A shooting star streaked across the sky
"I'm telling you, Wei Xin, hurry up or we'll be late!" Shao Nian urged, pulling and dragging a sleepy An Wei Xin.
"What are you doing staying up late to watch the meteor shower?!" An Weixin was sleeping soundly when Shao Nian pulled her out of her warm bed. Who doesn't know that An Weixin has a terrible temper in the morning, she can demolish a house if something doesn't go her way. Only Shao Nian, who is not afraid of death, dares to pull her out of bed. After all, he is An Weixin's childhood friend, partner in crime, best friend, and blue lantern, this multi-faceted identity is not something that just anyone can have.
"Experts say this is the biggest meteor shower in a thousand years, An Wei Xin! Hurry up and don't sleep. I've found an excellent viewing spot, let's go." Shao Nian deeply believed the expert's words and had high hopes for tonight's meteor shower. Shao Nian used all his strength to carry An Wei Xin, this "dead pig", to their destination. "Wei Xin, Wei Xin! Get up quickly! The meteor shower is about to start in five minutes. Get up!" Shao Nian shook An Wei Xin violently, almost making her throw up the dinner she had been holding back all night. An Wei Xin, who had been enduring all night, finally erupted in a small universe explosion.
"I'm going to scold you! I was just taking a nap and you can't even let me be, is that right? Only an idiot like you would believe the nonsense those experts spout! Bullshit meteor shower! I've lived this long and all I've ever seen is rain, where's the meteor?! If there really are meteors, call one down for me to see!" An Wei's heart was racing as she pointed at Shao Nian's nose and let out a stream of angry words.
Shao Nian stared blankly at An Wei Xin, then suddenly jumped up with a ghost-seeing expression, his hands trembling as he pointed behind An Wei Xin. An Wei Xin quickly turned around and saw that the sky was filled with shooting stars illuminating half of the sky, so beautiful it seemed unreal.
"Wah wah wah! There really is a meteor shower! It's so beautiful!" Xiao Nian was excited and didn't forget to take pictures, picking up the camera he had prepared early 'click click click' and started taking photos, An Wei Xin had been staring blankly from the side.
This rare meteor shower that occurs once in a thousand years lasted for half an hour, Shao Nian took a full camera of photos, just about to show off to An Wei Xin when he turned around and saw An Wei Xin leaning against the wall asleep...
"Ah, Wei Xin!" Shao Nian let out a loud roar, startling Wei Xin.
An Wei Xin rubbed her eyes, yawned, and stretched her waist before slowly getting up. "Is it over?" An Wei Xin looked at the darkened sky. "Great, let's go back to sleep."
...Shao Nian's enthusiasm was suddenly extinguished by An Wei Xin's cold words. Just as the two were about to leave, An Wei Xin inadvertently raised her head, and a bright red light suddenly appeared in the originally dull sky, growing larger and larger.
"What are you looking at?" An Wei Xin squinted and pointed to the sky, Shao Nian followed her direction and looked over, only to see that the bright spot which was previously the size of a thumb had grown to the size of the sun. "What...is this?" The two stared blankly as the bright spot grew bigger and bigger...bigger and bigger...When they finally saw what the bright spot was, they were dumbfounded.
"Oh no! It's a meteorite! Run!" Reacting quickly, Shao Nian grabbed An Wei and started sprinting for their lives.
"Shaonian! You've killed me! Look at the meteor shower of your sister! If I die, I'll haunt you as a ghost!" An Weixin cursed while running.
Unfortunately, no matter how fast the two of them ran, they couldn't outrun the speed of the falling meteorite. An Wei's back felt a wave of scorching heat, and the intense temperature made her feel like she was about to melt. Just as An Wei was about to give up, Shao Nian suddenly accelerated rapidly, using his forward momentum to fling An Wei outwards, aiming for a large boulder not far ahead.
"Only the heart is fast!" An Weixin rushed straight towards the stone, rolling several times before stopping, and as soon as she stood still, she saw Shao Nian being engulfed by a fireball.
"Shao Nian!" An Wei's heart was racing as she desperately ran back and forth, trying to pull Shao Nian back, but just as she got close, she was engulfed by the raging sea of flames.
……
The forest was quiet in the early morning, with only half of the sun rising. The dusty leaves were washed away by the dew, and everything was so peaceful. Unfortunately, this peaceful atmosphere was broken by a sharp cry.
"Ah!" An Wei's eyes snapped open and she was immediately stimulated by the corpses all over the ground and the thick smell of blood.
The bloody smell stimulated An Wei's sense of smell, and the bright red color gathered into a winding small river, which was shocking to see. Dozens of corpses were lying on the ground in a disorderly manner, with ferocious and painful expressions that made An Wei's heart skip a beat. The bright red clothes had been stained dark red by blood, and a wedding sedan chair lay not far away. The silent forest only had the occasional rustling sound of leaves blown by the wind. An Wei's slightly heavy breathing sounded so clear in this quiet atmosphere.
An Weixin finally calmed down and stood up with the support of a nearby tree, her legs trembling. Not far away was a small stream, An Weixin dragged her weak legs to the edge of the creek, scooped up some clear water and splashed it on her face. The icy cold water stimulated her senses, and her somewhat dizzy brain finally cleared up a bit.
Wasn't she hit by a meteor? How is she still alive? And yet, she appeared here, with corpses all over the ground. An Wei Xin had just discovered that earlier, and those people were wearing ancient costumes, and it seemed like they were a wedding procession. And what about Shao Nian, how was he doing? Before she could think further, a series of footsteps came from behind her, and An Wei Xin stood up to see five or six black-robed men with swords at their waists rushing towards her direction.
An Wei's eyes had just adjusted to the morning light, and she finally saw a glimmer of life. Her excitement was palpable. Just as she took two steps forward, before she could even speak, a sword was pressed against her neck. A cold, toneless voice whispered in her ear.
"Who are you?" asked the leader of those few people.
At this time, An Wei's eyes widened as she stared at the people in front of her. Her heart was racing with countless thoughts, and after a morning of fear and anxiety, she finally saw some living people, only to be held at knife point. It's easy to imagine how terrible her mood was. This terrifying feeling turned into violent anger, and her small universe erupted again. Without regard for the sword still held to her neck, she opened her mouth and spat.
"What the...! I was wondering where this is and who you people are?! Seeing all these dead bodies early in the morning, how am I supposed to feel?! You're still holding a knife to me? And asking me who I am? I'd like to ask you that too!" An Wei's words became more and more pitiful, more and more heartbreaking. What kind of place was this where not even birds would shit?!
The leader furrowed his brow and coldly ordered, "Take her back." As soon as the words fell, two people stepped forward to support An Weixin.
"Hey, hey, hey! What are you doing? Where do you want to take me? Hey!" An Weixin shouted for half a day but no one paid attention to her. This feeling of being ignored made An Weixin very unhappy! Very unhappy! As she was also a skilled martial artist, although dealing with several big men wasn't an easy task, escaping should still be possible.
An Wei's heart was suspended in mid-air by two people, taking advantage of their distraction to lift her foot and kick the person on her right. The solid kick made that person wish they were dead, and they didn't even bother with An Wei anymore, covering their injured area with both hands as they rolled around in pain. As soon as An Wei's feet touched the ground, she took advantage of the person on her left being stunned to twist and struggle free from his grasp. Once she regained her freedom, An Wei ran away quickly, but after just a few steps, she suddenly felt like something had hit her, and then she couldn't move anymore.
"Damn it! Is this the legendary acupuncture point!? Although I'm immobilized, my mouth can still speak. "I say, why are you catching me? I don't even know you!" The leader ignored her and mounted his horse. "Hey, hey, I say..." An Weixin's words were cut off by a glare from the person on the horse, who smiled wryly and whispered, "So rude, yet not letting others speak, tsk!"
An Wei Xin was thrown onto a horse, and after seven or eight twists and turns, she had no idea where she was being taken. When she saw the ancient and majestic city gate, several large characters suddenly appeared on her head: "Through! Crossed! Past!". An Wei Xin couldn't help but roar in her heart. "Damn it! I just went to see a meteor shower and now I've crossed over like this! My car! My computer! My high-tech era!" An Wei Xin was already tearless, how could she be treated like this?!
An Wei's heart was suffocating, her head hung low in a half-dead state, and she didn't even know where she had been taken. When she finally came to and lifted her head, the first thing she saw was the man with an otherworldly face standing before her.
