Chapter 12: Fairy Sister

Chapter 12: The Fairy's Sister Huaxia Book Library Network

Jin Gang Mountain is located at the junction of Sichuan and Hunan provinces, but its climate is independent and different from both provinces. The mountain is shrouded in mist and cloud all year round, making it difficult for people to find their way around. Locals consider this phenomenon strange and mysterious. However, Jin Gang Mountain has several unique features that set it apart from other mountains. Firstly, despite its name, the mountain does not produce diamonds (this is not the reason for its unusual name). In fact, there are hardly any stones on the entire mountain, which appears as a vast expanse of mist when viewed from afar. Secondly, although people consider the mountain mysterious, it has no ancient temples or pagodas because outsiders find it difficult to enter the mountain. Thirdly, the mountain is surrounded by a large river called Lian Shui, whose name means "tear-like water". Locals believe that this water is the tears of Jin Gang Mountain, which flow continuously and have a slightly salty taste. The mountain has three peaks, with the central peak being the highest and most unusual. The top of this peak is the only place on the mountain not shrouded in mist and cloud, and it has snow all year round. When viewed from afar, the snow-capped peak appears to be touching the sky, creating a breathtaking sight.

At dawn, a piece of rotten wood flew over the surface of the river, which was only over a hundred meters wide. The rotten wood lightly floated across the water's surface, swift as an arrow and light as a goose feather. Suddenly, an old man with a medium build descended from mid-air, his hair white as snow, his beard fluttering in the wind, his face rosy and bright, his eyes clear and piercing like electricity, his eyebrows still bearing the chill of frost, his expression solemn, his body sturdy and strong, floating as if he were an immortal. The old man used this piece of rotten wood to travel nearly a hundred meters, then lightly leaped up, like a sparrow turning over in flight, or a swan spreading its wings, and his body quickly jumped to the foot of Diamond Mountain.

The old man walked for over a hundred meters before a mass of fog rushed in, enveloping him. The old man's expression didn't change as he lightly turned his body ninety degrees to the left and continued walking for about two hundred and fifty steps. He then turned right by almost half a circle and walked for about one hundred steps before making another gentle turn to the right. After walking less than a hundred steps, he left the fog behind him. Suddenly, the sky cleared up and it was as if he had entered a fairyland. When he reached the foot of the mountain, he saw a stone tablet by the side of the road with an inscription that read: "The path to immortality is vast and obscure, the path through the clouds is remote and vague!"

The old man saw, lightly sighed, and quickly went up the mountain. The mountain road was winding and sometimes invisible, with clouds and fog in sections. After half an hour of walking, the old man reached the top of the mountain. Although the top was still covered by clouds and fog, it was bright and flat like a plain. There was a stele beside the road that read: "Misty Plain!" The plain was formed by stone walls and was extremely solid, but because of the surrounding clouds and fog, it could not be seen from the outside. In the center of the plain stood a bamboo building called "No Flower Pavilion".

The building has two floors, and outside the building there is a ladder made of intertwined plants. The old man came to the bottom of the building, climbed up the stairs, and arrived at a hall. In fact, the hall and the lower floor are together, but the space is much larger. On the inner side of the lower floor, the "great hall" is actually a large pool, filled with steaming hot water vapor. The large pool is made of rocks, which can be seen that this building is actually just a structure built around a natural "pool", and there are also many wooden materials connected at the top, with green vines hanging from it. The vines hang down low, like a door curtain, and like a swing, in bundles, beautiful and elegant. This is truly the greatest architecture, and also the most natural architecture, what a unique building!

"Who!" A shrill shout came, and a green light flashed, a green-clad girl with her hair tied up in a bun lightly swayed in, holding onto the drooping wisteria.

The old man smiled lightly and said: "It's me!"

"Grandfather? How did you come?" The young girl in green clothes lightly got up and welcomed the old man with a smile all the way. Her hair was not long, but it was scattered around her, tied only with a brown wooden hairpin, black as ink, shiny like oil, like a waterfall naturally flowing down. Under her black hair was a face as white as jade, smooth and delicate, with curved eyebrows like painted, and eyes with long eyelashes. Her eyes were bright and shining, as if they could speak. Plus a slender and crystal-clear nose, lightly raised, like condensed fat, soft and delicate. A charming smile on her face, two small dimples appeared on her cheeks, the skin beside the dimples was slightly raised, white and pink, as if it would ooze out water at any time.

The girl was wearing a light blue dress, with her two small feet bare, and she jumped into the old man's arms, lightly scolding: "Grandpa! You're so biased! You only remember him, but he can't even come a few times a year. I'm not convinced!"

"Didn't I come?" The old man sighed softly: "It's just that he's in trouble this time!"

The girl heard this, frowned and pouted: "Grandpa! So you didn't come to see me on purpose! I won't talk to you anymore, I'm leaving!" After saying that, she lightly floated away, grabbed a wisteria vine, tied herself up with it, relaxed her hands, and let her body gently sway back and forth.

The old man nodded slightly and said: "Girl! Didn't I come to see you too? Look what I brought for you!"

"What's up?" The girl continued to sway back and forth, without turning her head, lazily asking.

"Hey! You don't like me, why bother bringing me here? Forget it, I'm leaving!" The old man sighed softly and walked out while glancing back over his shoulder.

The girl heard this and quickly jumped up to follow, saying "You can't leave! This isn't a place where you can come and go as you please, unless Grandpa pushes me on the swing!" After speaking, she flung herself into the old man's arms like a cloud.

The old man gently wrapped his arms around her and said, "You're so big now, but you still act like a child! One day when Grandpa can't walk anymore and can't carry you, I won't be able to accompany you!"

The girl gently hooked her arm around the old man's neck, her head against his chest, and said softly: "Grandpa! It won't happen, how could Grandpa not be able to walk? Unless Grandpa doesn't want to walk, then I'll carry you every day to swing on the swings, isn't that great?"

"Hehe! I'm afraid that when the time comes, you won't even bother with me! You still owe me a swing on the swings, I don't believe you!" The old man said with a smile.
