The Eighty-first Patriarch of the Great Earth Dharma Wheel Rebirth Ghosts Revolve in the Body Due to Cause and Effect

The Eighty-first: The Great Righteousness of the Earth's Karma Wheel Turns the Ghosts and Spirits in the Cycle of Cause and Effect in the Body

Baiyun stood at the entrance of Qingqiu Mountain with a sullen expression, feeling quite wronged. He had thought that after receiving Hou Tu, he could return to drinking and having fun, as Huang Jing's place was truly enjoyable, with wine to drink and servant girls to attend to him. But just as he turned around, his master called him back again, saying that he still needed to receive the goddess Hou Tu.

It's no wonder that Bai Yun is like this, thinking that he also has a childlike mentality, although his cultivation is not bad, but he is still young, and his ideals are very direct and simple, just wanting to have fun.

Houtu saw the red-haired kid standing at the mountain gate with his head hung low from a distance, knowing that Zhou Cheng had expected her to return, and she couldn't help but blush with some embarrassment.

"Little White Cloud, I've troubled you twice to wait for me, delaying your playtime. Brother Shi is indeed being polite."

"No, no, no. The princess came to Qingqiu Mountain to play, and we were all delighted. I just went back to the house to fetch the ginseng fruit, and the princess said that Hou Tu Niang Niang is the greatest good person of the Wu tribe, one of the greatest kind-hearted people in the vast wilderness. If she can stay on Qingqiu Mountain forever, it would be great. I just wanted to go play at the Clear Peace Lake Dragon Palace, and then pick up the princess afterwards." Little White Cloud's face turned as red as her hair when she heard Hou Tu say this, and indeed, children speak without reserve.

Hou Tu couldn't help but blush, thinking that her senior brother's door had seen her as a witch, and yet he didn't see her as an outsider. He was courteous and yet extremely magnanimous, and in the future, his prospects would be boundless. It's just that these words were somewhat embarrassing to say.

"Little ghost, don't talk nonsense, quickly take me in to see your master." Thinking of the matter at hand, Hou Tu also hastily wanted to go in and see Zhou Cheng.

Xie Yuxuan, Zhou Cheng still stood there at the window, gazing out at the floating clouds. Hou Tu came in, but he didn't turn around.

After seeing Hou Tu, he felt a sudden chill in his heart, and the matter of the ghost was probably not that simple.

"Senior brother, isn't Hou Tu worthy of your respect and kindness?" Hou Tu's mood had sunk somewhat, and the joy from understanding the mysteries of heaven was gone.

Zhou Cheng heard this and slowly turned around, calming his mind as he looked at Hou Tu for half a stick of incense time, but didn't say anything.

"Master, Master Brother, why are you looking at me like that? Is there something wrong with Hou Tu?" Hou Tu was made a fool of by Zhou Cheng and became bright red in the face, her five fingers grasping the corner of her Daoist robe, as if she was too ashamed to show herself.

"Hehe, nothing much. My junior sister said I didn't treat you with a straight face, so I'll just calm down and take a good look at you. Hehe..." Zhou Cheng thought that since he had to come anyway, he might as well put his mind at ease, sat down on the cushion, and spoke with a smile."

Houtu heard this and felt a slight relief in her heart, but also a sense of loss. She thought about the main issue and sat down on a cushion, speaking slowly: "Shixiong, you once said that the six paths of reincarnation are present in the underworld, and the ghosts' transmigration is due to their karma. On my way back, I coincidentally met a human who was building a bridge over water, called Zhou Bridge. The arched bridge has six holes, which divide and merge the water's momentum in an instant. At that moment, I had a feeling, so I returned to Qingqiu Mountain."

"Since you've already realized it, the six paths have appeared. I won't hide it from you either, Brother." Zhou Cheng and Hou Tu sat facing each other, as if they were about to discuss the Tao, and began their conversation.

"The six paths of reincarnation were originally a transitional place for the creation of living spirits, but when a living spirit dies and its ghost emerges, it should return to these six paths. It's like the momentum of the six holes in a bridge, dividing and merging into the six paths, with no end to the cycle of rebirth, and no end to the ghosts. Zhou Cheng also came to understand this, and exclaimed loudly. Human planning is in the hands of people, but success is not just up to heaven, it's also up to human talent. With preparation, there's no need to fear."

  "What is the Six Paths?"

Zhou Cheng paused for a moment, picked up the ceramic tea cup on the bamboo tea tray, which contained Qingchushan Maofeng tea brought back by Bai Lu, took a sip, and then slowly said:

"The Six Paths are further divided into the Path of Form and the Path of No-Form. The Path of Form includes the Human Path, the Animal Path, and the Plant Path; the Path of No-Form includes the Heavenly Path, the Asura Path, the Hungry Ghost Path, and the Hell Path. All beings on the Path of Form can attain a physical body, which is called the flesh body for humans, the original body for animals and plants. The spirits born from these paths, whether human or demon, can all cultivate the technique of the Original Spirit, and after death, they will have a ghost soul that will transmigrate into the next path. The Path of No-Form, except for the Heavenly Path, only has the Original Spirit, which can transform but has no physical body. Those who are reborn from the Heavenly Path are often wealthy and noble, or people with superior qualifications for cultivating the Tao. The Hell Path is a place where many ghost souls suffer. Therefore, the Hell Path is the lowest, and the Heavenly Path is the highest."

Houtu was astonished to hear that there were so many branches of the Way. "How are the Six Paths distinguished? Is it not like flowing water, where all who choose a path will enter?"

"If the six paths are present, wouldn't it be a great chaos in the world? I have already spoken about this. The ghosts and spirits need to reincarnate, so that the living can thrive. Although humans do not go through reincarnation temporarily, they can still pass on their three souls and seven spirits from generation to generation, relying on the strength of their initial birth. However, this is not good in the long run.

Ghosts and spirits must rely on their past karma to enjoy the blessings of later generations. Those with heavy karma must enter the hell path, receive punishment, and wash away their karmic forces before they can reincarnate again. Those with lighter karmic forces must also be cast into the hungry ghost path or the asura path, shed their karmic forces, and then re-enter the cycle of rebirth.

Those with the lightest karmic forces should enter the animal or plant path, go through the cycle of rebirth, shed their karmic forces, and then re-enter the human path. All living beings have karma, as long as they do not accumulate karmic forces, they can reincarnate in the human path generation after generation, seeking to turn the wheel of heaven and shed their mortal bodies.

If one accumulates good deeds and great virtues in this life, or if one is protected by the residual merits of others, they will be reborn into the heavenly path, enjoying all kinds of blessings and good fortune in the world. Glory, wealth, and nobility are trivial matters; even becoming a monarch is possible."

"Is there also a way to transcend the six paths?"

Zhou Cheng nodded upon hearing this, and Hou Tu was indeed clever.

"Having recited the Huang Ting scripture for three thousand volumes, I have faith in both Taoism and Buddhism. However, when it comes to actual cultivation, if one achieves great success, they can transcend the cycle of reincarnation and are no longer among the ordinary people."

"It's really like that, and in the future, all living spirits will have a place to return to." Hou Tu seemed to think of a good idea and couldn't help but smile, "Can the Wu tribe do it too?"

Zhou Cheng's eyes flashed with a hint of unusual color and he replied, "The Wu tribe doesn't need to be used."

"Hmm, that's right. The Witch tribe doesn't cultivate the yuan god, so where did the idea of reincarnation come from? It's really useless. However, it's a bit sad that when the Witch tribe dies, their spiritual consciousness disperses. The Heavenly Dao indeed has its gains and losses." Hou Tu also accepted Zhou Cheng's point about the Witch tribe having no yuan god and didn't dwell on it anymore. "It seems that the reason why the Asura tribe can't give birth is because of this one path of the Asura. After the six paths of reincarnation are established, the Asura path will emerge, and Minghe Shixiong can finally be at ease as the sect master."

"I also hope that the senior brother will inform me of the specific way to do things, and later I will not bother the senior brother again. This time when I return, I have built a six-way wheel of reincarnation, and I will come back to thank the senior brother. Firstly, I want to thank the senior brother for blessing all living beings, and secondly, I want to thank the senior brother for simply answering my questions about the causes and effects of the wheel of reincarnation." Hou Tu seemed to have already seen the six paths standing between heaven and earth, carrying out the grand feat of the wheel of reincarnation, and was somewhat eager to return.

Zhou Cheng heard this and avoided the gaze of Hou Tu, his expression flashing with another hint, "The Six Paths of Reincarnation weren't built in a day, you can go back now, when the time comes, you will naturally understand."

Zhou Cheng was also hesitant, thinking repeatedly and still couldn't bear to tell Hou Tu the specific method, fearing that she would be frightened by unclear calculations. Moreover, saying too much might lead to being calculated by others in the future, adding unnecessary trouble.

Although Hou Tu didn't get a specific method, he at least understood the basic principle of the Six Paths Reincarnation and found his direction. He stood up to bid farewell: "Thank you, senior brother, for your repeated hospitality. I will take my leave now. From this day on, I vow to build a good Six Paths Reincarnation, benefiting all living beings. If not, I will never see senior brother again." After speaking, he turned and left.

Zhou Cheng opened his eyes and gazed at Hou Tu's cloud disappearing into the distance, muttering to himself:

"Once you've lost track of each other, it's probably hard to meet again."
