The Strongest Path 3: Searching
Liu Qingfeng had just walked into the Blue's house when he saw Lan Hanyun rushing down from upstairs with a furious look on his face. In his impression, Yun was always a very steady person and he had never seen him lose his composure over anything. He grabbed hold of Yun who was about to rush out, looking puzzled. "Yun, what's going on?"
He stopped in his tracks and looked clearly at the person in front of him. "Feng, let's go find Xier together, she hasn't come back since yesterday."
"What did you say? Say it again!" Liu Qingfeng could hardly believe what he had just heard. He stumbled backward two steps. "How is this possible? What happened?"
Lan Han's deep eyes were filled with pain and worry. "I don't know either, I only found out she was gone when I came back this morning. Let's go to He Shi Zheng Xin Hospital first."
"Hospital?" Liu Qingfeng asked in surprise.
"It can't be certain, let's go and take a look first." Lan Hanyun quickly walked towards the door.
"Good!" He followed him with a nervous heart.
He's Zhengxin Hospital, Lin Zheng Hospital is the most famous hospital in City A, and almost all of its doctors are experts. The building with European-style architectural design looks elegant and dignified. And the owner of this hospital is the He family, one of the four major families.
He Junfan had just finished a tricky operation and was leaning back in his chair, dozing off. "Knock, knock, knock." The sound of regular knocking came from the door. He slightly furrowed his brow, "Come in!"
The door was pushed open, and a tall and slender young nurse with a hint of shyness on her face walked in. She said respectfully: "Director, there are two gentlemen outside looking for you."
"Find him, who is it?" He lowered his head and thought for a moment. "Tell them to come in."
"Yes!" The nurse turned around and walked out the door, shyly glancing at Lan Huan Yun and the others. They really are handsome! "The director is calling for you to go in."
"Thank you!" Liu Qingfeng smiled and thanked her, while Lan Hanyun coolly nodded her head in appreciation.
The little nurse felt her heart beating fast, her face was red all over. "Don't be polite!"
Lan Hanyun and Liu Qingfeng walked into the principal's office, seeing He Junfan rubbing his temples in exhaustion. "Uncle He!"
He raised his head to see the newcomer, and a hint of surprise flashed across He Junfan's face. He stood up excitedly. "How do you have time to come find Uncle He? Come! Sit down quickly!"
Lan Hanyun revealed a wry smile, how could he have the mood to sit now? "No need, Uncle He! To be honest, I came here today for Xier."
"What's wrong? What about my future daughter-in-law?" Yu Xiang was a knowledgeable and reasonable child, clever and likable. The whole family liked her very much. They had been looking forward to Ye Er returning early and settling the marriage. It would be good for him to have children soon too. But Ye Er had been gone for so long without any news, they were all worried to death. Who knows what that child was thinking?
Liu Qing felt a pang of pain in his heart. Ah! Xiang Er was the fiancée of Ye, and he...
Upon hearing this question, Lan Hanyun knew that Lin Qiang must be deceiving him, but he still held onto a glimmer of hope. "Uncle He! Could it be that Xier is not here?"
"Is she here? How come I don't know! Nurse Wang, come in for a moment." He looked at them in surprise and shouted towards the door.
The nurse walked in with a red face, her eyes occasionally glancing at Lan Huan Yun and the others. "Director!"
"Go check if there is a patient named Lan Ruoxi in our hospital." he instructed.
"Yes!" The nurse quickly retreated.
Before long, she walked in with the hospital records. "Director, I've checked. Our hospital doesn't have a patient with the surname Lan." She handed him the hospital records, "These are the admission records for the past two days, please take a look."
He Junfan carefully read through the records and then returned them to the nurse. "Indeed, there isn't. Has Yu Xi had some kind of accident?"
Lan Hanyun's eyebrows were tightly furrowed as she exchanged a glance with Liu Qingfeng. "No! Uncle He, sorry to trouble you! We have something to attend to and will leave first, we'll come back another time for tea."
He nodded, his heart full of doubts. "Mm! You guys go ahead and busy yourselves!" What exactly happened? Looking at the two kids' strange expressions, could it be that something really did happen to Ruo Xu?
Two people hastily left the hospital, their hearts filled with anxiety. They drove aimlessly through the streets and alleys, hoping to catch a glimpse of the figure they had been thinking about in some place.
Lan Han Yun's eyes drooped in pain as he asked, "Xier, where did you go?" "The wind, let's go to the police station."
Liu Qingfeng's heart was like a knife twisting in his chest, he painfully leaned on the steering wheel and let out a low growl: "Xier... where are you? Where are you?"
The two of them arrived at the police station, where it was bustling with activity.
The police were busy taking a statement from the offender, "Sit properly, do you think this is your home?"
A hoodlum with a cigarette in his mouth was gnawing on a toothpick, looking at the police with disdain. The hoodlum had an air of "I'm a rascal, what can you do to me?" as he sat with one foot on the bench, shaking it back and forth. "I just love sitting like this."
Police Captain Wang Jiang had just received a task and was about to go out on business when he saw Lan Hanyun and the others who were trying to enter. He carefully sized them up from head to toe. Just by looking at their demeanor, he knew they weren't simple characters. "May I ask what brings you two here?"
"We want to report a case." Liu Qingfeng stepped forward.
Wang Jiang looked at them suspiciously, and with one glance, he could tell they were rich young masters. What could they possibly have to report? "Little Li, come over here for a moment."
A small policeman who was sorting files nearby hurried over. "Chief, what's wrong?"
"Pointing to the blue-robed cloud beside them, 'Little Li, I have something to attend to outside, you take their statement.'"
"Head, where are you going?" Little Li called out to Wang Jiang who was just about to leave.
Wang Jiang stopped in his tracks and turned around. "How come you're so good at meddling in other people's business? Alright, alright! I'll tell you out of kindness, so you won't be restless anymore. A female corpse has been found in Qingyan Lake in the east of the city."
"What? Really? I'll go with you then. Alright?" Wang Jiang nodded helplessly, as Little Li was the most clingy person in the police station, and if he didn't agree, he would probably nag him for a whole day.
Xiao Li excitedly waved his fist. "Yes! You're too good, Tou! Come here, Xiao Liu, I'll leave these two to you. I'm going out on a mission with Tou!" Xiao Li happily beckoned over Xiao Liu, who was drinking water nearby.
Lan Hanyun and Liu Qingfeng's faces turned pale as snow in an instant, their whole bodies trembling like fallen leaves in the wind. "We won't report it," they said, before rushing out of the door at lightning speed.
"What's wrong with these two? Do you think the police station is a place for you to play around?" Wang Jiang shouted angrily, staring at their backs.
Two people drove rapidly towards Qingyan Lake, Liu Qingfeng's pale hand gripping the steering wheel tightly. It can't be Xuer, it definitely can't be Xuer.
Lan Huan Yun's eyes were lifeless as she stared ahead, her heart aching like it was being bitten by countless insects.
When I arrived at the lake, a large crowd had already gathered. Everyone was chattering and the lakeside looked like a vegetable market.
An old woman wearing a floral dress shook her head with a look of regret. "I heard that the one who died was still a student, only 16 or 17 years old. What a pity to die so young!"
"I saw that the girl, although somewhat swollen from being soaked in water, was a beauty from her outline." A flower vendor with a basket of flowers approached from the side.
Everyone was talking at once, each one saying a sentence or two in discussion.
Lan Hanyun and Liu Qingfeng were almost unable to stand steady, swaying as they walked towards the lake.
The scene has been cordoned off by police and everyone can only watch from the periphery.
They slowly approached there, constantly comforting themselves in their hearts. That mustn't be Xuer on the lawn, it mustn't be.
A policeman stopped them from advancing, "Halt! The inspector is investigating and no one can take another step closer."
"We are her relatives." Lan Hanyun was covered in cold sweat, his face pale.
The police looked them up and down, saw their sorrowful expressions. "Go in."
Two people stepped over the warning line and cautiously approached the female corpse on the ground, coming to a stop beside her and gazing down at the swollen body.
They let out a sigh of relief at the same time, looking at each other and seeing the doubt in each other's eyes. The female corpse on the ground really looked similar to Xiang Er, whether it was her clothes or her figure. It was clear that someone wanted to create the illusion that Xiang Er was dead. These signs indicated that someone wanted to protect Xiang Er. Whoever it was, as long as Xiang Er wasn't dead, they would meet again someday.
