Chapter 1: Pangu Opens Heaven and Changes Fate
Ps: In these few chapters, the protagonist Xuanwei's part is not much, but after all, it is necessary to modify some settings in Hongyuan, so everyone can take a quick look and don't need to pay too much attention. It will return to the main line from the next chapter, that's about it??????
Nine people in a row descended for thirty-three days and then heard one of the Zhunti Taoists ask: "I don't know where the Zhenyuan Taoist friend is now? What's the name of the immortal mansion?"
"Haha, let me introduce you to my humble abode. The mountain is called Wanshou Mountain and the place I reside in is called Wuzhuang Guan. Although it's a rural area, it has its own unique scenery. Please follow me." With that, he led the way on his horse, using his magical powers to guide them, until they arrived at the foot of a mountain. Xuanwei and the others couldn't help but exclaim in admiration, "What a wonderful place! It's truly a blessed land!"
Only see this mountain high and steep, the momentum is majestic, the top touches the Milky Way, white cranes often come to perch on the fir trees, and black monkeys sometimes hang from the wisteria. The sun shines on the forest, layer upon layer of red mist surrounds; the wind blows in the valley, fluttering millions of colorful clouds fly. Birds chirp wildly in the bamboo grove, pheasants fight in the wildflowers. Only see that thousand-year-old peak, five blessings peak, hibiscus peak, towering and majestic, emitting a radiant glow; Wansui stone, tiger tooth stone, three-pointed stone, protruding and sparkling with auspicious energy. The grass is lush in front of the cliff, and the plum blossoms are fragrant on the ridge. The economy is dense and dense, the芝兰 is clear and light. Deep forest eagles and phoenixes gather thousands of birds, ancient caves kirin govern millions of beasts. The stream water has feelings, winding and turning, often looking back; the peaks are continuous, layer upon layer, self-circulating. Also see that green pagoda tree, spotted bamboo, blue pine, relying on each other for thousands of years, competing with the beauty of flowers; white plum blossoms, red peach blossoms, emerald willows, shining brightly in the three springs, competing for beauty. Dragon roars and tiger howls, cranes dance and monkeys wail. Deer emerge from the flowers, blue birds sing facing the sun, this is a true blessed land, Penglai Wonderland is just like that. Also see some flowers blooming and withering on the mountain top scenery, clouds coming and going on the ridge peaks.
As the crowd arrived at the mountain gate, they dispersed in all directions, each returning to their own cloud and mist. Following Zhenyuanzi's footsteps as he walked up Mount Wanshou, Xuán wēi carefully observed this place that would stand for billions of years in the Western world, a land of good fortune that had never been included in the Buddhist sect's incense offerings.
Before long, he lifted his head and saw a cluster of pine trees, with pavilions and towers appearing and disappearing. With nimble footsteps, he silently observed the clouds and mist rising and falling, quietly watching the clouds rolling and unfolding at the edge of the sky. Unhurried, he arrived in front of a pavilion, where he saw:
A slope of pines, cold and serene;
A path of bamboo, quiet and secluded.
White cranes came and went, carrying floating clouds;
Monkeys above and below offered fruit.
In front of the gate, the pool was wide and the tree shadows were long;
The stone was cracked, and the moss flowers bloomed.
The palace was deep and mysterious, with purple mist rising high;
The towers and pavilions were ethereal, with red clouds falling.
This was truly a blessed land, a spiritual realm,
A place of good fortune, a cave of clouds.
Human affairs were few, and quietude reigned;
The stillness gave birth to the Taoist heart.
Looking around, he saw the majestic wind of morality;
Indeed, this was the abode of the gods.
On the left side of the mountain gate, there is a stele with ten Taoist cloud patterns and divine characters engraved on it, which reads: "Wanshou Mountain is a blessed land, Wuzhuang Guan is a cave heaven." Above the gate, there is a couplet: "The immortal gods' mansion where longevity is long, and the Daoist's home where life is shared with heaven." Tongtian burst out laughing and flattered: "Haha, Zhenyuan Daoyou, your Wanshou Mountain is indeed one of the best mountains in the vast wilderness, a place where virtuous people live. The scenery is beautiful, pure and natural, with a deep meaning hidden within. I am envious!" When Zhenyuanzi heard such praise, he naturally smiled all over his face and said repeatedly: "I don't dare to accept it, I don't dare to accept it. It's actually the Three Pure Ones' residence on Kunlun Mountain that is truly a blessed land of immortals. Not only does it occupy the hub of the spiritual energy of the vast wilderness, but also connects with the ancestral vein of the vast wilderness above and the energy of billions of lands below. This humble mountain of mine can't be compared to that!" When Zhenyuanzi flattered, Yuanshi Tianzun nodded slightly and smiled, while Laojun stroked his white beard and smiled without speaking.
As Zhenyuanzi shook off the dust, the gate opened by itself. He then led everyone through the second gate and walked towards the main hall. In the center of the main hall, there was a table with a precious mirror on it, called the Heavenly Mirror, one of the few spiritual treasures in the world that could monitor all living things in the universe. In front of the mirror were a jade plate and a bronze furnace. The jade plate was used to hold the Ginseng fruit.
It's strange to say, but every time this treasure mirror is opened, it requires two ginseng fruits to be offered for its enjoyment, showing the nobility of heaven and earth, not allowing it to be easily used. Therefore, except for Zhenyuanzi, others are useless when holding it, because there are no ginseng fruits on their hands, this treasure mirror is like a chicken rib, completely useless. Of course, this treasure mirror is a pre-heavenly spiritual treasure, born with the orthodox energy of heaven and earth. Once there are evil spirits nearby, without offering ginseng fruits, it will naturally open and shoot out countless divine splendors, shining to death the evil spirits.
Xuanwei and others saw the Tian Di Bao Jian, where they knew the subtleties within. They also went forward in succession, burning incense and worshiping with three bows. After everyone finished their respects, they sat down to discuss the Tao. Suddenly, inside the great hall, precious energy surged towards the sky, radiant light flashed repeatedly, auspicious clouds reached the heavens, lotus flowers floated on the ground, golden flowers bloomed in mid-air, scattering across the altar, auspicious energy condensed into a crystal palace, hanging upside down in mid-air, like a colorful waterfall. It was truly resplendent and dazzling, captivating everyone's spirit!
Three Pure Ones, as the disciples of Hong Jun, the son of the Sage, were born with a stable and strong foundation, so they took the lead in making their move. Only to see three people from the Three Pures each burst out a stream of clear energy from the top of their heads, either purple-red, white-gold or cyan-green. The three streams of clear energy converged into a cloud of celebration above the heads of the three, about the size of a mu (a unit of area). With the wonderful method of the Three Pures, they influenced each other, and for a moment, the divine light of Tai Qing, Yu Qing and Shang Qing crisscrossed and flashed. Sometimes they entwined together, merged into a colorless air flow, with an atmosphere vast and majestic, ancient and simple to the point of being awe-inspiring. The breath was sometimes revealed, sometimes dispersed, like water flowing gently, noble and dignified, with sword energy soaring into the sky, each showing its own characteristics. The colorful light revolved slowly, like a murmured incantation, lingering around the ears.
As the town's master, Zhenyuanzi saw that Sanqing had already made his move, and with a slap on his own Baihui acupoint, a burst of yellowish-brown primordial energy suddenly shot out from the top of his head. The energy rose rapidly, forming a cloud of yellowish-brown color, upon which the Earth Scripture was already placed. At this moment, it began to move automatically without any wind, and although the surface of the scripture was dim and unclear, as the pages turned, countless amounts of primordial earth energy spouted out from within, like a waterfall crashing against the cloud. As the light scattered in all directions, splashing out of the cloud, suddenly the infinite Primordial Wuji Great Way unfolded before their eyes. With the unfolding of the Primordial Wuji Earth Great Way, a gigantic tree-like figure appeared, its branches and leaves swaying gently in the breeze, bearing countless porcelain doll-like fruits that seemed both real and illusory. The gentle rustling of the leaves was like music to the ears, and the sound of the Primordial Jia-Yi Wood Way entered the ears of all present.
Xuan Wei, Nüwa, Fu Xi, Zhunti, and Jieyin all saw the situation and didn't hide anything. They all revealed their own three flowers on top of their heads, five energies in their chests, the great fruit of the Tao, and the ten thousand laws of the Great Way circulating around their bodies. In an instant, only nine auspicious clouds were seen gathering inside the Wuzhuang Temple, sometimes merging into a canopy that reached the sky, and sometimes returning to their original positions, guarding just one mu and three fen of land. Everyone closed their eyes to contemplate and understand others' enlightenment, making up for their own deficiencies. Therefore, for a time, a kind of ethereal Taoist realm circulated around everyone's bodies, as if even the smallest details of the Great Way were blended in. This time, the nine people were all extraordinary: one was Pangu Sanqing Hua, the founder of the Xuanmen sect; two was Taigu Nüshengren, the creator of humanity and completer of heaven; three was Lianhua Puti Fo, who achieved enlightenment through dreams; four was Guidao Tianhuang, who entered the Tao through the eight trigrams before heaven; five was Dixian Daodezu, who established the Western Pure Land in China. The last person was not from this world - how could they have formed a connection with the Great Way?
Time flies like a white horse passing through a crevice, three hundred years have passed in the blink of an eye. The nine people simultaneously put away their celebratory clouds and stopped discussing the Tao. Each of them had a joyful expression on their face, clearly having gained something. Zhenyuanzi hastily summoned two young Daoist priests and ordered them to go to the back garden to fetch eighteen ginseng fruits!
The two young Daoist priests were seen: with clear bones and spirits, beautiful faces, and short hair tied up in a bun. Their Daoist robes were naturally wrapped around their bodies like mist, and their feathered sleeves fluttered in the wind. The ribbons on their hats were tightly tied, and their shoes were lightly wrapped with silk threads. They had an extraordinary and uncommon elegance, and were indeed the two Clear Wind and Bright Moon boys from the Western Journey!
The two boys did not dare to be slow and fetched a golden tray. In less than a moment, they returned with a plate and reported back. The cover was made of brocade silk, and when everyone gently lifted it, they felt a surge of pure and unadulterated primordial energy entering their bodies through their pores. A fragrance was born between their lips, and upon closer inspection, the ginseng fruits were plump and tender, like those of a three-year-old child, with a joyful and playful appearance. They truly did not disappoint as the spiritual roots of the beginning of the universe!
Zhenyuanzi said with a smile at the corner of his mouth: "This ginseng fruit is perfect in every way, but one must be careful not to let it come into contact with objects of the five elements."
Nüwa herself cultivated the Great Way of Creation, and was most interested in the mysteries of heaven and earth's creation. Upon hearing about the peculiarities of the ginseng fruit, she couldn't help but feel curious and asked: "Why can't this fruit come into contact with the five elements?" The Three Pure Ones, Fuxi, nodded in agreement, expressing their own doubts. Zhuangzi led the way, being a manifestation of the spiritual root, although he hadn't fully guessed it, he had some inkling, his face showed puzzlement, but ultimately didn't reveal anything, only Xuanming, who already knew, smiled lightly and said: "Perhaps this fruit is afraid of the five elements' energy from heaven and earth?"
Zhenyuanzi himself saw the crowd's doubts and secretly rejoiced. Now, after hearing Xuanwei's words, he couldn't help but sigh: "Xuanwei Dao brother is indeed a person born before the first kalpa of the opening of heaven. He actually knows that my fruit is in opposition to the five elements. Alas, I was mistaken. My ginseng fruit is naturally opposed to the five elements of heaven and earth, so it falls when it encounters metal, withers when it encounters wood, dissolves when it encounters water, burns when it encounters fire, and enters when it encounters earth. When taking it out, one must use a golden instrument, otherwise it won't come out. When storing it, one must place it on a jade plate that doesn't absorb the five elements' energy, and cover it with a mountain river brocade handkerchief. Otherwise, within half a day, the fruit will turn into yuanqi."
Sanqing and the others heard this, and sighed: "Indeed, it's a wonderful product of the immortal family, with great subtlety!" Seeing Zhenyuanzi nodding in agreement, they didn't hesitate to take one each and savor them carefully.
As soon as the Xuanwei Fruit was ingested, it became clear that this fruit was extraordinary. The reputation of being a pre-heavenly treasure was not exaggerated at all. Later generations' descriptions might still be somewhat insufficient, but what can be felt is that as soon as the fruit enters the mouth, it dissolves instantly and its flavor is sweet and beautiful. In an instant, it transforms into a stream of pure pre-heavenly yuanqi, flowing throughout the four limbs and hundred bones, containing boundless vitality, making one feel extremely comfortable and refreshed all over. Even if Xuanwei were a Great Luo Immortal at this moment, with the help of this fruit, his cultivation would still increase by a thousand years!
As the crowd dispersed, Xuanwei mentioned that he wanted to take a look at the Renyuanzi's ginseng fruit tree. Zhenyuanzi then led Xuanwei and others to the location of the Linggen. They saw: Vermilion railings and precious fences, winding paths and peaks, in the center of the courtyard there was a tree that shaded the sky and blocked out the sun, lush and dense, with leaves like banana trees and roots like pythons, the tree stood over a thousand feet tall, its trunk surrounded by an area of eight square zhang. Looking up, they only saw the southern branch, where a fruit was exposed, truly resembling a child. It turned out that on top of the stem there was a fruit stalk, which fixed it to the branch, and as the wind blew, it moved its hands and feet wildly, nodding its head and shaking its brain, when the wind passed by, it seemed to have a faint giggling sound coming from it, truly mysterious and extraordinary, worthy of being a divine spirit root.
