Chapter 6: Punished by Copying Books
Ge Hui gazed at her with approval.
Yun Hai Fan withdrew his hand, made a gesture to twist his wrist, and felt that he was wronged. He could deceive even the high-ranking masters into imparting their spiritual power, which was a very cost-effective deal: "I have one more thing I want to know."
"Go on."
"If there's water, then there's fire. Does having light magic mean that there's also dark magic?" Yun Hai Fan looked at Ge Hui's troubled expression and changed his words, "If it's troublesome, then Teacher Ge doesn't have to answer. We can..."
"Some." Ge Hui said resolutely, "Perhaps it still exists somewhere on the Luoyin continent. I just don't know."
Obviously there was something unspoken, Yunhai Fan didn't say anything and just smiled: "So how is Teacher Ge going to 'punish' me next?"
Ge Hui naturally understood her intention of helping herself get away with it: "Of course... I will punish you severely."
Her high-piled hair had a strand that swayed and fell, adding a few touches of tenderness to her solemn face.
"I'm going to punish you by making you copy books."
The stars are still the same, and the chair is still the same. Yun Haifeng sat on a three-legged chair with a sense of walking on thin air at high altitude, constantly challenging his balance. Yun Haifeng was not afraid to use his most meticulous mind to speculate about Ge Hui, probably because he was heartbroken about the spiritual power he had given away, and no matter what, he wanted to make up for it in terms of working conditions. The list of books to be copied is diverse, from "On the Properties of Idealism Magic Lecture 1" to "On the Properties of Idealism Magic Lecture 108", all are included. Yun Haifeng read while copying, and sighed that the imagination of expert professors was indeed rich, able to find a perfect unity between materialism and idealism, and it seemed reasonable to read, with a self-circumstantial ability that was not ordinary.
"Ge Jie," Yun Hai Fan would say whenever his hand ached from writing, "I've finished copying the manuscript."
"All of them are in the cabinet behind you, enough for you to copy for a year." Ge Hui didn't even lift her head.
In just a few short days, Yun Hai Fan and Ge Hui became extremely familiar with each other, their form of address changing from "Teacher Ge" to "Sister Ge". Based on their shared dislike for Wen Xuan, the two women tacitly formed an alliance against him. As for why Ge Hui hated Wen Xuan so much, Yun Hai Fan raised an eyebrow and smiled faintly.
A woman hates men mainly because of emotions and career.
It's emotional... Looking at Gao Hui being more than ten years older than Wen Zhan, I also know it won't be so messy. It's probably just that Wen Zhan has been hindering Gao Hui's career.
The position of being older in grade is really profitable every time there's a magical assessment.
Anyway, Ge Hui took good care of Yun Hai Fan, although the content was vastly different, but the format was quite consistent - a thick book that roughly accounted for two-fifths of the text, with three-number font and double line spacing, illustrations taking up most of it, resembling a dusty world's travel guide, looking bright and beautiful, but in reality... not daring to flatter.
Feeling a bit tired from copying, Yun Hai Fan stretched his waist and shook his numb right hand. His left hand instinctively reached for the next book, but as soon as his fingertips touched the cover, he withdrew it, as if an electric current had passed through.
Is this really the cover of a book?
Her left hand gently covered the seemingly ancient cover, and that tactile sensation was something she would remember for a long time to come. It felt like the finest and most luxurious silk, tightly grasped in her hand yet giving off a flowing feeling, as if it might suddenly slip away at any moment. Only later did she learn that this paper was made from a secret method over a thousand years ago, called "Lianzhu".
There is no writing on the cover, and inside... there is also no writing.
What era is it now, still playing wordless heavenly book games. Yun Hai Fan put his hands behind his head and looked up at the ceiling, rolling his eyes twice. Hearing some faint noise from next door, Yun Hai Fan knew Ge Hui was there, so he carried the book to the wall of the neighboring room, but stopped his footsteps at the edge of the closed door.
She heard a familiar voice - "Could it be that Teacher Ge wants to hide something?"
Such a loud and boisterous voice could only come from that woman with hair just as loud, Yun Hai Fan could even imagine how her ponytail would move restlessly along with her gestures when she spoke, the dazzling red easily captivating people's minds, provoking the other party to become irritable and lose control.
"How is this possible?" Ge Hui's calm voice carried her usual arrogance, a kind of confidence that came from strength and experience. "What does An classmate think? After such a long time, some books are gone, just gone."
"Hmm."
Across the door, Yunhai Fan also felt Ansu's anger.
That must be a very important book. She thought silently and held the book in her arms even tighter.
Xiang Ze walked over with two cups of tea, presumably feeling the unpleasant atmosphere inside. He asked Yun Hai Fan with his eyes - what's going on in there?
During the Cold War, they couldn't fight for a while.
Yun Hai Fan also hinted at him with his eyes.
You go in and ease the atmosphere.
Suddenly, a loud "slap" sound came from inside, probably the sound of someone slapping the table, but it was unclear who made the noise. Yun Hai Fan shrugged his shoulders, indicating that a new wave of intense battle was about to begin. Xiang Zi Yin, out of helplessness, put down the tea tray and knocked on the door three times with even force. After getting permission, he pushed open the door. Yun Hai Fan watched Xiang Zi Yin walk into the office with an infinitely sympathetic gaze, as if sending him off to a den of demons.
He is indeed an extreme uke.
Yun Hai Fan thought that if Yun Yin wore the uniform of a male servant from a certain island nation's manga, it would be perfect. Alternatively, wearing the attire of a butler from a certain European country would also complement her temperament. If she could smile faintly at the two people in the house and softly say "Please take your time", even if An Su didn't die from excessive nosebleeding, he would be so weak that he wouldn't be able to shout out loud.
That sentence should have gone unspoken, but the room had indeed been quiet for a good while.
Xin Dao still wanted to wait for a while, Yun Hai Fan turned around and thought of dragging the matter to be discussed later, but heard the door open. She originally wanted to pretend not to hear or ask, but heard someone shouting out her name in a hurry - "Yun Hai Fan, what are you doing here!"
The voice is somewhat hollow and loud, roughly speaking, the speaker's legs are still a bit soft.
Yun Hai Fan patted his face and relaxed his tense expression: "I've come to report on the progress of the work assigned to me by Teacher Ge."
"Hmph," An Su slanted her eyes, "You really think a little punishment is work? You're the type who shines with just a bit of sunlight and becomes colorful with just a palette."
"I've always been serious and responsible about things, even sweeping the floor can be done spotlessly."
"Yes, you've cleaned up quite well." Ansu looked her up and down, feeling that something was out of sync. "It's just that your hands and feet aren't clean."
"What's the point, if your hands and feet aren't clean, won't you bring dirt to other places too?" Yun Hai Fan ignored her, turned sideways and was about to enter the office when An Su stopped him: "What is in your left sleeve?"
