Chapter 3: The Trouble Brought by Yin Yin
In the early morning, carrying breakfast for Jiang Le, Jiang Hua walked to the entrance of the antique shop. Just as he was about to push open the door, a shout suddenly came from behind him.
"Excuse me, auntie in front, please wait a moment."
Jiang Hua subconsciously turned around, and saw two police officers in uniform chasing after him. The two police officers were a man and a woman, both young, one looked 22 or 23 years old, the other looked 26 or 27 years old. The man had regular features and a sturdy build, while the woman was pretty and curvy. They both looked quite impressive.
Shouting at her own, it was a female police officer.
"Auntie hello, I'm Zhou Yan, and this is my colleague Liu Dawei. We are police officers from the Qingyang Old City Sub-bureau." The female officer smiled and introduced herself first.
Liu Dawei also politely continued: "Hello Auntie."
Jiang Hua smiled and responded with a sentence, then asked: "What can I do for you?"
"Right, so yesterday evening we received a report of strange crying sounds coming from Antique Street, which was disturbing people's rest. However, when my colleague arrived, the crying stopped. We asked several households with children on Antique Street, but none matched the location of the crying sound. It was too late to disturb other residents' rest, so this morning we came again to investigate and found that the location of the crying sound matches your antique shop the most. So, we'd like you to cooperate with our investigation. Do you have any issues with that?" Zhou Yan's police demeanor was impeccable, her sweet smile making it impossible for people to refuse her.
"Only my son is in the store, he's almost graduating from high school, not a kid. The baby crying sound definitely can't be from here, but if you have any doubts, you can come in and take a look."
"Thanks for your cooperation, Auntie." Zhou Yan smiled and followed Jiang Hua into the antique shop.
Looking around, Zhou Yan asked in surprise: "Auntie, why is there nothing in your store? Don't you plan to open for business?"
Jiang Hua smiled and said: "I just took over this store recently, I'm not very familiar with antiques, so I want to change businesses and sell some ornaments."
"Accessories, I quite like them, will definitely come to patronize the business later." Zhou Xian lightly smiled and diverted Jiang Hua's attention, letting colleague Liu Dawei observe around.
"Really? Well, thank you then, your words have given me a bit more confidence." Jiang Hua said with a happy smile.
A moment later, Liu Dawei shook his head at Zhou Yan.
Zhou Yan looked around and fixed her eyes on the back door of the antique shop, asking: "Auntie, is that a place to stay?"
Jiang Hua nodded.
"Then can we go in and take a look?"
"Alright, follow me." Jiang Hua only then reacted, realizing he had been so focused on talking that the breakfast he bought for his son was still in his hand.
As soon as they opened the back door, the old-fashioned backyard made both Zhou Yan and Liu Dawei's eyes light up.
This family knows how to enjoy themselves.
Then the three of them saw a young man in a single garment exercising on the empty ground in front of the house not far away.
It's said to be physical exercise, but it doesn't seem right. The young man's upper body remains still, only his legs move in a strange step, shifting between movements like flowing clouds and water, naturally beautiful. It looks like a kind of dance.
Looking closely, however, it's discovered that this step method is not simple. The movement of the feet contains Taoist philosophical meaning. Between treading and starting steps, it's even more impossible for people to see through.
Liu Dawei's face changed color after a few glances.
"Ah!"
Once again, Jiang Le took a small step forward with his feet, opened his eyes, and although he was sweating profusely, he felt refreshed and exhilarated.
The Tianxia Eight Steps had already fully merged with his instincts, and as long as he thought about it, he could take a step out.
It's just that the ninth step still lingers in a state of epiphany, as if there is still something left in his heart but he can't quite grasp it. This makes Jiang Le very anxious, and he asks Master why this is so. Master just smiles and doesn't say anything, leaving Jiang Le feeling frustrated and stuck.
Just as he was about to repeat the Heavenly Demon's Eight Steps, Jiang Le's expression changed and he stopped in his tracks, turning around to look towards the direction of the shop door.
"Huh? Police? What are they doing here?"
Seeing a man and woman in uniform, Jiang Le's heart slightly stirred.
"Xiao Le, these two are police officers from the old city branch, they came to understand the situation. The two police comrades, this is my son Jiang Le. If there's anything, you can ask him directly." Jiang Hua walked over, putting down the breakfast in his hand on the stone table while explaining.
Jiang Le smiled and asked: "What's going on?"
"Was it last night's strange baby crying sound that appeared? I don't know if you heard it or not?"
Jiang Le was taken aback. A baby's cry? Could it be that Yin Yin is... I'll go, the little girl must have gotten into trouble again.
Zhou Wei said and stared straight at Jiang Le's eyes, she who had received professional training in police school, knew very well how to distinguish whether a person was lying or hesitating, and could see some characteristics from the eyes.
Jiang Le's eyes now seemed to have heard it, and he appeared to be aware of some inside information.
Zhou Xian had some numbers in her mind.
After a moment of stunned silence, Jiang Le nodded bluntly and said, "I heard it, I think she cried for about an hour, it was so sad that it made me nervous."
"Then can you determine where this baby's cry is coming from?" Zhou Yan continued to ask calmly.
"It's not clear now, you know that it was so late and everyone was very sleepy, their spirits were not concentrated and their judgment was not high."
Zhou Wan nodded and then glanced at the courtyard, continuing: "We can take a look around?"
Jiang Le nodded and said, "That's no problem, go ahead."
Zhou Ai and Liu Dawei exchanged a glance, then Liu Dawei quickly walked into the house.
Jiang Le sat down calmly, picked up the breakfast prepared by his mother, and started enjoying it with a tranquil expression.
Zhou Xian quietly sized up Jiang Le.
This young man looks very ordinary and belongs to the type that would be lost in a crowd.
But police can't judge a person by appearance, in this era, it's wrong to judge someone by their looks.
Moreover, the mysterious footwork that Jiang Le showed just now, and his expression when he heard the baby's cry, plus his young age, yet being so calm in front of the police, all these behaviors indicate that he is not simple.
Unfortunately, Jiang Le thought he was mature and behaved properly, but he didn't know that in the eyes of the police, he had revealed so many flaws.
A moment later, Liu Dawei walked out of the room.
Zhou Xian looked at him, Liu Dawei slightly shook his head, indicating that he hadn't found anything.
"Hehe, then I won't disturb you anymore, Auntie. If you have any new leads, remember to contact me." Zhou Yan said with a smile.
Jiang Hua nodded and said, "This is no problem, we are all law-abiding citizens, we understand this principle."
After the two policemen left, a thoughtful expression appeared in Jiang Le's eyes.
It seems that in the future, things related to cultivating the Way cannot be continued in the antique shop. If another strange and inexplicable event occurs, it will likely cause even more trouble.
The headquarters of the Ziyun Mountain Sect must be completed as soon as possible, that will be the main battlefield for future cultivation.
At this moment, Zhou Yan and Liu Dawei walked out of the antique shop, exchanged a glance, both wanting to speak but hesitating.
"Xiao Xian, what did you find?" Liu Dawei asked first.
Zhou Xian's slender fingers gently brushed against her temples, and she smiled lightly: "This Jiang Le is telling a lie."
"Oh?" Liu Dawei was taken aback.
His expression told me that he knew the sound of a baby crying, and maybe even knew it very well. However, you went in and didn't find any clues, so I didn't take any action." Zhou Yan said seriously.
Liu Dawei praised: "It's no wonder that you're the top graduate of Longcheng Police Academy, your observation skills are really impressive."
Zhou Yan smiled shyly and curiously asked: "Dawei Ge, you must have discovered something too?"
Liu Dawei nodded and said with a serious expression: "You saw that young man's morning exercise, didn't you?"
Zhou Xian thought for a moment and said, "It seems like he's practicing some kind of footwork."
Liu Dawei said: "That's right, it's a step method. His step method is very magical. I simply compared it and found an astonishing fact."
"What's the truth?"
Liu Dawei said: "If he is allowed to prepare well, within ten meters, I may not be able to shoot him."
