Forty-seven: Wishing to roam in the vast wilderness
Xun Daozi's words unexpectedly pulled the three old men out of their state of mind that could only prove the Heavenly Way and the Primordial Chaos, stirring up their will to fight for that one thread of life.
It can be said that if it weren't for the words of Xun Daozi today, Laozi and the other two would have entered the 'Dà Luó Jīn Xiān Guǒ' position much earlier, leaving Jiē Yǐn and Zhǔn Tí far behind, and would have gained a lot of time to cut off the three corpses and prove their Dao. They wouldn't have been like Xun Daozi's previous life, where they became saints after Nüwa created humans and had to use their merits to open up the heavens and prove their Dao, becoming saints with merits. Although Laozi and the other two were slightly stronger than Nüwa before proving their Dao, and their realm was higher, they didn't have an absolute advantage, and even Jiē Yǐn and Zhǔn Tí, who became saints by relying on their merits, weren't weaker than them. In this life of Xun Daozi, Laozi and the other two had a clear advantage, but if Nüwa were to suddenly go and create humans again, it's possible that Laozi and the other two wouldn't be able to withstand the pressure and would become saints by establishing their teachings and merits. After this, the Honghuang might deviate from its original legend even further.
But at this time, Xun Daozi didn't have the energy to think about these things, as he was being forced by Tongtian to cultivate all sorts of magical arts.
Since that day, the three of them had a long conversation, and Xun Daozi revealed his idea of traveling to Honghuang. His hard days were coming: Yuanshi was busy refining magic treasures for him to protect himself; Laozi was also busy refining several furnaces of elixirs for him in case of emergency; Tongtian was responsible for training Xun Daozi's combat skills and various life-saving techniques.
This isn't the case, every day at dawn, Tongtian would capture Xun Daozi and train him. First, they would engage in actual combat, with Tongtian using his Taiyi Jinxian cultivation to unleash various attacks on Xun Daozi, who would then use his learned divine abilities to counterattack. Whether it was a long-range or close-quarters battle, or whether they used magical treasures or weapons, they would practice fiercely.
Then, they would move on to practicing various survival and escape techniques, with Tongtian using his Daluo Sanxian cultivation to unleash all sorts of attacks, including magical treasures, weapons, and divine abilities. Xun Daozi had to survive and escape under these attacks, using the Five Elements Escape Technique, Thunder Escape, Golden Light Escape, shrinking himself to the size of an inch, hiding and concealing himself, and suppressing his breath. As long as he could survive, nothing was off-limits.
Occasionally, Tongtian would even use his Daluo Zhenxian cultivation to attack Xun Daozi with his full strength.
Every day, he was trained to exhaustion and covered in wounds, then given a pellet of medicine refined by Tongtian to heal his injuries overnight, only to be dragged out again at dawn the next day for another round of grueling training.
These bitter and sorrowful days have passed for twenty years, until Yuanshi has refined the treasure of Baoyan; Laozi has refined several furnaces of various elixirs before it can be considered over.
For twenty years, the boundary of seeking Tao has not been broken through, but the magical skills and martial arts of close combat and long-range attack have been raised to a very high level; various escape methods are naturally free to transform; hiding and hiding, collecting breath The method can also deceive Tongtian without paying attention; the magic of Yuanshi - shrinking the earth into inches - is even more strengthened in practice. This is an extremely powerful magic, which can reach thousands of miles in one step when practiced to a very high level, and there is no distance when practiced to the limit. One thought arrives, and now Xun Daozi can also take a few tens of thousands of steps, which is indeed the ultimate escape magic for fleeing and escaping.
On this day, the thatched cottage of Yuanshi opened its door, and Yuanshi came out from inside, with a smile all over his face, holding a small, grayish seal in his hand, walking straight towards Xun Daozi who was practicing Tongtian.
Yuanshi arrived, Tongtian also stopped practicing and looked for Daozi. Daozi was able to catch his breath, saw Yuanshi, and hurriedly went up to greet him.
When he arrived in front of Yuanshi, he hurriedly paid his respects and asked about his well-being. Yuanshi smiled and handed the small, grayish seal to Xun Daozi, saying: "Look at the seal that Master has refined for you!" His face showed a pleased expression.
Xun Daozi took over the small seal, and suddenly felt an unusual heaviness. The grayish aura on the seal seemed to be flowing, extremely mysterious and unpredictable. Turning the seal face over, the four sides of the seal face were like the trajectory of the Tao, as if they were infinitely transforming into all sorts of mysterious and unknown changes. In the middle, three words - Hunyuan Seal - seemed to be branded with the mark of the Great Way, extremely mysterious. The entire seal face was a murky color, obscure and unknowable. Xun Daozi liked this grayish small seal at first sight, and quickly thanked Yuanshi.
Yuanshi stopped Xun Daozi from performing the ritual and pointed at the small seal in Xun Daozi's hand, saying: "Fortunately, we have the Qiankun Ding, which has preserved the pre-heavenly properties of this seal. When it was refined, the words 'Hunyuan Seal' appeared on its surface. Its size is up to one's heart - as large as a mountain peak or as small as a mustard seed. It can be used for offense and defense. When attacking, offer it out and it can fix the opponent's spirit and soul, transforming into a giant seal that smashes towards the enemy's hand. If the enemy cannot use their divine sense to protect themselves, they will be crushed into pulp and their spirit and soul will not escape. If encountering an enemy attack, offer it out and transform it into a giant seal to protect yourself in front. No matter what divine abilities or magical techniques are used, it can defend against them. You have refined it well, use it wisely, and there is another wonderful use that you must discover for yourself."
Then, Yuanshi took out a jade pendant and handed it to Xun Daozi, saying: "This is the jade pendant that Master has refined. There is a divine thought of Master stored in it. If you encounter an irresistible danger, you can sacrifice it to save your life."
Xun Daozi took over the jade pendant, carefully tucked it into his bosom and sincerely thanked Yuan Shi.
Yuanshi took out the Qiankun Ding again and instructed Xun Daozi, "You should carefully refine the 'Hunyuan Seal' for the next few days. Wait until your Shibo refines the elixir before leaving." After finishing speaking, he urged Xun Daozi to return to his room to refine the 'Hunyuan Seal'.
Xuanzong followed his words and bid farewell to Yuanshi, Tongtian, and returned to his thatched cottage to peacefully practice the 'Hunyuan Seal'.
He used the method of soul and blood sacrifice to refine the "Hunyuan Seal" because he loved this small, gray seal with a hint of chaos. Refining it with his soul and blood would allow him to unleash its full power without worrying about losing it. As long as he had a spiritual connection with it, even if it was taken by someone else, such as the Golden Money Treasure, he wouldn't worry about being separated from it.
Xun Daozi's several treasured items - "Tiqing Dustpan", "Huxin Sword", "Hunyuan Furnace", "Qiankun Ding" and this "Hunyuan Seal" were all refined using the soul sacrifice method. The soul sacrifice was actually a supreme divine ability from the "Yuqing Refining Tool Technique". It required coordination with the "Yuqing Refining Divine Technique" to be used, otherwise ordinary cultivators wouldn't be able to easily split their souls to refine treasures.
Even if they could, it would only be for extremely important and powerful treasures. At most, one or two items would be refined in this way. Nobody would refine treasure after treasure like Xun Daozi did. This was also because Xun Daozi's soul was naturally strong, and he had practiced the "Yuqing Refining Divine Technique" to make it a part of his body's instincts.
The self-running Zhou Tian Gong also had the effect of tempering and nourishing his soul, allowing him to refine treasure after treasure with his soul. In the Hongyuan world at that time, most people used either heart blood sacrifice or divine sense imprinting to refine treasures. Heart blood sacrifice was mostly used by cultivators who were good at refining their physical bodies.
Divine sense imprinting required repeatedly leaving an impression of one's divine sense on the treasure, using a long period of hard work to leave a mark of one's own divine sense on the treasure, allowing for its free use. This method had the drawback that the divine sense imprints left on the treasure could be easily erased by external forces, causing the treasure to become ownerless and be obtained by others.
This was also the helplessness of ordinary cultivators who didn't have a technique to temper and nourish their souls.
One year later, Xun Daozi had initially refined the "Hunyuan Seal", and his split divine soul had also been nourished to a certain extent. When the "Hunyuan Seal" entered his body, it did not warm up in the dantian like the "Hunyuan Furnace" and "Qiankun Ding", but instead drilled into the sea of consciousness and stayed on top of that gray swirling vortex, only moving slightly when Xun Daozi refined and used it. Xun Daozi decided to leave it at that for now, and would continue to refine it while traveling along the edge of the Desolate Expanse, and now was the time to go out.
Xun Daozi walked out of the thatched cottage and suddenly heard Laozi's voice echoing in his mind: "Come to Shibo's place for a moment."
Zi Yun turned around and walked into Laozi's thatched cottage. As soon as he entered, he saw Yuanshi, and Tongtian was also in the house, so he quickly paid his respects to each of them.
After the ceremony, Laozi spoke: "Since you want to travel to the Desolate Land, we won't stop you. With your abilities, there shouldn't be much danger. Hiding in the cave to cultivate has no benefit for your spiritual growth, it's time for you to go out and experience the world. Your Master has prepared some elixirs for you to take with you, just in case. If you truly encounter an enemy that you can't defeat or escape from, report our names and the cultivators of the Desolate Land will show us some respect."
After finishing, he refined and took out many jade bottles and jade boxes, and handed over the elixirs one by one to Xun Daozi, explaining in detail the uses of various elixirs. Xun Daozi carefully put the elixirs into his own purple gold gourd and placed them separately. He thanked Lao Zi.
Tongtian also handed over a jade to Xun Daozi and said, "This jade also has a thread of my divine thought, which can emit three sword energies that I, the Great Luo True Immortal Realm, have exerted with all my might. Use it to protect yourself."
Xun Daozi took over and carefully put it away, also thanking Tongtian.
Yuanshi smiled and said, "From now on, I won't give you anything else. Be careful when traveling through the vast expanse, but don't worry about looking back or forth. Whatever consequences arise, I'll take responsibility for them. Don't tarnish the reputation of my Kunlun Sanqing. Also, the method I've passed down to you is allowed to be transmitted by you at an opportune moment." After finishing speaking, a hint of vast and mighty pressure was revealed.
Xun Daozi hastily thanked his master for his care, and in his heart, he was also somewhat stirred. His master was willing to take on all the consequences for him, and the divine method he taught could be transmitted at any time. For Yuanshi, who had always been strict, this was a great trust, which truly moved Xun Daozi from the bottom of his heart.
Xin Dongzi, with an excited heart, knelt down in front of Laozi, Yuanshi and Tongtian, knocked his head nine times, stood up and said: "Master, Master's wife, Master's brother, the disciple is leaving!" After finishing speaking, he walked out of Laozi's thatched cottage and headed towards the outside of Kunlun Mountain Cave Mansion.
The three old men in the thatched cottage also looked somewhat downcast, with a sense of traveling thousands of miles.
