Chapter 1 She wanted to be lazy
A night of strong north wind, today it's still not fully bright.
A thin fog enveloped the city of Kuiyuan, and the chill seeped through the air. The morning after a heavy snowfall was unusually quiet, with an eerie pallor all around, as if death had crept by. Occasionally, the sound of a broom sweeping the snowy ground could be heard, but the weak voice was soon drowned out by the vast expanse of white snow.
Yunhai rubbed her frozen hands, thinking to herself that the aunties in the cafeteria should keep a close eye on their pet rabbits, or else she might get bitten by the hungry pets.
It would be great if puppets could sweep snow.
At her feet were several crumpled paper balls, which were the puppets she had just tried to use to sweep the snow. It seemed that the spiritual power was insufficient, and the paper people wrinkled into a ball as soon as they touched the snow, not only unable to help but also making trouble. She held the icy broom handle, thinking of the meager balance when checking her account last night, and sighed that such a luxury as gloves could only be used as a Christmas gift to make wishes to the meteor.
A faint crunching sound came from behind, and the newcomer seemed to be walking with a light and casual pace, but in fact had also spent some effort to control their footsteps. Yun Hai Fan didn't turn around, he just stopped sweeping, and the snowflakes on his broom fluttered down, threatening to cover up the paper ball.
"Hey, isn't this Yunhai Fan from the Puppetry Class?" The newcomer's voice was loud and boisterous, mixed with a hint of disdainful coldness. "It's been so long, yet you still haven't gotten used to life in the magical world?"
Yun Hai Fan slowly turned sideways, his calm eyes looking at the woman with dazzling red hair: "May I ask Miss An Su, what is habit?"
Ansu smiled lightly and waved her staff, the thick snow that had been pressing down behind her suddenly dispersed, revealing the rough appearance of the small road that had been hastily built with cement. The bare shrubs hung low, their thin branches not easily stretching out due to this sudden warmth.
"Solving problems with magic is just a habit."
It was probably magic that had improved, Ansu looked at her fingers with satisfaction, which were painted with thick nail polish, although the bright red color seemed to be no different from blood-stained hands to Yunhai Fan in the distance.
"Oh." Yun Hai Fan responded casually, "I'm a person who values tradition and self-reliance."
"Same to you." Ansu seemed to be intentionally teasing Yun Hai Fan, not getting angry, but just smiling, "You and I have known each other for some years now, we were even in the same class back in the mortal realm. As for me, I'm also a sentimental person, can't bear to see old acquaintances come to the magical realm only to return to the mortal realm again. Why don't I talk to our headmaster and let you leave that whatever puppetry class and join our fire magic class as a transfer student? Later on, even if you just barely graduate, you'll still be able to find a decent job in the magical realm."
Insert students can find part-time jobs. They attend classes in their own class during regular hours and go to other classes for labor education after school.
Now help you sweep the classroom, and stay in school to sweep the campus in the future.
Yun Hai Fan hung his head, expressionless, and no longer spoke. The broom gently swept the ground, gathering up those crumpled paper balls. Without the snow to cover them, those paper balls on the cement floor became even more vibrant, they had to be hidden quickly.
Ansu won't let go of such a good opportunity. Her fingers lightly lifted, and before the flames on Mars had time to splash out, one of the paper balls was already in her hand. She pinched the corner of the paper with two fingers, and behind the irregular paper ball, there were faint sparks jumping around, with a smile that hid malicious intentions: "Looks like I owe you an apology, it turns out you also wanted to use magic to solve the problem. Only, something went wrong."
She said, as she deftly shook the paper ball. The paper ball gradually restored to a paper man under her movements, with a pale face like a sail in the cool wind. Ansu's eyes flowed, and her expression was proud, her voice not loud but carried far away by the wind: "Do you want to destroy the evidence?"
Her voice trailed off, and with a flick of her wrist, the paper man ignited in mid-air, standing out starkly against the still dim sky. Yunhai Fan's heart sank suddenly as she saw two figures approaching them from afar - one was a stranger, looking to be in his early twenties; while the other had a distinctive Mediterranean hairstyle that made Yunhai Fan instantly realize the newcomer belonged to a group known as trouble.
A person in every school who holds a low-ranking position with little power but has control over students' lives.
Grade senior exhibition adults.
Puppetry class teacher.
Also served as Puppetry Class Agent and Deputy Head of Class.
Yunhai Fan quietly shifted her position, wanting to step on the remaining two deadly paper balls. Ansu's flames were burning just right, with heaven, earth and human in harmony, who knows if it was planned or not. There was no sound coming from the ground as she had expected, she looked up and saw that strange man holding the two paper balls in one hand, examining them carefully, then lifted his hand and restored the paper balls to their original shape, looking brand new on the outside.
Yun Hai Fan stared at the young man, for a moment forgetting his urge to crash into the wall.
Although it was just a school teacher's uniform, the black long windbreaker with formal trousers could highlight his gentlemanly temperament even without a scarf. The exquisite buttons and fine stitching were no match for his unforgettable face. His neatly trimmed eyebrows, slightly raised nose, and lips that seemed to hold a hint of a smile all added to his charm. But it was those glass-like clear eyes that left the most lasting impression, as if the gaze could see right through to the horizon where the sea meets the sky at dawn.
In comparison, Wen Zhan looked much more despicable. Yun Hai Fan's gaze towards him inadvertently carried disdain, immediately causing Wen Zhan's discontent.
"What are you doing?" Wen Zhan obviously knew the answer, his eyes passing over Yun Hai Fan to look at An Su, indicating that she should respond.
"There's nothing." An Su had an innocent and harmless expression, "Teacher Wen, I just wanted to find a quiet place to practice this morning and happened to pass by here, saw Yun Hai Fan slacking off while on duty."
"What's her excuse for being lazy?" Wen Zhan asked slowly, twirling the nonexistent whiskers on his lips.
"She used a paper puppet to help with the snow removal." An Su smiled mysteriously, and then her hand shook, and the paper puppet that had just turned into ashes reappeared in her hand. "The paper ball in Blue's hand was the puppet she used for snow removal earlier. After I discovered it, she crumpled up the puppet to destroy the evidence. When I approached her, she used this paper puppet against me. Helpless, I could only use a fireball technique to attract the teacher's attention. I knew this was private practice..."
Later on, An Su's voice became softer and softer, with a pitiful and wronged expression that added to her charm.
"You, things have a reason and feelings can be forgiven. However, as for Yun Hai Fan..." Wen Zhan nodded. He knew with his nose that An Su was intentionally framing him, how could he not know whether Yun Hai Fan had the ability to deal with An Su? It's just that he has always disliked the puppetry class students who have no spiritual power and only know how to make trouble, having this opportunity to punish them is simply a waste of resources.
He cleared his throat twice and cast his gaze at the young teacher, "Teacher Lan, since you are now the head of the Puppetry class, it's only right that you should be in charge of Yun Hai Fan. What do you think should be done?"
Yun Hai Fan looked at the new class teacher with some tension, only knowing his surname but not his name, and didn't know what he would say.
