Chapter 001: Pangu Opens the Sky and Changes Fate
The goddess Nüwa had already decided to create something out of thin air, so she stopped in her tracks, calmed her mind, and observed her surroundings. All around her were countless mountains stretching endlessly, like a giant dragon coiled around the earth. From afar, the dragon lay prostrate, its five claws grasping the ground, its head raised high, its body curved, spanning millions of miles! The mountains were lush with vegetation, tall trees, and spiritual herbs, including ginseng and black hair moss, covering every inch of land. Sheer cliffs and precipices, waterfalls cascading for thousands of miles, their clear sounds audible everywhere. Among the mountains, one peak stood out, piercing the clouds, hanging from the heavenly mechanism, supporting the azure sky. Nüwa wore a pink palace dress, floating in mid-air, her slender jade feet standing on nothing, lightly touching the void. Beneath her feet were lotus flowers of pink jade, and her jade hands fluttered about like butterflies, changing into countless forms, stirring up the heavenly mechanism.
As time passed, Nüwa felt an inexplicable sense of resonance, knowing that this land was a place of divine creation, perfectly suited for her to create all things. She came to the edge of a pond, squatted down, and reached into the water to scoop out some mud. Unconsciously, she began to shape it with her hands. As Nüwa manipulated the mud, a wisp of creative energy emanated from her body, mysterious and profound. The mud in her hands seemed to be imbued with an invisible force, becoming increasingly vibrant with life. As the mud gradually took on the form of a living being, Nüwa entered a state of mystical emptiness. And so, on the first day, Nüwa created the first living creature.
This creature is now called a chicken.
"The name I give you is Ji." With Nuwa's words, the first day of creation came to an end.
On the second day, Nüwa remained by the pond and after another round of kneading, another animal appeared before her eyes. Compared to the chicken earlier, this creature was even more complex. Nüwa named it a dog. On the third day, she created a species called pig. On the fourth day, sheep were born. On the fifth day, cows emerged. On the sixth day, horses came into being. By the seventh day, Nüwa stopped and realized that after creating these animals - chicken, dog, pig, sheep, cow, and horse - all living creatures in the vast wilderness had a flaw: none of them possessed a body of primordial energy. At this time, all beings with primordial bodies were transformed from their later forms.
Then Nüwa fell into deep thought, "If I were to create a life with my magical powers, its original body would be the pre-heavenly Dao body. How should it be?" As soon as Nüwa's thoughts were formed, the destiny of the Long River responded accordingly, and the heavenly mechanism was established. Many great gods who had a connection with her all felt something, and even Hong Jun, the ancestor of the Dao, who was sitting quietly in the Purple Mansion, opened his eyes and revealed a hint of a smile. Nüwa also sensed the changes in heaven and earth, and took out a handful of yellow earth. This earth was heavier than Mount Tai, and its weight could not be measured even by billions of jun. When she pinched it, its shape did not change, and even with Nüwa's sacred power, it was difficult to damage it in the slightest. As soon as she took it out, it gathered the essence of the infinite earth veins around her, emitting a dense yellow light that filled the air with a bright orange glow, revealing the vitality of creation. This was indeed the most precious treasure of Nüwa, the rarest treasure of the Honghuang world, and the pre-heavenly sacred soil.
"Haha, my way is accomplished!" Just as Nüwa was about to create humans, a loud laugh was heard. Nüwa frowned and saw a Taoist in a green robe standing beside her. The Taoist's body was surrounded by mist, with auspicious clouds following him. His sword-like eyebrows and starry eyes shone brightly, and a nine-colored halo revolved behind his head, radiating light. He wore a feathered crown on his head, had his hair tied up, and wore a Taoist robe and hemp shoes. With an air of elegance, he bowed to Nüwa, sweeping his sleeve and saying: "Greetings, Your Majesty. I have arrived at the right moment, without being invited. Please forgive me."
Nüwa's slender eyebrows slightly furrowed, as pale as distant mountains. Her jade hands moved deftly, and the incantation was automatically activated. The heavenly mechanism rotated, and the Taoist mechanism revealed itself. Nüwa already knew the beginning and end of things, and she smiled faintly at Qingpao Daoren, saying: "Brother Xuemi Dao is indeed skilled. In the past, relying on that pre-heavenly calabaza vine, not only did he obtain a small amount of pre-heavenly soil from Nüwa's hands, but now he can also share in the creation of good fortune and virtue."
Qing Xuan said solemnly, "This is not my doing, but the manifestation of fate. You wouldn't say otherwise, would you, Niangniang? Besides, do you think that simply combining the pre-heavenly essence and soil can create a complete pre-heavenly body? Are you not afraid that the earth's energy will solidify, making it impossible to move or stir, resulting in just a lump of clay?" As he spoke, he waved his sleeve again, smiling lightly as he looked at Nüwa.
Nüwa's face changed greatly as soon as she heard the words. Although the primordial soil in her hand was full of spiritual energy and vitality, it was ultimately like an inanimate object, without any signs of spirituality. With this material, it was likely that the creation would be just as Qingxuan said, only able to create a body made of clay. Nüwa thought about this and couldn't help but look gloomy, her emotions can be imagined. After all, the opportunity to prove her Dao was right in front of her, yet she couldn't create the kind of being that Heaven's Way wanted. How could she not be anxious!
Qing Xuan didn't say much after seeing it, but instead took out a golden-yellow gourd vine with a faint green aura, and a small, delicate gourd that resembled jade. He said: "This gourd vine has been refined nine times through repeated rituals, condensing the essence of heaven and earth's spiritual machine. The Three Lights Divine Water contained within this gourd is nourishing to all living things, reviving the dead, and is a divine object for healing the flesh and bones. It is also an excellent medicine for cultivating one's innate spiritual root. These two items are not inferior to your friend's Innate Soil of the First Heaven."
Nüwa took the treasure and saw a faint green aura in the golden gourd vine. The green aura was weak, but with a gentle shake of the Qinghua wood energy, fresh flowers suddenly bloomed on the ground, emitting an intoxicating fragrance that captivated the mind and calmed the spirit. It was clearly the aura of creation and the spiritual rhythm of heaven and earth. As soon as she held the gourd in her hand and activated its power, she heard the gentle sound of flowing water and a soft, ringing voice echoing around her ears. Although it didn't show its color, the nourishing energy of creation surged up to the sky, clearly containing the great treasure of life and growth.
Nüwa nodded in satisfaction, and with a flash of pink light in her hand, her fingers fluttered like a peacock spreading its tail, as if dancing flowers and butterflies. The lights of creation flashed by, and with a wave of her sleeve, the lights of the rainbow crisscrossed, driving the whip in her hand to merge the pre-heavenly soil, three lights, and divine water. As the water and earth merged completely, a bright red light appeared at Nüwa's fingertips, and a ball of pure blood flowed out, flying towards the spirit creature. After the blood mixed with the spirit creature, Nüwa took out a bit of the spirit creature and repeatedly kneaded it with her fingers. In this kneading process, Nüwa also applied the principles of creation she had cultivated over the years to the body's meridians. The skeleton, blood vessels, and meridians were not visible for long, and soon a woman appeared before Nüwa. However, no matter how hard Nüwa tried, the spirit creature transformed into a woman, and Nüwa slowly stopped her hands, wondering why all the humans she created were women.
"Queen, this solitary yin does not give birth, solitary yang does not grow, the creation of yin and yang is hard to abandon one." Qingxuan on the side smiled and said. As soon as Qingxuan's voice fell, Fuxi who was contemplating the Tao suddenly had a movement in his heart, and in the dark, the heavenly mechanism guided him. Fuxi's spirit moved, and a ball of essence and blood shot out, rushing to the sky and transforming into a rainbow light flying towards Nüwa's location.
Nüwa was overjoyed at the sight, and immediately drove her essence and blood into the yellow mud in front of her. Countless men then emerged from the mud, followed by women. As soon as they appeared, spiritual wisdom arose on its own, and every pore on their bodies opened wide to absorb spiritual energy. In an instant, a whirlpool of spiritual energy formed, sweeping up the essence of countless days and months, and auspicious clouds and mist also gathered around them, swirling like a tide, surrounding their bodies, just like the celestial gods of the Ninth Heaven!
Then the goddess saw that the creation was slow, so she picked up the gourd vine whip again. With a flick of her precious vine, countless rays of light flashed, and the gourd vine transformed into countless silk threads. The sky was filled with the shadows of vines, stirring up the yellow mud, and shaking off countless human figures. After a brief moment, the yellow mud was used up, and everywhere in sight were densely packed human silhouettes, numbering in the tens of millions, half male and half female!
Qing Xuan gazed at the human in front of him, feeling a mix of emotions. As Qing Xuan was the benevolent corpse of Xuan Wei, he had inherited the most human-like qualities, so he felt the deepest connection to humans. Now that he saw the birth of humans, his heart was filled with complex emotions, deeply sensing the uniqueness and difficulty of human existence. It's worth noting that humans were not born as the main protagonists of heaven and earth like in later times. At this time, humans only possessed a portion of the primordial energy of creation and the pulse of life from the first creation, which was merely a part of Nüwa and Xuan Wei's vital energy, far from being the main characters of heaven and earth.
However, if one were to obtain the help of the Three Pure Ones of Kunlun and the Two Saints of the West, it's not impossible to become the master of heaven and earth. But the path ahead is likely to be treacherous. Qing Xuan sighed deeply, his eyes filled with complex emotions as he gazed at the human tribe, tears welling up in his eyes. Unfortunately, Qing Xuan had yet to finish his sigh when a series of thunderclaps echoed through the void.
Ps: Regarding the human race having the bloodline of Nuwa and Fuxi, I'd like to explain that there are three reasons. Firstly, in terms of yin-yang creation, no one is more suitable than Fuxi, who was born together with Nuwa. Secondly, it's a matter of qi operation. Nuwa and Fuxi were the physical manifestations of the primordial yin-yang energies, carrying most of the yin-yang energy of the entire universe, establishing the most fundamental energy foundation for humanity. The transformation of yin-yang and the unity of Taiji are not necessarily the thickest foundation, but they must be the most stable foundation. Thirdly, it's almost enough to pave the way for Fuxi to become the Heavenly Emperor.
