Chapter Thirty-Five

  Chapter Thirty-Five

If you ask Wang Zijiao what she likes to do the most now, she will tell you that it's chatting with Li Miao. If you ask if there's anything else, she'll smile and say it's still chatting with Li Miao. She loves listening to him talk about interesting things that happen every day or sharing stories from the past. For some reason, he doesn't like talking about things that happened in X city, so she doesn't force him to share anymore. Anyway, whenever she listens, she often gets distracted and thinks of unpleasant memories from the past. Li Miao never points it out but immediately changes the subject. Maybe he also doesn't want to talk about those things because she always gets distracted when listening to them.

She will bite her lips, think for a moment and tell you that it feels comfortable, not as tense as before, especially carefree. Maybe because his seat is behind hers, making it easier for her to disturb him at any time, and he often spoils her like a child, even if she's being very capricious, he won't get angry, but will rub her hair and say she's silly.

Every time he said she was stupid, Wang Zhiqiao initially ignored him. Later on, when he said it more often, Wang Zhiqiao felt that if she continued to be spoken to like this, she might really become stupid one day, so she started fighting back.

"You're the stupid one." Wang Zijiao waved away Li Huan's hand, tidying up her disheveled hair, fortunately it was short, otherwise she would have been even more embarrassed, looking like a lunatic.

"You're not stupid, then tell me why I said you were stupid just now?" Li Huan continued to mess up Wang Zijiao's newly combed hair. Wang Zijiao was furious and used both hands to make her hair even more messy, staring with a pair of big eyes that seemed to be spitting fire as she huffed and puffed: "How would I know? Am I a worm in your belly?"

"Don't be so disgusting, and I don't have tapeworms in my stomach." He said while tidying up Wang Zhiqiao's hair, her previous appearance reminded him of a street scolding woman, with one hand on her waist and disheveled hair. Wang Zhiqiao snorted and ignored him.

"Is the homework done?" Li Hui fixed her hair and continued to ask other questions, not dwelling on this one, otherwise she would really get angry soon.

"There isn't, there's a math problem I don't know how to do, so I just don't want to do it." Wang Zhiqiao is now thinking about it and getting annoyed, doing similar problems every day. Lao Ka is stuck in one place, feeling annoyed and not wanting to continue."

"Bring it over and I'll take a look." Li Hui reluctantly stretched out his hand to ask for the test paper, Wang Zhiqiao's eyes widened like a camel bell, and she dug her ears, wondering if she had misheard earlier!

"What did you just say? I didn't quite catch it."

Li Hui didn't want to bother with her, took out his own test paper, "Which one?" Wang Zhiqiao looked at the test paper that was whiter than her face and thought he was joking with her. However, seeing how serious he was looking at her, she pointed to that question. Li Hui looked at it for a moment, thinking carefully.

"Give me your math book, the one with this question."

Wang Zhiqiao was stunned on the spot, "Are you serious?"

"Nonsense! Bring me the book." Wang Zijiao saw him say this, and had no choice but to hand over the book.

"This question is quite difficult, actually many people can't do it. Even if you can't do it, it's no big deal!" Wang Zhiqiao started to make excuses for Li Hui, so that he wouldn't be embarrassed when he couldn't do it later. This kind of person who doesn't study every day, how could he possibly do it? He's not even seen reading books usually, and yet he loves to show off, what a hypocrite!

Li Hui gave Wang Zijiao a slanted glance, and Wang Zijiao immediately shut his mouth. Only then did Li Hui turn back to do his own exercises.

Wang Zhiqiao has a flat mouth, why does he feel like he's making an extra move? He obviously doesn't care about his good intentions, let him go and slap himself in the face! I'm too lazy to bother with him. Turning around to continue reading my book, not worrying about it, anyway, he can't do anything for a while. There's no need for me to wait here stupidly anymore.

As Wang Zijiao had expected, Li Huan spent a whole class period and still couldn't do it. If it were that easy, everyone would get full marks. Li Huan was inevitably a bit embarrassed, having boasted about it and also refused Wang Zijiao's kindness, making it even more embarrassing to say he still hadn't done it. As soon as the class ended, he hastily made a quick exit.

Li Hui was with Zhang Yang, no matter how funny the jokes they told or the silly actions they made, Li Hui didn't crack a smile, furrowing his brow and still racking his brain over that problem. He couldn't understand why he couldn't solve it even after using all the known conditions and key formulas from the beginning. Li Hui felt like his brain was about to shut down, wondering if it had really rusted from disuse. He couldn't help but sigh, realizing he would definitely lose face in front of Wang Zijiao. Back then, he had refused Wang's kindness, thinking she looked down on him, but it turned out he overestimated himself. It was indeed true that "if only I knew then what I know now, why bother with the past?"

"What's wrong, is there something going on? Haven't you been getting along well with her these past few days? Has she had a falling out with you?" Chu Qi leaned against the wall, propping himself up with one foot, and had already sighed several times since Li Huan arrived. He had seen him get along quite well with that girl recently, but it seemed like Zhang Yang's words from before were true after all - that girl really was hard to communicate with. That day when he saw her hiding behind Yang Rui, he felt a deep-seated resistance towards them. However, when no one was paying attention to her, she would smile very brightly.

"No, she won't do that anymore. She's just a bit awkward with people after saying it a few times," Chu Qi said. Li Hui still felt that they had prejudices against Wang Zijiao and didn't understand her at all, so they made judgments about her. Her behavior was indeed a bit strange, and it was inevitable that many people would misunderstand her.

"Alright, I was wrong." Chu Qi raised his hands in surrender. Every time someone mentioned Wang Zhiqiao, he would go on and on about how great Wang Zhiqiao was, to the point where even he himself got a little scared.

"What's wrong again, and what's bothering you, young master?" Chu Qi continued his previous question. Everyone was in a good mood, but he alone stood there seriously, really ruining the atmosphere.

"Chuqi, didn't you guys also receive a set of math problems recently that were transferred from H school?" Li Hui asked tentatively.

"Hmm, all classes have been issued, saying that they should do some exercises in their daily practice. What's wrong?" Chu Qi thought for a moment and seemed to recall that there was indeed such a test paper.

"Have you done it?" Li Hui pinned all his hopes on Chuyi, who was the smartest among this group of people. He didn't know if he would succeed or not; if he also couldn't do it, then he really had no way out!
