The end of humanity

  The end of humanity's calamity

Xun Daozi let out a loud roar, and a mouthful of fresh blood spurted out from his mouth. The fine light shield on his body flashed and disappeared without a trace. Xun Daozi's body arched back, fell to the ground, eyes tightly closed, teeth clenched.

On the edge of Xun Dao Mountain, three-eyed snow lions roared one after another, wanting to rush out of Xun Dao Mountain but were blocked by an invisible force every time they reached the edge, and could only let out waves of mournful cries.

Until the late afternoon, the tens of thousands of people finally entered Xun Dao Mountain under the escort of more than 200 blood-soaked witches. As soon as they entered Xun Dao Mountain, the people who arrived earlier quickly took away and settled these later arrivals. The more than 200 witch warriors who entered Xun Dao Mountain fell to the ground one after another, only two giants were still standing upright with their bodies covered in blood.

Jade Qilin hastily fed the Dan medicine to the fallen Wuzu warriors, and handed two more Dan medicines to the two standing Wuzu giants.

The two giant men of the Wu tribe who were still able to stand with difficulty were Shi Yong and Shi Ba. Although they were barely standing, they were already exhausted, and after taking the elixir handed over by Yu Qilin, they sat down on the spot to meditate and regulate their breathing.

Two hours later, Shi Yong and Shi Ba woke up one after another, opened their eyes to look around, and saw that the other two hundred or so Wu tribe warriors were also sitting cross-legged on the ground, closing their eyes to regulate their breathing, with steady breaths, apparently unharmed.

Shi Yong's face flashed with a hint of joy, but was immediately replaced by a bitter expression. He stood up and looked around, seeing the three-eyed snow lion beasts pacing back and forth along the edge of Xun Dao Mountain, their faces filled with deep anxiety. A white jade qilin stood in the distance, gazing out at something. Inside Xun Dao Mountain, figures were moving about, accompanied by the sound of crying.

Shi Yong took big strides towards Yu Qilin, with Shi Ba closely following behind.

Jade Qilin sensed the movement of Shi Yong and turned his head to look at them, then turned around to welcome them. Soon, both parties stood still not far apart. Shi Yong clasped his fists in front of his chest and said: "I dare to ask fellow Taoist to pass on a message to seek an audience with Daozhang, I am Shi Yong from the Wu tribe!" At this time, Jade Qilin had already attained the Taiyi Golden Immortal realm, and his cultivation was not inferior to Shi Yong's. Therefore, Shi Yong clasped his fists in respect, addressing him as a fellow Taoist.

The Jade Qilin opened its enormous mouth and said in a deep voice, "Our master went out to meet you but hasn't returned yet. At this moment, he's lying down at the place where he met you. I've been searching for a way to get him back, but the mountain spirits are restricted from leaving the Seeking Dao Mountain range. Neither Snow Lion Big Brother nor I can go out, so we were thinking of asking the two of you to do us a favor and bring our master back. Would you be willing to help?"

Shi Yong and Shi Ba exchanged a glance, clasped their fists and said: "We are willing to go!"

"Then thank you both first!" Yu Qilin said with a voice that was trembling with suppressed excitement.

Shi Yong and Shi Ba rushed out of Xun Dao Mountain, running back the way they came. They soon arrived at the place where they were supposed to meet Xun Daozi. They saw Xun Daozi lying on the ground, wearing a white Taoist robe, but didn't notice the scattered flesh in front of him. Instead, they squatted down beside Xun Daozi and found that he was just unconscious. Shi Yong immediately picked up Xun Daozi and turned around to rush back to Xun Dao Mountain.

As soon as Shi Yong stepped into Xun Dao Mountain, the three-eyed Snow Lion and Jade Qilin rushed to his side, looking at Xun Daozi in his arms with a tense expression.

The three-eyed Snow Lion Beast immediately took out a pill and stuffed it into Xun Daozi's mouth, then took Xun Daozi from Shi Yong's hands and instructed Yu Qilin: "Take care of the Wu tribe brothers!" before rushing towards the cave with Xun Daozi.

Yu Qilin and Shi Ba nodded and said, "Thanks to the two friends for lending a hand! Please follow me!" He turned around and led the two of them towards the Xundao Mountain Cave Mansion.

More than a month later, Xun Daozi finally woke up from the cloud bed in the cave, and for the first time felt a wave of pain throughout his body. His spirit sank into his body, only to see that many of his meridians had burst; The two elixirs in his dantian were no longer as vibrant as before, looking somewhat wilted; The two air masses in the sea of consciousness, the purple air mass was rotating slowly, and the gray air mass that had started to rotate slowly earlier was still again; Even the "Hunyuan Seal" floating on top seemed to be lacking in spirit. The "Assassinating God Gun" on the purple air mass was also slightly dimmer; The thread of "Tie Xin Fu Chen" felt somewhat dull; There was no change in the five-element flags around the five-colored elixirs in the dantian; The light of the "Hunyuan Furnace" in the dantian was introverted, rotating slowly.

Xun Daozi searched again, but it was a great injury to his primordial energy, and his body suffered unprecedented damage, fearing that he would not recover in a hundred years.

Xīn shén tuì chū, xún dào zǐ chuán xùn zhāo lái sān yǎn xuě shī shòu, wèn jí xiàn zài qíng xíng, jí yī zhòng wū zú. Zhī dào le xún dào shān de rén zú yǐ ān zhì, mù qián qíng xù wěn dìng, shí yǒng děng wū zú zhàn shì yǐ huí qù, zhè xiē shí rì lù xù yǒu jí shǎo rén zú táo jìn xún dào shān, yě dōu ān zhì.

Xun Daozi instructed the three-eyed Snow Lion Beast to pay close attention and make every effort to rescue the human tribe who arrived at Xun Dao Mountain, also paying attention to the Hong Huang information. He himself would go into seclusion to heal his wounds, and any matters would be handled by the three-eyed Snow Lion Beast as needed.

Xun Daozi retreats to heal his wounds, while the carnage in Hong Huang continues unabated. One by one, members of various tribes struggle to escape to places that offer them protection.

More than a hundred years later, the vast land of Honghuang no longer saw a single human tribe. Xun Daozi was still closed for healing. Within a radius of several thousand miles around Xun Dao Mountain, more than 100,000 people survived under the protection of Xun Dao Mountain. Kunlun Mountains, Shouyang Mountains, and the coast of Donghai each had nearly 100,000 people who managed to survive. The rest, including Wanshou Mountain and Lingjiu Mountain, also had tens of thousands of people who escaped disaster.

The Human Tribe of the Desolate Era had thrived for nearly a hundred thousand years, spreading across the vast lands of the Desolate Era, with a population nearing one trillion. Yet, after two hundred years of slaughter by the Witch and Demon Tribes, less than one million remained. What a tragic fate!

As the vast wilderness could no longer find humans, the witch and demon tribes also stopped their pursuit of humans. The witch tribe believed that they had collected enough souls to cast sufficient witchcraft instruments and no longer cared about the remaining humans. The demon tribe was cautious about the sacred Taoist temple and its disciples, as well as Zhenyuanzi, an old and powerful being, and also believed that the remaining humans could no longer shake their position, so they too abandoned their final pursuit. The remaining humans were able to survive in hiding under various protections.

Xun Daozi secluded himself for 300 years before coming out, and with that 300-year period, he took in a large batch of elixirs to restore his body. He was able to refine it once again, and his physical body had some improvement, which could be considered a small gain. The original energy of various treasures had somewhat recovered, but to fully recover, at least another thousand years of warmth would be needed. However, for Xun Daozi, a thousand years wasn't far away, and in his heart, he felt it was worth paying this price to save tens of thousands of people, after all, not everyone could withstand that kind of pressure.

He got down from the cloud bed, and Xun Daozi walked out of the Wudao Cave. He strolled on the platform in front of the cave entrance, exercising his bones and feeling refreshed all over. Unconsciously, he opened up his stance and started practicing Taiji Fist. Slowly, he entered the state of mind for the fist, retracting his fist and lifting his leg, changing freely, the momentum of the fist rising and falling, the Tao rhyme naturally born. Immersed in the realm of Taiji, Xun Daozi's punches and kicks all brought out mysterious and profound marks in the void, with mystical trajectories appearing and disappearing, moving around him; the spiritual energy of heaven and earth gathered, flowing with his fists.

After a while, Xun Daozi withdrew his fist and stood still, his eyes lightly closed, silently sensing the remaining aura. After finishing a set of punches, Xun Daozi felt as if his entire body had been purified. Refreshed, it seemed that all the magical artifacts inside him had gained some vitality; not to mention the lively feeling in his own body.

After a while, Xun Daozi opened his eyes, walked into the bamboo pavilion, brewed tea, and sent a message to San Yan Xue Shi Beast.

Before long, San Yan Xue Shi Beast, Yu Qi Lin and Liu Ling arrived at the Bamboo Pavilion together.

Liu Ling first paid respects to Xun Daozi, then stood aside and waited. Xun Daozi asked about the events of the past few hundred years. The three-eyed snow lion beast answered one by one, with the jade qilin adding some supplementary explanations on the side. This allowed Xun Daozi to understand what had happened during that period of time. Most importantly, he learned that Mount Xundao was no longer restricted. The three-eyed snow lion beast also ran out for a trip and found out that both the witch and demon tribes had stopped hunting humans, and the vast wilderness was once again free from human presence.

Xun Daozi heard this and felt a mix of sorrow and anger, remaining silent for a long time.

Then, Xun Daozi walked out of the cave and visited the human beings living in Xun Dao Mountain. Those human beings saw Xun Daozi and knelt down to thank him for his protection.

Xun Daozi comforted the crowd of people, encouraging them to live a good life. Next, Xun Daozi passed on some simple physical refinement techniques to these people, letting them cultivate well.

Xun Daozi made some arrangements and then entered the Hongyuan, heading to the residence of Shi Yong and other witch tribe members to thank them.

In just one hour, Xun Daozi was standing in front of the gate of Wu Zu Shi Yong's residence. This time was different from last time. This time, only a few strong men were seen guarding the gate, and the scene of humans and witches bustling around was gone, replaced by a cold and quiet atmosphere.

Those robust gatekeepers saw Xun Daozi and hastily came over to ask: "I don't know when you arrived?"

Xun Daozi made a bow and said: "I am Xun Dao, from Mount Xundao. I have come to see the chief of the Shi Yong tribe. Is he available?"

One of the Han men heard this and hastily said: "The clan leader is waiting, Master Daoist, please follow me!"

That man led Da Zhi to the stone gate outside the residence, turned around and clasped his fists: "Please wait for a moment, I'll go ask the clan leader to come and welcome you!"

Xun Daozi bowed: "Trouble you to inform!"

Hanzi entered the temple and was immediately greeted by Shi Yong, who led a group of Yao tribe elders to welcome him. He first clasped his fists in greeting and smiled, saying: "Master Dao has come from afar, I'm afraid we didn't greet you properly, please forgive us!"

Xun Daozi bowed his head and returned the courtesy: "The clan leader is too polite, I have come to thank you specially. How dare I trouble the clan leader to welcome me?"

Behind Shi Yong, a group of elderly people also came forward to pay their respects. Xun Daozi returned the courtesy one by one. Under Shi Yong's lead, they entered the stone hall and sat down separately.

After sitting down, Xun Daozi bowed to the crowd and said: "In the past, I had troubled you all to escort the four ethnic groups to Xun Dao Mountain. I have not been able to thank you in person until now. If any of you need my help in the future, please send a message to Xun Dao Mountain, and I will do my best to assist."

Shi Yong and the others heard Xun Daozi's promise, their hearts were overjoyed, knowing that Xun Daozi was a great talent. This promise was extremely significant in terms of human relationships. Shi Yong immediately said: "Thank you, Master Dao! If we need your help in the future, we will definitely come to trouble you!"

They also talked about some of the strange things they had seen in the desolate land. Xun Daozi learned that at that time, Shi Yong's troops had escorted the surrounding tribes to Xun Dao Mountain, with a total of hundreds of thousands of people gathered from the tribes. Several elders and Shi Yong led 1,000 warriors to escort them, but along the way, they encountered demonic tribes who chased and killed them. By the time they reached the vicinity of Xun Dao Mountain, only over 200 Wu tribe warriors were left, and tens of thousands of people from the tribes remained. Fortunately, Xun Daozi had come to their aid; otherwise, it was feared that not even one Wu tribe warrior would have made it to Xun Dao Mountain. At this moment, several elders also sighed quietly.

Xun Daozi asked about the current residence and how many clansmen were left, Shi Yong replied that there were still thousands of clansmen, young and old, and proudly mentioned the talented young man Xing Tian in the clan.

Xun Daozi was also surprised to hear the name of Xing Tian, and did not expect that Xing Tian would be born in this small Wu tribe. With a plan in mind, he stayed for a while before bidding farewell and leaving.

PS: Thanks for the reward from Drunken Laughing Maitreya friend!
