Chapter 10 Wudang Internal Strength

  Chapter Ten: Wudang Internal Elixir

"Wudang Nine Yang Gong" as the Wudang school's ultimate skill, even Song Qingyu didn't get to pass it on, only Zhang Sanfeng and the eight heroes of Wudang got to pass it on, and even Mo Shenggu was only passed on a few years ago.

So it's not that Zhang Sanfeng and others are unwilling to pass on, but rather Song Qingchu's cultivation has not yet reached the level of being qualified to practice.

This time, the exception was made to teach Zhang Wuji because he needed the pure yang energy from the "Wudang Nine Yang Skill" to counteract the cold poison of the Xuanming Divine Palm. Otherwise, back in the Ice and Fire Island days, Zhang Cuishan would have also taught the "Wudang Pure Yang Skill", so why didn't he teach it to Zhang Wuji?

The internal skill of Wudang, in fact, has three kinds: the first is to start practicing from the beginning, called "Wudang Internal Skill"; the second is the advanced skill of Wudang Internal Skill, called "Pure Yang Child Skill", this skill must be practiced with a child's body, that is to say, only after mastering "Pure Yang Child Skill" can one proceed, otherwise, it will either abandon previous efforts or damage tendons and veins; The third part is the most advanced "Wudang Nine Yang Skill", practicing this skill can advance to the magical Xiantian realm, but must first complete both "Wudang Internal Skill" and "Pure Yang Child Skill" before starting to practice "Wudang Nine Yang Skill".

Song Qingchu was also envious and resentful of Zhang Wuji being taught the Wudang Jiu Yang Gong, but he knew that he himself was still far from qualified. He hadn't even completed his training in Wudang Neigong, let alone having the qualifications to practice Chunyang Tongzi Gong, not to mention Wudang Jiu Yang Gong.

Since "Wudang Jiuyang Gong" is now "tasteless to eat, a pity to discard" for himself, Song Qingchu didn't have any other ideas.

While Zhang Wuji was practicing "Wudang Nine Yang Skill" to resist the cold poison, Song Qingchu was also practicing "Wudang Internal Skill".

Don't look at Zhang Wuji's current life or death, but as Song Qingshu who knows what happens later, it's not seen that way. You have to know 'Heaven will entrust a great responsibility to this person, must first torment his heart and will, labor his muscles and bones, starve his body and skin, empty and exhaust his body'. Otherwise, there wouldn't be the later all-powerful Zhang Jiao master.

So in order to avoid repeating her own tragedy and being left behind by Zhang Wuji, Song Qingchu also worked hard to cultivate herself.

The night was already deep, but in Song Qing's room, the starry fire was still lit. On the bed, Song Qing sat cross-legged, with his five hearts facing upwards.

"Wudang Internal Elixir" has a total of twelve layers. The first layer is the foundation, practicing fist and footwork, familiarizing oneself with the body. Wudang sect generally practices Wudang cotton palm. The second layer is the skill of breathing and exhaling, coordinating with walking, sitting, and lying down until the body feels energized. The third layer is moving the small heavenly cycle, the fourth layer is moving the large heavenly cycle, the fifth layer is refining the skin with internal energy. Layers six to nine are practicing flesh, changing tendons, tempering bones, and practicing organs. The tenth layer is refining the orifices, the eleventh layer is changing blood, and the twelfth layer is washing the marrow.

The first eleven layers of the Song Qing Shu have already been cultivated, including Li Rou, Yi Jin, Du Gu, Lian Zang, Lian Qiao, and Huan Xue. Now it's stuck on the 12th layer, the Mo Mai pass. This is a crucial pass for Wudang internal power, but in fact, not only Wudang internal power, all practitioners of internal power in the world are stuck at this Mo Mai pass. Once past this pass, no matter what kind of internal or external power you cultivate, it will progress rapidly.

Song Qingxue spent the night cultivating, but didn't make any major breakthroughs. He first circulated his true qi through the macrocosmic orbit, then followed his usual routine of internal power refinement, starting from the outside in: skin, muscles, tendons and vessels, bones, five organs, acupoints, and blood. Finally, he attempted to wash his marrow.

The original Song Qing had been stuck on the marrow washing stage for over a year, and now he didn't expect that by replacing himself, he would suddenly have a huge explosion of character, and complete the marrow washing in one night after crossing over.

He had never been in contact with martial arts before, and now although he has inherited the original Song Qing's martial arts, memories and experiences, but for him at present, his understanding and insight into martial arts are still far from the original Song Qing. Moreover, the inner strength is even more profound and difficult to understand, and he has not yet fully understood the Wudang internal strength he has learned, let alone innovate.

He is now practicing internal strength, but just following the original memory of Song Qing's book to practice step by step. In fact, he still doesn't understand this internal strength at all, such as why the meridian line should go that way, and he only knows what it does, not why it does it.

Actually, the original Song Qing had already started to practice internal alchemy, but internal alchemy is only the first hurdle of cultivation. The original Song Qing basically relied on himself to explore and cultivate, so his progress was not great. You might say that there were still Song Yuanqiao and other members of the Wudang Seven Heroes? Judging from Song Yuanqiao's attitude towards Song Qing before, it can be known that he would not have the patience to explain things to Song Qing. As for the other members of the Wudang Seven Heroes, Song Qing was Song Yuanqiao's son and it was Song Yuanqiao's responsibility to teach him, so they also couldn't overstep their authority.

This stage is the most difficult, not to mention other things, just the pain of washing the marrow is enough to make you drink a pot. Moreover, this stage involves the human body's bone marrow, which is a place that requires carefulness like the brain. To complete this stage, one must be extremely cautious and meticulous. Because a single carelessness can lead to bone fractures and damage to the tendons and veins, resulting in instant death. As for losing control of the true energy and colliding with the brain, causing cranial shock, confusion, loss of memory, and even madness, that's still considered relatively mild.

So, completing this section of the meridian must be done with great care and caution, it is also the most difficult to pass through. If the true energy is light, it will not have any effect, if the true energy is heavy, it may hurt the bone marrow, it is indeed a situation where being too light or too heavy is not acceptable, one must carefully grasp it, and cannot force it in one direction.

In "Wudang Internal Elixir", the key to completing this section of meridians is the four-character phrase "Heaven and Earth are not surprised, the Tao is natural". It emphasizes that one should not fear hardship, but also should not force it to be natural. When the skill is achieved, it will naturally pass through. However, when described in books, it seems easy, but in actual practice, it is extremely difficult. The pain can be endured, but how does one know when the skill has been achieved and how can it naturally pass through?

Song Qing Shu felt that his skills had long been ready, but somehow he just couldn't pass.

Song Qing didn't complete the marrow washing, nor did he feel any disappointment. He just kept transporting and circulating the true qi in the macrocosmic orbit to warm and nourish it, increasing its thickness. Although he couldn't complete the marrow washing, his internal strength could still be increased through continuous circulation and transportation, it's just that the speed was slower.

The scorching true energy kept circulating and wandering inside his body, feeling extremely comfortable. Song Qingchu was a bit immersed in it for the first time practicing. He didn't know how long he had practiced, but suddenly felt a little short of breath, dizzy, and alert in his heart, so he quickly stopped practicing, withdrew his energy, and got up.

This is a case of over-practicing. Practicing internal energy and cultivating true energy is a process of refining and transforming the body's essence. This essence refers to the original essence in the human body, which is usually obtained from daily food intake. However, the amount of original essence in a person's body is limited every day, and if it is over-consumed, symptoms such as lack of energy and dizziness will appear, like what happened to Song Qing earlier. Timely replenishment is necessary, which is the principle behind "rich in literature but poor in martial arts". Loving material possessions is just a waste of money, with daily expenses that are not small.
