Chapter Seven: The Arrivals
The force of pushing the door open was unexpectedly great, and with a loud bang, it startled both me and Captain Liu. Even the woman and the dead baby were shocked into stillness by the sound.
Before we could react, a figure shot towards the woman's head like a bullet.
Right after that, a loud crash was heard, accompanied by the ear-piercing scream of that skull. A figure then blocked our way.
At this time, the woman's head was screaming and retreating far away, even the dead baby was crawling backwards like a gecko.
The man had his back to us, so I couldn't see his face. However, judging from the silhouette, this person's build and height were about the same as mine. He had a short crew cut, with a straight waist and back, and he didn't seem very old.
The man was dressed in black and at this moment he was holding a half-meter-long knife in his hand. What's strange is that the color of the blade of the knife was also jet-black.
I turned my head to look at Captain Liu, who was now also looking at the black-clad man who had rushed in with a bewildered expression, clearly not recognizing him. I found it strange, what was this person doing, and how could he rush into the morgue in the middle of the night.
Although this person's arrival was strange, judging from his attitude, he is absolutely a tough character, which made me involuntarily let out a sigh of relief. With him here, I suddenly felt much more at ease.
"I'll take care of that woman's head, you can have the kid." The man said without turning around, his back to us.
As soon as I heard his voice, I knew he couldn't be very old and should be about the same age as me.
As soon as he finished speaking, his body moved and the black knife in his hand swung out, charging forward in an instant.
The woman seemed to be somewhat afraid of him, watching as he rushed over, let out a strange cry, and floated past her towards the back, but behind her was not far from the wall, and there was no longer any way to retreat.
At that time, the woman who had no way out let out a mournful cry, and her voice was like the sound of bamboo scraping against something, making my ears itch and giving me goosebumps.
The man seemed to have not heard anything and continued to rush forward, while the woman opened her mouth at this time, revealing a row of white teeth, and bit towards his neck. The dead baby on the ground also jumped up suddenly, with its mouth wide open, biting towards the man's thigh.
At this time I also reacted, and Captain Liu beside me was still gaping, staring blankly ahead.
Just as that little devil pounced on the man, I snatched the talisman from Captain Liu's hand and threw it at the little devil with all my might.
These talismans were all painted by me with cinnabar mixed with the blood of a rooster's comb, and both cinnabar and chicken blood are extremely yang things in the world, especially the blood on the rooster's comb is full of yang energy. Using these two things to paint talismans has an astonishing effect on these yin evil things.
As expected, as soon as I threw out the talisman paper, the dead fetus let out a loud wail and crawled far away. At this time, the woman's head also rushed to the front of that person, and all that could be heard was him letting out a loud roar, his body tilting to one side, swinging the black knife in his hand to slash forward.
The woman, though now with only one head floating, was very agile. The black knife had not even touched it when the head suddenly turned and attacked again from the side.
He dodged the attack with a swift turn of his body and continued to hack at the man's head with the black knife.
I'm too busy to deal with this now, so I took the ebony sword and chased after that dead fetus. The thing was scared away by my talisman earlier and is now staring at me with a pair of green eyes. This is a disaster, I absolutely can't let it go.
As I rushed towards it, the dead infant didn't seem to be afraid of me. Instead, it waved its remaining arm and shouted at me with a distorted mouth.
This has made me so angry that my nose is crooked, thinking that just now you and that woman teamed up against me and I couldn't beat you, but now it's one on one, watch me humiliate you to death!
I rushed over to the dead infant in a few steps and swung the ebony sword at its head.
This guy's skin was all wrinkled and covered in sticky, nauseating bloodstains. Although he had lost an arm, his movements were still incredibly agile. With one sword strike, his body dodged to the side like a nimble gecko, swiftly avoiding the attack.
This guy knew that the ebony sword in my hand was fierce and didn't dare to collide with me head-on, but instead circled around me non-stop, taking advantage of a gap, and immediately pounced on my left side.
A cold smile crept up in my heart, although I still didn't know how this dead fetus would come back to life. However, its IQ was no match for a human's. The opening I left was intentional, and I was waiting for it to deliver itself right into my hands!
As I watched this thing open its big mouth and bite towards me, I sneered coldly in my heart. My left hand quickly reached into my pocket, where I always carried glutinous rice with me. I grabbed a handful and sprinkled it towards the creature.
The dead baby came quickly, I didn't expect to have this move, and was directly hit by the glutinous rice that covered the sky and earth.
The glutinous rice hit the dead baby's body, just like bullets, making a loud "bang" sound, directly knocking it to the ground, letting it roll around on the ground non-stop, with mournful cries coming from its mouth, the voice similar to that of a small dog, but sounding extremely painful.
Now the ground is all glutinous rice, no matter how it rolls, it will crush those glutinous rice, and its body also sticks to a lot of them. These glutinous rice are born to be their nemesis, this time making it only miserable cry, can't even crawl up.
Watching this guy rolling around on the ground non-stop, I spat out a mouthful of bad air. Now that the opportunity was rare, how could I miss it? I shouted loudly, raised my ebony sword, aimed at his neck, and chopped down in one go.
With one swing, I used all my strength and the ebony sword chopped directly into the dead fetus's neck.
With just a "plop" sound, this guy's head was completely chopped off by me, and his headless body sprayed out a jet of dark, stinky, sticky blood, still rolling on the ground for two rounds before it stopped moving.
The head of this dead baby was cut off by me, but it was still lying on the ground with its mouth wide open, crying out loud and jumping up and down, only it had no body and couldn't jump up.
Generally speaking, when a corpse undergoes rigor mortis and even becomes a zombie, it's enough to just cut off its head and this thing will be useless. But from that woman's head to the dead infant in front of me now, they have all broken through the common sense that my master taught me - what exactly are these things?!
Although I don't understand what this dead baby is all about, its head has been cut off by me now. Although it's bouncing around on the ground, it doesn't float in mid-air like that woman's head did, which makes me feel a bit relieved. I quickly ran forward and stepped on this guy's head with one foot.
I kicked with all my might, thinking that this guy's fist-sized head would be crushed like a watermelon by me. Who knew that this thing's head wasn't big, but it was as hard as an iron ball.
I used all my strength to kick it down, but instead of kicking its head open, I was shocked that my foot hurt so much that I gritted my teeth, and the dead baby's head kept pushing up against the sole of my foot, and I had to use all my might to hold it down.
"Seal it with a soul-locking charm in its muddy palace, whatever you do, don't let its yin spirit escape!"
At this moment, the black-clothed man who was entangled with the woman shouted loudly at me.
I was startled by his voice, and I never thought that this thing still had a ghost in its body. If it lets the ghost run away, it would be a big trouble!
But just now my talismans were all scattered on the ground, and now I'm stepping on this guy, there's no way to pick up the talismans. Fortunately, Captain Liu also ran over at this time, looking at the dead fetus head under my feet, his face turned white, and he spat a mouthful of saliva on the ground, exploding with a foul language: "Damn it, what kind of ghost thing is this!"
I don't have time to explain now, I loudly told him: "You step on this guy, I'll go get the talisman."
The dead baby's head was under my feet, screaming and crying. An ordinary person would not dare to step on it with their foot, but Captain Liu had been a detective for over a decade, his courage had long been honed, he heard what I said and didn't hesitate at all, he replaced me and stepped on the dead baby's head.
He was tall and strong, with a powerful build that far surpassed mine. With one kick, the stillborn baby's head would be completely crushed, not even letting out a cry, but instead staring at me with a pair of eerie green eyes.
I see that this guy's eyeballs are slightly rolled up, and a faint mist is slowly rising from the position of his mud ball palace.
As soon as I saw that fog, I got anxious, because that thing was exactly this guy's dark soul, it wanted to escape!
Having gone to so much trouble to subdue it, I didn't want this guy's vengeful spirit to get away, so I quickly rummaged through the talismans that had been scattered on the ground earlier.
Fortunately, there was a soul-fixing charm just a short distance away from me. I grabbed it and shouted loudly at Captain Liu: "Withdraw!"
Captain Liu's foot suddenly retracted, and the Soul-Sealing Charm in my hand also slapped onto this little ghost's Mud Ball Palace with a loud "pa" sound.
Mud Ball Palace is a place just above the forehead, where newborn babies are very thin. When they breathe, you can still see the Mud Ball Palace bulging in and out. My master told me that this place is where human yin souls enter and exit. After death, the soul will float out from the Mud Ball Palace.
Only when the town soul charm was stuck to the dead infant's heavenly cover, those yin souls floating out of its muddy palace immediately shrank back, this time without needing to be stepped on, it didn't move at all.
Just as I was dealing with the stillbirth and Captain Liu let out a sigh of relief, a loud crash suddenly came from beside us, followed by the woman's ear-piercing scream.
We hastily turned our heads to look, and saw that the woman's head was now being chopped onto the mortuary cabinet by the man in black. The force of his blow was extraordinary, directly smashing a large pit into the mortuary cabinet.
The black knife chopped into the woman's head, but her rotten head was now as hard as an iron ball and didn't even leave a scar.
All that was seen was the man using his right hand to tightly grasp the knife handle, and without caring about the woman's loud cries, he stretched out his left hand and grabbed her hair, lifting her up.
He immediately threw the knife in his right hand to the ground, stretched out his fingers and put them into his mouth, biting his index finger, and dripping a few drops of fresh blood onto the woman's crown.
I don't know what this guy is all about, but his blood is actually more effective than my Soul-Calming Charm. A few drops of fresh blood fell onto that woman's head, and she immediately stopped screaming, her eyes slowly closing, motionless.
At this time, the man turned around and walked towards us with the woman's head in his hand.
