Chapter 36: The Haunted House (2)
Xiao Yan lowered her head and stepped on the square tiles under her feet, without noticing that danger was quietly approaching herself...
Xiao Yan suddenly felt a blackness in front of her eyes, and just as she was about to call out, her mouth was tightly covered by a pair of thick and rough hands, only able to make "mm" sounds. Xiao Yan panicked, frantically kicking her lifted legs, struggling, but the person's strength was too great, not budging an inch. She only knew that her body had been quickly lifted up, rapidly running, shaking and swaying, before being put down again, with no sound beside her anymore.
Quiet, eerily quiet. There was no sound of children crying nearby, nor the chatter and laughter from the amusement park.
Sigh——
A strong gust of wind blew towards Xiao Yan, and her eyes were tightly covered with a black cloth. In front of her was only a pitch-black darkness, and she could only feel the chill brought by the wind. She stretched out her hand to pull off the black cloth, and since no one came to stop her, the person who had tied her up should have left already? Thinking this way, Xiao Yan used all her strength to tear open the black cloth in front of her eyes.
She opened her eyes to look around, but it was still pitch black. Occasionally, a faint red light flickered in front of her. Xiaoyan was puzzled about where she was and took a small step forward. Suddenly, a hard object fell from above her head, hitting the ground with a dull thud.
Xiao Yan took a closer look and was shocked to find that it was a white skull with what seemed to be rotting flesh still stuck to it, emitting a foul stench.
"Ah!" Xiaoyan was startled and let out a sharp cry, then hastily ran forward in a flurry, thinking to herself, where is this place?!
Just escaped from that gloomy and frightening person, Xiaoyan suddenly heard a rhythmic knock on the door again, "Knock, knock, knock -"
Xiao Yan looked around and found an old wooden door on her right side. After thinking for a long time, she carefully walked towards the door, thinking that it might be the exit.
Before she reached the wooden door, it opened by itself. However, there was no one in front of Xiaoyan, so who was knocking on the door? All she knew was that outside the door was pitch black, and a gust of cold wind blew straight in, sending chills down her spine.
Just as Xiaoyan was bewildered and stunned, a hand stretched out from behind her and gently patted her shoulder. Xiaoyan hastily turned around, but only saw a head of black long hair fluttering, along with a white skirt swaying back and forth. Under the skirt, there were no hands or feet, as if she was floating while walking! She seemed to float closer to Xiaoyan again, her hair covering her face, and an eerie, sinister laughter echoed, like a ghostly song from the underworld!
Xiao Yan ran with stiff legs, for a long, long time, until she couldn't hear the laughter or see the ghostly figure anymore. She panted heavily, her hands pressed tightly against her chest, trying to calm down her wildly racing heart. Xiao Yan didn't have the chance to think about how to escape, her mind was already filled with fear.
But reality didn't give her a chance to catch her breath, as the sound of iron gates and fences being smashed came from behind her. Xiaoyan turned around and saw countless zombies walking towards her with twisted limbs. The scene was like something out of an American movie, but now it was unfolding before her eyes. Xiaoyan only knew to run, fleeing in large strides! Despair struggled within her, spreading...
Who can come and save her! What is this?! The endless emergence of one monster after another, the terrifying scenes unfolding before her eyes, have almost driven Xiaoyan mad! And yet, someone lurking in the shadows, silently watching all of this, bursts out laughing. As if Xiaoyan's suffering brings them greater joy!
Xiao Yan ran, non-stop running, as if there were countless monsters and beasts chasing her from behind. She was desperate, collapsed, but couldn't stop this pace, fearing that the group of unknown things behind her would tear her apart, gnawing at her, leaving only a rotting corpse in the end.
She doesn't want to stay here! She wants to leave!
