Chapter 124: Touching Hearts
The plot is gradually deepening, and near Zhou Xiao's side, there is a family also staring at the screen with red eyes.
This family of three, with a father and mother, had a six or seven year old little girl with them, they all came from Chiba Prefecture.
That's right, this family of three is indeed the one that liked Zhou Xiao during his single release.
Because they liked Zhou Xiao, now that Zhou Xiao's movie is showing, the whole family would come to the cinema to watch it, and they even chose to attend the premiere in Tokyo. The little girl who had just entered elementary school was very sensible and never cried or made a fuss. When Zhou Xiao came on stage, she blinked her shining eyes at his figure, and when the movie started, the girl also seriously watched the movie. However, the girl's parents regretted coming to see this play because the plot of this play was really too sad. Her father was okay, but her mother had already taken out a handkerchief prepared in advance after watching just the beginning part. And what about their child? The parents were afraid that the little girl would be left with some psychological shadow because of this movie.
The little girl, who was only six or seven years old, didn't quite understand the plot of the play. She just vaguely understood a part of it, but that part alone made her eyes well up with tears, though she still hadn't shown too much sadness.
On screen, Zhou Xiao's male lead rejected the girl's confession.
"Ya is really pitiful, getting sick and being rejected by this kid." A woman with a crying tone said nearby.
"Yes, this guy really doesn't know how to appreciate things. Ya is so cute, how can someone still reject her?" Another person said.
"It can only be because of what, no more than Ya also got sick, and boys disdain her."
"That's not right, this boy doesn't seem to know about Ya's illness." someone negated.
The plot moves forward, and by nightfall, the mother finally breaks down. She tearfully announces Aya's condition to the whole family. Because Zhou Xiao felt it was unnecessary to embellish too many characters, this scene, although it is a scene where the mother announces to the whole family with Aya, father, brother, and sister all present, in reality, the camera only focuses on Aya and her mother, while the remaining three roles were played by temporary actors.
Yakushi Maru Hiroko thoroughly released her acting skills here.
From the tragedy of "W" many years ago, Yakusho Hiroko has had quite good acting skills. After more than a decade or two of practice, although her acting style hasn't changed, her acting skills have been growing all along. The unbearable pain and suffering of Aya's mother, enduring hardship alone, and finally releasing the slightest joy. And most of all, the love for Aya is fully displayed on the screen, earning a lot of tears once again.
"Here... you're quite something too." Zhou Xiao whispered to Miyazaki Aoi beside her.
"It's all because of your excellent screenwriting skills." Miyazaki Aoi slightly flattered Zhou Xiao with a sentence.
They're talking about the plot, which is currently being performed on the screen.
The camera gave Ya a close-up shot, and the complex emotions were presented one by one on the girl's face. There was disbelief, reluctance, the pain of wanting to cry out loud, and the strength of desperately holding back tears. In the end, the girl slowly lifted her head, and her big eyes were already filled with tears.
"Why? Why did the illness choose me?!?" On the big screen, Miyazaki Aoi's first tear finally rolled down slowly. Just such a question. No one could answer her.
"Waaaah!!" A woman in her 40s burst into loud wailing in the cinema, drawing a round of sideways glances. She quickly stifled her voice, but sniffling sounds continued to echo through the theater.
"Even if I were acting myself. Every time I see such a scene, I also want to cry..." Zhou Xiao heard the words of Miyazaki Aoi beside him.
"After today, Xiaoya will probably become a pitiful girl that everyone can sympathize with." Zhou Xiao said jokingly.
"Probably someone will pay more attention to scold him now." said Miyazaki Aoi looking at Zhou Xiao.
"That's for sure, fortunately I arranged a whitewashing plot at the end. Otherwise, later on the show, I wouldn't be able to say anything without being pelted with eggs." said Zhou Xiao.
After Aya's illness worsens, the film enters its middle part. On one hand, Aya's condition rapidly deteriorates, and on the other hand, this change in her condition also causes her surroundings to undergo drastic changes. These changes naturally bring about countless tear-jerking scenes. Meanwhile, Shu and Eiichi join Aya in her struggle against illness, and fragments of her ardent love for life and the world are added to intensify the sense of sorrow when she eventually passes away.
If we say that the film's beginning plot setting is more like a Japanese movie, then this part of the plot in the middle actually makes Zhou Xiao and Nagata Kotaro think it's more like a European and American movie. It's not similar in terms of plot, but rather in terms of drama and climax settings, with packages and tear-jerking moments bursting one after another, under the continuous impact, there are hardly a few people in the entire cinema who can bear that sad atmosphere.
As the hours passed, the movie came to its final part. From a bystander's perspective, watching the male lead decline day by day, he found himself liking the girl. He repeatedly asked himself if it was just sympathy that made him feel this way.
But in the end, he still went back to find Ya, telling her that he had fallen for her, not out of sympathy or because of her personality or hobbies, but because of her passion for life and her unwavering strength.
In the quiet hospital, the boy sat in front of the girl's bed and said that he had been admitted to the medical school of a famous university. He spoke about his thoughts over the past few years, saying that not only him but many others had gained great strength from the girl. After Ayaka's diary was serialized, each letter received was deeply moving, inspiring confidence in those who read them.
"Yaya, you're not useless, you've done something that no one else can do!" The boy's last words finally made Yaya smile. This had been her most painful spot, and she had always doubted whether her life was just about causing trouble for others. But the boy's words finally gave her a correct understanding of life and herself, and let her know that there were things she could do, even things only she could do.
In the end of the movie, Ya still passed away. Although the appearance of the male lead in the second half of the film gave the plot a more positive ending, the sadness was still sad. Even if the final result was good, it could only make people smile and cry at the same time.
"It's finally over." When the real appearance of Mu Tong and Ya appeared on the screen along with the ending credits, Zhou Xiao let out a sigh of relief and relaxed a lot. From the constant sobbing sounds around her throughout the movie, Zhou Xiao could feel that everyone was still emotionally invested in this film.
The audience, however, did not stint on their praise, giving the film the most intuitive and obvious thanks. As Zhou Xiao's solo soundtrack played, it was accompanied by the audience's sustained and enduring applause.
Zhou Xiao was thrilled and hadn't expected that the audience would give him such a grand reception, the applause at the end of the movie wasn't bad either.
From the front row, Zhou Xiao stood up and bowed to the audience repeatedly. He was not alone; almost all the crew members in the front row of the cinema stood up, turned around, and bowed to thank the audience.
"This scene is truly unforgettable...". Kotou Toda said beside Zhou Xiao.
"Yes, that feeling... I may never be able to leave the movies behind for the rest of my life." On the other hand, Miyazaki Aoi also said while bowing.
"This audience reaction, I don't know about other performances, but hopefully the final box office will be good." Zhou Xiao said.
"What a... killjoy!" Eita Koto said discontentedly, still being quite artistic.
"Please, parents who have given me food and clothing, 500 million... no, 300 million is enough!" Zhou Xiao said in a voice that only the two people beside him could hear while bowing.
"I really don't know what kind of person you are, able to write such a touching script, yet so money-worshipping!" Mizuki Kiyohara couldn't help but retort.
