Its actually not that heartless

  It's actually not that heartless.

The fierce cow let out a thunderous bellow that shook the air like a clap of thunder, nearly deafening the little spirit's ears.

Su Yao alone remained unaffected, gazing at the demon in front of her. She was neither surprised nor afraid. Her fear of demons had faded significantly compared to three years ago. With a horizontal sweep of her hand, the Frost White Dragon Sword shone with an icy glow under the moonlight, its chilling radiance gleaming brightly.

At the same time as the Qiu Niu pounced, she quickly drew her sword and lightly slashed it in the air a few times. Several blue sword glows shot towards the enormous body of the demon, making a "whooshing" sound. Along with the Qiu Niu's mournful cry, several holes appeared on its body, and then its entire body rapidly froze, falling to the ground. Its skull was smashed open, rolling around on the ground with no blood splattering out, being cleaned up neatly.

Ling'er was shocked and before she could panic, Su Yao had already picked her and Nie Lang up from the ground.

Su Yao glanced sideways at the dark place in the thicket, where countless red lights gathered, and quickly tapped her toes, taking the two of them away from this troubled place. She didn't want to fight with so many demons.

When the light of dawn fell on the quiet mountain road, the first ray of morning light that was shot through the branches hit Ling's small white face. Her long eyelashes moved twice, and a crackling sound came from her ears, slowly opening her eyes. In her blurry vision, she saw a girl in white sitting by the fire roasting fish. She was startled, hastily opened her eyes wide to look around, and only after seeing Nie Lang quietly lying on the grass did she let out a soft breath.

"I think he's waking up soon." Su Ya looked at the man below her and said slowly.

Ling'er walked to Su Ya's side, sat down, and gazed at the fire in front of her. Thinking about what happened last night, she felt a bit embarrassed and said softly: "Thank... thank you, Miss Su Ya." In fact, she wasn't as heartless as she thought herself to be.

Su Ya didn't speak, picked up the roasted fish and handed it to her first. "Eat, wait for your Shixiong to wake up later and ask him which road is closest to Fengdu."

Ling nodded and said thank you, then took the roasted fish and started eating, because she was really hungry.

Su Yu got up and walked to Nie Lang's side, squatted down to pick up the water that had just been fetched from the stream with a banana leaf, carefully helped him up, and fed him to drink.

His body refreshed by the cool water, Ning Lang slowly came to, and when he saw that he was lying in a girl's arms, he hastily pulled away from her. "Sorry, Su Ya..." His voice was a little hoarse, but his tone couldn't hide a hint of panic, and his pale cheeks flushed red.

Ling'er saw her master brother wake up, extremely excited and ran over to him, throwing herself into his arms, worriedly saying: "Master brother, you almost scared me to death."

"Sorry, Ling'er, I made you worry." Nie Lang raised his hand and gently stroked her head, his voice laced with a hint of apology.

Seeing the master siblings' joyful reunion, Su Yao could only apologetically clear her throat twice to interrupt them.

"Mr. Nie Lang, which road leads to Fengdu the fastest?"

Nier let go of Ling'er, stood up and looked around at the terrain on the mountain road below. "Walking this way, crossing two mountains, in about three days' journey to the west, after crossing a high mountain, you can reach Fengdu. This is the fastest route, but it's very dangerous."

Nie Lang's worry was known to Su Yao, because places like Shan Lin that were desolate and uninhabited were often where demons and monsters liked to appear.

It seems that this idea must be cancelled, they must go in the direction of life, at least they won't encounter demons, and dealing with those who come to assassinate Nie Lang and his people is much easier than dealing with demons.

Su Ya finally decided to continue on her journey as usual.
