Chapter 97: New Years Day (1)

  Chapter 97: New Year's Day 097

Back home, Lan Ya saw her mother, Gu Rou, busy in the kitchen.

"Mom, I'm back." Lan Ya called out to Gu Rou, standing at the kitchen door and watching as busy Gu Rou stopped what she was doing.

"Yaya, wait for me, I've cooked some porridge for you." Gu Rou responded to Lan Ya with a sentence before continuing her actions.

Lan Ya obediently sat on the sofa, but her eyes kept glancing at the kitchen.

Mom, it's been a long time since I had porridge cooked by you.

Lan Ya pursed her lips, waiting for Gu Rou to scoop up the porridge.

"Yaya, let's go with Mu Chen." Gu Rou said, although it was a question, but she started as if it were certain.

Put the porridge on the table in front of Lanya and patted the nonexistent dust on her sleeve.

Lan Ya heard Gu Ruo's words and was stunned for a moment before nodding her head.

Is Mu Chen gone? Gone again? Or what?

You said you wouldn't leave, why did you? Did Mu Chen have some unspoken reason for not giving a direct answer last night?

Lan Ya felt her heart was in a mess at this moment, all tangled and chaotic.

"Mom, why?" Lan Ya asked after a long time, feeling her throat was a bit dry.

Since Gu Ruo is certain that Mu Chen has left, she must know why Mu Chen left.

"Actually, he couldn't come back earlier because you fainted a few days ago. He found out and immediately put down his work to look for you, but since he really couldn't get away, he only saw you last night. However, something else happened on the other side, so he could only rush back." Gu Yurou simply said, without intentionally adding anything extra, yet it made Lan Ya feel a bit heartbroken.

She loved Mu Chen so much, and he also loved her just as much.

Mu Chen's departure was like a habit for Lan Ya, who continued to attend classes as usual.

As for Luo Zhiwei and Gong Yan, Lan Ya never mentioned Mu Chen's return, nor did anyone mention Mu Chen to Lan Ya.

In the blink of an eye, it's already winter break, and Lan Ya admits that she doesn't really like Chinese New Year.

But before several days of winter vacation had passed, Chinese New Year was already approaching.

Lan Ya finished all her homework after pulling an all-nighter and then stayed at home, watching TV, browsing Weibo and chatting.

As for Gu Ruo and Lan Ya's dads, neither of them has returned yet.

It was already the twentieth day of the year, and there were still nine days until New Year's Day. After waking up, Lan Ya saw two figures she had been missing dearly - her parents.

"Dad, Mom, you're back." Lanyi was wearing her pajamas and walking around the living room with the heater on. Seeing her parents sitting on the couch discussing something warmed her heart a bit.

It's just that past events are still vivid in her mind, leaving her at a loss for what to do.

She didn't know if her father knew about that matter or if it had passed, but because the New Year was approaching, Lan Ya also didn't mention it.

On New Year's Eve, she got up early and opened the door to see Mu Chen.

The one she had been thinking about in her heart for a long time.

"Blue blue." Mu Chen's voice was cold but had a hint of warmth in it.

The doting gaze and the thought of seeing a loved one, two emotions that left both speechless for a long time.

  "Mu Mu."

After a long time, Lan Ya finally spoke up and pulled Mu Chen into the house.

"Mu Chen, you're here, take a seat." Gu Rou didn't know if Mu Chen had told Lan Ya about his identity, so she simply addressed him as Mu Chen according to their seniority.

Mo Chen nodded and politely wished him a happy new year.

Gu Yu looked at her husband and blinked.

Lan Ya's dad immediately understood his wife's meaning and said, "Ya Ya, Dad and Mom are going out to buy some New Year's goods. Suddenly, we thought of something that was missing. Let's get everything ready for the New Year."
