Unexpected Harvest (1)
Du Keweii is wearing today the silk dress that Li Jiahao gave her when they went shopping together, with a windbreaker over it. In May when the temperature is warming up, it's quite suitable.
Perhaps it was this expensive dress that made her look radiant and refreshed.
Yan Rong stared at her like that until the other two interviewers coughed lightly, then came back to his senses and hastily got up to pour a glass of water for Du Kuiwei.
"Don't worry." He said with a smile.
She performed very naturally in this interview.
It was either because of the cup of warm water at the beginning, or because Yan Rong had been smiling and nodding beside her all along. The cold interview process didn't seem so rigid to her anymore.
She was the last one, waiting for the elevator when Yan Rong called out to her from behind.
"You look especially beautiful today." He said with praise, and also made a big thumbs up.
She smiled happily and said, "Thanks to your cup of water. Are you off work? How about I treat you?"
That day, the touch of fingers to fingers, both people treated it as if it had never happened and didn't mention it again. Yan Rong was an interesting person, casually talking about something could make people listen with relish, so being with him, Du Kuiwei felt no pressure. He didn't demand anything from her, having a very easy-going temperament.
Later on, he talked about the interview performance and said it should be no problem. After some thought, he added, "I didn't know you had so many halos at first."
What he said about the halo, should refer to those work experiences and skill certificates on the resume. Du KeWei felt a bit embarrassed, saying "Because my family has no connections, so I just studied hard." In fact, it's true that her parents' hopes are all on her, and now that she's finally in Shanghai, if she can't make a name for herself, she'll really have no face to show her ancestors.
She gave her a serious look, with a faint glimmer in her dark eyes, as if thinking about something. After a while, she said, "You've passed the interview and there's still a three-month probationary period, good luck, I have high hopes for you."
He always looks out for her.
Du Kewe smiled and thought, running into Yan Rong was indeed a great fortune in her life.
She patted her purse and, without saying another word, walked into a high-end Western restaurant that looked good. She didn't have to please anyone, although in all honesty, she was happy to have such a supportive senior colleague, which also meant that her first job would be relatively easy.
Living in the world is drifting, how can it be unsociable. The relationship between people cannot be as simple as that in school.
Even Yan Rong later said, "I'm helping you now because I see that you have a future."
But more than that, he cherished her.
From the first glance, he felt that she was special, couldn't quite put his finger on it, but some people you just meet and immediately feel a connection with. As if she was the person he had been waiting for all along.
But heaven did not comply, this kind of fate has never been mutual.
He's also open-minded, after all, he's not a young man in his early twenties with a fiery personality. Who hasn't had a few relationships? He understands that these things can't be forced. So his attitude has improved a lot, but when eating, he still couldn't help asking, "You were just distracted by your phone, did you have an appointment with some handsome guy?"
On the table in front of her, a freshly baked pizza was placed, but Du KeWei's fork remained still. It wasn't until Yan Rong spoke that she suddenly lifted her head, looking somewhat dazed as she replied, "No... nothing."
He didn't send it over.
