Twenty-Five Forests Journey Six

Chapter 25: Journey into the Forest (6)

Liu Qingfeng hastily came before her, his face filled with anxiety. "Xier, what's wrong? Let me take a look."

Lan's face was covered with cold sweat, her eyebrows were tightly furrowed, and she nodded painfully.

As she nodded, he sat down on the ground and gently placed her small legs on his own. He carefully removed her shoes and slowly rolled up her pant legs, revealing a pair of slender white legs that were flawless from top to bottom, with not even a single pore visible. It wasn't until a tiny black scar, like a pinprick, appeared on the right side of her leg that he snapped back to attention.

He stared at her wound with a pale face, his hand slightly trembling. "This wound is..."

Seeing his suddenly changed complexion, her heart also trembled slightly. "What is it?"

"The forest's poisonous king, the black spider. If you're bitten by it, your whole body will slowly become paralyzed and unable to move. Until... death." His face was solemn, his eyebrows tightly furrowed together. No, he absolutely wouldn't let anything happen to her, even if it meant trading his own life for hers.

She felt his hands slightly tightening around her calf and knew what he was planning. She struggled hard. "Qingfeng, don't... you'll die."

"Don't move!" He held down her struggling legs. Without hesitation, he lowered his head and sucked hard on her wound, spitting out black blood mouthful by mouthful until the blood slowly turned red, only then did he put down a hanging heart.

Lan Ruoxue's face was already covered with tears. Seeing him stop, she hastily handed him water to rinse his mouth. It wasn't until much later, when she saw that he was fine, that she slowly put her mind at ease. "Qingfeng, you're so silly! If there had been even a tiny wound in your mouth, you would have died."

"It's worth it for you!" He looked up at her seriously, his dark eyes full of deep feelings.

Her heart was deeply moved, she excitedly rushed into his arms, tightly hugging him, and gently patted his back. "Fool, fool! Liu Qingfeng is a big fool! Waaah..."

He smiled like the wind, gently stroking her shiny black hair. "Yes, yes, yes, I'm a big fool! Xi'er, be good! I'm fine, really! Don't cry, okay? It hurts my heart!"

She lifted her tear-stained face to look at him, her hand slowly caressing his handsome face. "Qingfeng, from now on, don't do this again. I don't want anything to happen to you."

"Alright! I promise you. Whatever you say, I'll listen." He gently wiped away the tears on her face.

"Qingfeng, you're really a big fool." Lan Ruoxue's heart flowed with warmth as she scolded in a spoiled manner.

He smiled indulgently and hugged her, whispering softly in her ear. "Fine! As long as you're happy, I'm a big fool."

Two people huddled together under the sun, their hearts so close...

Liu Qingfeng picked up the dried clothes, shook off the dust on them, and put them on. "Xier, we have to hurry up and find them, there are dangers everywhere in the forest."

"Good!" Lan Ruo Xue nodded and picked up her luggage beside her, just about to stand up.

"Don't move! Your foot is still injured. I'll carry you." Liu Qingfeng handed her his own backpack.

"She shook her head and refused, 'No, I can walk by myself.'"

"Take it!" He roughly stuffed the luggage into her arms and squatted down. "Protest is invalid! Come on, my princess."

She raised a sweet smile, helplessly shook her head, and slowly leaned against his strong back. Her hands wrapped around his neck. "Overbearing!"

"Haha... gone. My princess, you'd better catch up." He laughed happily, his heart full of happy feelings.

Liu Qingfeng carried her on his back, walking and searching for the missing people all the way until the sky gradually darkened, but still found nothing.

He found a clean spot and put her down. "Looks like we won't be finding them today."

Lan Ruoxi's face was filled with worry. "I hope they're all right!"

He squatted down and gently patted her pale face, revealing a handsome smile. "Alright! Don't worry, I believe they will be fine. Xiang'er, sit here and don't move, I'll go find some branches and come back soon."

"Good!" She beamed with a bright smile and nodded, reminding him: "You have to be careful!"

"Don't worry, I'll be back soon!" He winked at her and whistled happily.

She slowly watched as his figure gradually disappeared. She gradually felt her vision blur, and her eyelids grew heavy. She leaned against the big tree, slowly closing her eyes.

Liu Qingfeng returned with a large bundle of branches and saw Lan Ruoxue sleeping against the tree trunk, his heart feeling sweet. He put down the branches and came to her side, gazing at her beautiful sleeping face with warm eyes.

She felt someone beside her and slowly opened her eyes. Softly whispering: "Qīng Fēng, you're back."

  "Hmm!" he replied lightly.

She slowly sat up, her head suddenly shaking violently, waves of pain washing over her. Her eyebrows were tightly furrowed as she painfully rubbed her temples. "Oh! It hurts so much..."

"What's wrong?" Liu Qingfeng hastily hugged her, his handsome face full of worry.

She forced a faint smile and shook her head slightly. "It's nothing, maybe I just woke up and have a headache."

"Really?" Liu Qingfeng's eyes were filled with a hint of doubt, his hand gently stroking her forehead. "You're so hot! Xier, you have a fever."

She nodded vaguely. "Fever? No wonder her head hurt so much."

"Come on, lie down and take a nap." He carefully laid her down and slowly leaned her against the tree beside them.

He picked up the luggage beside him and took out the things one by one. These things had all been soaked in water, some of which could no longer be used, and even the dry food had become a mushy mess. He rummaged through it, and finally found a few small porcelain bottles with blue flowers at the very bottom of the package. He let out a slight sigh of relief, fortunately, the sealing property of the bottle was not bad, otherwise, if water got in, it would be useless. He took out one bottle, opened the cap, and poured out two brown pills from inside.

He gently helped Lan Ruoxi up, "Ruoxi, come and take your medicine."

She slowly opened her eyes and looked at him. She pouted like a child: "Hmm... no! I don't want to take medicine." In her past life, she had taken enough; in this life, she didn't want to take any more.

He gently coaxed her. "Xiang'er, be good! If you don't take your medicine, your illness won't get better."

"No, no, I don't want to eat. Waaah... Why do you have to give me medicine." She was crying and throwing a tantrum like a little kid.

"Stop messing around." He helplessly pressed her down, pried open her mouth and stuffed the medicine into it.

She scrunched up her face and struggled to spit out the medicine in her mouth. "No, you're a bad person, I hate you... Waaah..."

Liu Qingfeng gently patted the crying Lan Ruoxi, who was acting like a child. He coaxed her softly and helplessly. "Okay, okay, okay, Ruoxi is good! Don't cry anymore. I won't make you take medicine."

He saw her slowly calm down. He opened the porcelain bottle, poured out two more pills and put them in his own mouth, took a sip of water. Kissed her lips, used the tip of his tongue to pry open her teeth. Slowly fed the medicine into her mouth. Feeling her resistance, he used his tongue to hold it back so she wouldn't spit out the medicine.

When he finally saw her swallow the medicine, he let out a slight sigh of relief. He took another sip of water and slowly fed it into her lips. He gently rested her head on his thigh, wetted a handkerchief with water, lightly brushed aside the hair in front of her forehead, and applied the handkerchief to her forehead to cool her down.

He repeatedly replaced the handkerchief for her until he found that the temperature of her forehead was almost the same as his, and a faint smile appeared at the corner of his mouth. He held her in his arms with peace of mind and slowly closed his eyes.
