Chapter 8: Seizing the Monster
The leading stag was very proud and also very alert, it looked around in all directions while cautiously approaching the riverbank.
The iron-armored tiger lurking in the woods was obviously a novice, and the deer group didn't even go to drink water by the river with lush trees, but just carefully passed through that piece of woods.
Iron Armor Tiger was still calm at first, when the deer approached the forest, it didn't rush to attack - after all, it was a bit far away, not the best time to attack.
But when the deer herd walked through the forest, heading further away, the Iron Armored Tigers finally couldn't hold back anymore. With a sudden rustling sound, two Iron Armored Tigers burst out of the forest, flanking and charging towards the deer herd.
This hunt was clearly futile, the speed of the Thunder Deer far exceeded that of the Iron Armored Tiger. In the blink of an eye, the eight shadows vanished into the distance like lightning, and even the two small deer were much faster than the Iron Armored Tiger.
After the commotion, the two Ironshell Tigers lay on the ground panting, while that group of Thunderhoof Deer calmly returned, cautiously and vigilantly walking towards the riverbank.
This time, they still chose open spaces and deliberately avoided even sparse grasslands.
But it has to be said that they were really unlucky and chose the spot between Chen Taizhong and another person who were hiding in the bushes.
The clump of grass where Chen Taizhong was hiding was unusually sparse - it wasn't naturally grown in the first place.
So the position chosen by this group of Thunder Deer is relatively close to him.
Chen Taizhong began to quietly prepare, but just at this moment, a loud shout was heard, "Bind!"
A rope fell from the sky and tightly bound a small Thunder Deer, but it was someone in the grass on the other side who saw that things were not going well and took action first.
"Damn it," Chen Taizhong cursed in anger, how can you be so shameless - clearly on my turf.
However, he didn't have the heart to fight with his opponent over this deer. He was after the deerskin, which could only be found on a male deer, and a pair of deerskins were worth 250 ling.
As the deer was tied up, two men rushed out of the bushes opposite, one tall and one short.
They all came with their partners, Chen Taizhong couldn't help but sigh, only buddies are lonely souls.
"Hey kid, help me out," said the tall one loudly, "and I'll give you 30% of the harvest!"
You're still trying to show off your superiority? Chen Taizhong sat there motionless, as if he hadn't heard the remark.
"Ah!" The tall man stomped his foot in anger, but he had no time to lose his temper. Between the two horns of the stag, a spark flashed and a bolt of lightning struck him down.
The tall man's body stiffened instantly, his hair standing on end. Before he could react, a massive Thunderhoof Deer, with two protruding bumps on its forehead, also crackling with electricity, struck him with another bolt of lightning.
His body shook again, and a faint white smoke emerged from his mouth and nose.
"Will the little guy still be able to sell for a good price?" Chen Taizhong was amazed, thinking that this half-grown deer's two protruding parts on its head could probably fetch some money too.
However, the strongest attack was still from that male deer. It released a lightning bolt, paused for about five seconds, and then another lightning bolt shot out, this time towards the short guy.
However, at this moment, the short man showed a fighting force that was inconsistent with his stature. He first shook his body, then rushed towards the bound small deer.
The half-grown deer beside him struck again, and the short man's body shook once more, but his feet still exerted force.
Several does also opened their mouths, spitting out balls of lightning that shot straight at the short man. His body didn't stiffen, but he stumbled and staggered, his footsteps unsteady.
Time waits for no man, in the blink of an eye, the battle had entered a white-hot stage.
The dwarf seemed to be wearing some kind of armor, Chen Taizhong noticed this detail, and then he found that the two iron-armored tigers, who were panting with exhaustion, seeing the commotion here, also stood up and slowly walked over from a distance.
The deer originally wanted to save the fawn, but seeing that things had developed to this point, if they didn't leave now, they probably wouldn't be able to leave at all, so they could only release electricity while slowly retreating.
Just as the two Ironshell Tigers were getting closer, the male Thunderhoof finally let out a loud cry and turned to run away quickly. The other Thunderhoofs also saw this and took off running.
There is no wild beast and man who can outrun the lightning deer with a fleeing heart.
But in the next moment, an unexpected event occurred, a black shadow shot out like an arrow.
It was a very strange object, like a giant mushroom, with the edge of the mushroom cap trailing two long braids that hung straight down to the ground, making a rustling sound as it moved.
What's even more incredible is that this mushroom actually grew two legs, it's truly strange and bizarre.
That male deer suddenly saw something appear in front of him, and without thinking, he struck with a bolt of lightning. The two female deer also spat out two balls of thunder, ready to strike the guy who was blocking their way.
Chen Taizhong rushed out and saw that the deer had unexpectedly chosen his side in a panic, he was overjoyed and without thinking, he darted out to intercept.
As he saw the three electric lights coming, he slightly lowered his head and directly used the iron pot on his head to receive them. Then, from the storage bag, he took out a long knife that had just been extorted and, with all his might, slashed at the neck of the public deer.
The deer group did not expect that this thing was actually not afraid of thunder and lightning, they had already become accustomed to their own skills being invincible.
As soon as the knife flashed, Gong Lu's body shook violently, but despite his quick reaction, he was still slashed open from ear to ear.
Chen Taizhong was also a bit skeptical, wondering if the knife could break through the defense. When that thick and meat-cutting feeling came, he didn't think twice, pouring his immortal energy into the knife in his hand, lifting it up and fiercely throwing it at Gonglu.
The next moment, the long knife was deeply embedded in the deer's neck.
The deer ran a couple more steps, realized it couldn't escape, and only then thought of using its suicidal antlers, but unfortunately, by that time it was already too weak.
Chen Taizhong stepped forward, raised his hand and put the massive Thunder Deer into his storage bag. Then he turned around and looked back coldly.
At this time, the two people of different heights had already caught the small deer and tied it up with a rope. The two iron-armored tigers also walked to a distance of about 400-500 meters.
Both sides knew of Chen Taizhong's existence and didn't regard him as a monster.
Chen Taizhong glanced at them, put away the iron pot and other things, lifted his legs and walked out of the valley. After completing his task, he could get 250 spiritual energy, plus more than 100 spiritual energy he got from robbing yesterday, he could first cultivate in the city for a while.
The fairy energy in the immortal world is abundant, but cultivating in the wilderness can't keep up with the city. The spiritual energy density of a daily rental house needs to be even higher.
"Hey, slow down," a clear voice came from behind, Chen Taizhong turned his head to look, and it was the short guy speaking.
It turned out that this person was a woman, but just now the fight was intense, and she was wearing a suit of energy, he didn't notice.
The woman looked at him and asked one word at a time, "I don't know if you hunted the Thunder Deer, which part do you want?"
"The whole deer is mine, which part I want is my business," Chen Taizhong replied stiffly. He was extremely annoyed by the two men's behavior of snatching earlier and naturally wouldn't be too polite.
"Alright, friend, my sister can't talk," said the tall one, walking over. His hair was standing on end, his face had black and white stripes on it, and there was still a hint of burnt smell on him.
He spoke expressionlessly, "If your purpose is just for deer velvet, can other parts be spared?"
Lightning deer body is the most valuable, especially this deer velvet often self-destructed, in comparison, other parts of its body are not very valuable.
"I have no interest in giving up," Chen Taitzong flatly refused and then stepped away.
"It's fate to meet," the tall man flashed in front of him again, speaking gloomily, "You're a wandering immortal second-class, better think twice... I plan to buy from you."
"Fate? You chased me away yesterday, and today you're robbing me of my... uh, deer," Chen Taizhong smiled slightly. "Sorry, I'm not interested in this fate of yours."
"If you really don't give me face, then don't blame me for being impolite," the tall one narrowed his eyes, a fierce glint shooting out from them, "The senior who's with you can also testify that I'm not bullying you."
These two are clearly superior to Chen Taizhong, and for the time being, they don't dare to rush in. They are afraid of that middle-aged man from yesterday - although they didn't show up yesterday, it's clear that such a big thing can't be hidden from others' ears.
"Those who take things from me will always pay the price," Chen Taizhong pulled out the long sword from his storage bag, took a deep breath, and pointed the tip of the sword downwards, "Come on."
"I'm telling you," the woman said again, her two eyes wide with excitement, "if we hadn't tied up Little Deer, could you have killed the male deer? It would have run away long ago... You, a second-rate immortal, can't even catch up."
Chen Taizhong's face sank at the words, and he pointed at her, then at the tall man. "Less nonsense," he said. "Don't think that just because I'm a second-level wandering immortal, you can afford to provoke me. You two will regret it if you push me too far."
The siblings exchanged a look, their eyes filled with discontent - you're really something.
As an older brother, he was particularly unwilling to concede, but the next moment, the other person turned around and left, his mouth moved slightly, but in the end, he still didn't speak.
Chen Taizhong wanted to leave, but he couldn't, the two iron-armored tigers in front of him blocked his way. Just as he was feeling unwell, he poured his spiritual energy into his sword and stabbed forward with a raised hand.
These two Iron Armored Tigers could sense that the person in front of them wasn't very strong, but this sword strike coming at them somehow gave them an indistinct feeling of being unable to resist, so they hastily retreated.
They parted to let him through, but Chen Taizhong had barely started walking when the two of them caught up with him again, sticking closely behind him.
This is what's called frustrating, if you fight, the other side runs fast - he may not necessarily win, but if you don't fight, the other side will always be attached to you, and you have to be on guard against sudden attacks from behind.
After stumbling along for a while, a clear and melodious female voice rang out from afar, "Why are you so stupid? Thunderhoof deer is the favorite food of Ironshell tigers... toss them a leg and you can leave."
