Chapter 19
Before, Wang Zijiao didn't know how to talk to Li Miao, but now he can't even talk to him. Moreover, it seems like Li Miao doesn't want to talk to him either.
Wang Zijiao could clearly feel the distance that Li Miao was keeping from him. As soon as the teacher announced the end of class, Li Miao quickly stood up and rushed out of the classroom, completely unlike his usual slow and leisurely pace. It seemed like something was chasing after him, making him run so fast.
Wang Zijiao couldn't help but feel a bit uncomfortable, watching Li Miao's retreating figure and feeling a pang of sadness in his heart. The only thing he could be grateful for was that he no longer had to put pressure on Li Miao, who now seemed carefree and without the heavy burden he used to carry.
Although it was Wang Zijiao who had said those words, he couldn't change the fact that he was the one being rejected. He didn't want to say those things, but he also couldn't make things difficult for others. At that time, Li Miao had still helped him, and it was because of his kindness that he hadn't wanted to see Wang Zijiao hurt.
Wang Zijiao felt even more guilty about being so cruel to Li Miao, making him help him when he didn't want to. He couldn't bear the thought of hurting Li Miao's feelings.
Even though Wang Zijiao had said he wouldn't blame Li Miao, Li Miao still kept his distance from him. This was not what Wang Zijiao wanted, but it was also an expected outcome. What could he do about it? It didn't make a difference anyway; Wang Zijiao had simply gone back to being the way he used to be, not having to consider anyone else's feelings.
"Zijiao, why haven't you been talking to Li Miao lately? Did you two have another falling out?" Yang Rui asked softly. She had noticed that Wang Zijiao and Li Miao hadn't been speaking to each other for a few days, so she knew something must have happened on that day.
Wang Zijiao lowered his head and replied while writing, "I don't need his help anymore, so we haven't been in contact."
Yang Rui was taken aback. "What? Why wouldn't you want his help? What were you thinking? You're not even making sense! You're still the same as before; you want to change yourself, but you're not willing to accept help from others!"
Wang Zijiao explained, "I'm just not good at talking to boys. It's no different from how I was before. If I let him help me, it would increase his mental pressure and make me feel uneasy every day when I see him. This way, we both don't have any pressure on each other. At least my life used to be peaceful; I didn't have to worry about whether he would ask me to talk to boys or not, and I wouldn't feel uncomfortable talking to him."
Yang Rui looked at Wang Zijiao's profile and shook her head, thinking: If only you really thought that way.
"Zijiao, are you rejecting him?" Yang Rui asked, squatting down to look at Wang Zijiao eye-to-eye. "Don't lie to me; I need an honest answer from you. Are you still rejecting him?"
Wang Zijiao replied, "I'm not rejecting him. It's just that he doesn't want to talk to me anymore."
Yang Rui felt that some things wouldn't be resolved even if one person tried to fix them. She thought it would be better to find Li Miao and talk to him.
"Li Miao, wait for a moment; I need to talk to you," Yang Rui said, quickly looking for Li Miao's figure in the crowd. When she finally found him, she saw that he was no longer smiling, and his face looked gloomy. His skin, which wasn't fair to begin with, now looked even darker.
Li Miao saw Yang Rui approaching him and knew she wanted to talk about something. However, he didn't want to discuss anything at the moment, so he turned around and walked away.
Yang Rui watched Li Miao leave and realized that he didn't want to talk right now. She stopped in her tracks, thinking that it would be better to let them resolve their own problems for the time being.
