moment, Su Feng was completely immersed in the Taoist scriptures and had no idea about the changes happening outside. Wherever he went, there must be a dizziness of space, and the Buddha's sound by his ear finally stopped continuing to change, with a few points of decreasing trend.
Another layer of mist dispersed before his eyes, and he stopped in his tracks. Moon Evening was lying right in front of him, as if she had fainted. What surprised Wind Following was that there was a golden statue of the Great Buddha of Maitreya in front of Moon Evening. The Buddha's chest bore a "卐" Buddhist seal, shining with dazzling golden light, casting a devout glow over the entire sky and earth.
Startled by the wind, I woke up from reading the Immortal Scripture just now. Looking at it this way, that great Buddha should be the one who cast such a spell in the sarira swallowed by Moon Evening. For some reason, the great Buddha didn't notice himself, and quietly stood aside, quietly waiting for an opportunity, if he could strike down the great Buddha with one blow, then he could rescue Moon Evening.
The Great Buddha's eyes were cast downward, as if to avoid the endless karma in the mortal world. His hands clasped together, he chanted: "I am a compassionate Buddha, since you have taken the relics I placed in the Shaolin Buddhist Pagoda, it means you have a connection with me. From now on, leave the worldly dust behind and take refuge in my Buddhism."
After finishing speaking, the golden right palm of the Great Buddha flipped over, with a huge "卐" character in the center of his palm, pressing towards Yue Xi's body!
With no inner power, how can he save? In a state of urgency, a loud shout: "Yuanshi Tianzun!" These four words were used by Su Feng with all his energy and spirit, just like a thunderclap, the sound waves rolled, somewhat similar to the ancient gods, speaking out and following the law! Four big green characters spewed out from Su Feng's mouth, towards the golden palm of the Great Buddha suspended in mid-air.
The character "yuan" first collided with the Buddha's palm, and the swastika on the Buddha's palm was already shaking. Before the Buddha could stabilize it, the next three characters had heavily crashed onto it!
These four characters appeared in a physical form, but were still transformed from the sound waves of the wind. They almost shattered the entire right palm of the Great Buddha.
The Great Buddha suddenly realized that there was an extra person in this space. He raised his previously lowered eyes and looked towards the wind. In front of him, a young man with red lips and white teeth, exuding an aura of elegance, had two sparkling eyes shining brightly. His hand was pinching a lotus flower, and behind him, a faint purple figure seemed to be standing, as if it were there but also not quite there.
The Great Buddha withdrew his right palm, clasped his hands together in a prayer-like gesture and said: "This humble monk has no part in this. Since the female donor has swallowed the relics that this humble monk transformed into at the time of his Nirvana, she is destined to be connected with the Buddha. I wonder what brings the donor here on this occasion?"
Startled by the wind, I thought the Great Buddha was just a Buddhist family's magic trick, but unexpectedly it could speak. Later, when I heard "the relics transformed at the time of Nirvana", I understood that this Great Buddha was actually the transformation of Master Wúzhuǎn, and his true body was probably long dead, leaving only a trace of consciousness from before Master Wuzhuan's death.
Suī fēng yě zhǐ shì gāng kāi shí shàng jīng le yī jiào, hòu lái biàn yòu huī fù le yī liǎn de dàn rán. Shǒu niē dào yìn, sī háo bù tuì, "zhè wèi yuè xī gū niáng shì zài xià de pēng yǒu, wǒmen huì qù shǎolín tōu le dàshī de shělí yě shì wèi le qū zhú yuè xī tǐ nèi zì xiǎo jiù yǒu de hán mài. Wǒ yǒu yī juàn dào jiā dù rén xiān jīng zài shǒu, dàshī hái shì zǎo xiē tuì què ba."
"Huan's disciple..." The Great Buddha pondered for a moment, then gazed at the carefree and detached Xun Feng, "This young man has such great virtues and accomplishments, he must be someone with great destiny and wisdom. In that case, which place..." Wu Can fell into deep thought.
"If I, a poor monk, don't step down, what will you do then?" The great Buddha closed his eyes again, his voice calm as usual.
"The Primordial Heavenly Sovereign says that the words spoken in the scriptures are all internal names and implicit sounds of the heavenly emperors, as well as the internal taboo names and hidden names of the demon kings. They are not ordinary words used in the world. The Supreme Sage has already become a true person, penetrating the profound and subtle, able to understand its chapters... He didn't even notice him, slightly closed his eyes, and continued to recite the True Scripture for Delivering People."
As soon as the sound rang out, the Buddhist light and Sanskrit sounds around all trembled, and even the golden Buddha light on the body of the Great Buddha quickly dimmed.
"Please recite the scriptures slowly," Wu Can whispered to himself, "I can leave now, but I still hope to have a gentleman's agreement with you."
"What terms?" Feng was taken aback, never expecting this uninvited guest to bring up conditions with him.
"If the donor can promise to retreat three feet when he sees my Dharma name next time, I will lift the spell myself. Otherwise, if the donor acts impulsively, even if he can save this girl, he might hurt her spirit with a slight carelessness. I hope the donor will think thrice."
"Have you seen your Dharma name?" A gust of thought blew by, "And only once?"
Wu Xiang responded, "Indeed, it only requires once. As for the specific circumstances, you will understand when the time comes. I, a poor monk, would not deceive you. If the donor agrees, let's make an oath."
"This old monk must have calculated something, unfortunately I'm not a physical body now, otherwise I could use the Book of Changes to calculate it. Should I accept or not?" A gust of wind blew by, hesitating, but when he saw Moon Evening fainting beside him, he thought of the scene he had sensed when his consciousness first entered Moon Evening's body, and his face couldn't help but flush red. He sighed in his heart, having already seen Moon Evening's body was a huge offense, if she made another mistake, wouldn't he be adding to his guilt?
"Alright, I'll agree with you then." Xiang Feng's heart felt even more guilty, so he readily agreed and made a vow with his own moral integrity.
