Chapter 9 ≈ Deep White Bones
Lin Hao walked in and carefully observed the person hiding in the corner, looking at the foot bones that were exposed outside, stained with blood. But what surprised Lin Hao was that part of this beggar's foot had already revealed deep white bones.
It seems... as if something has been gnawing on it... what's going on? Lin Hao stretched out his hand to stop the security guard who was scolding, squatted down and carefully examined the beggar's foot with deep white bones protruding.
"Can you tell me where you've been before?"; The beggar was just panicked. When he heard someone ask him where he had been before, he shouted loudly.
"I don't know, I don't know anything, I haven't seen anything," he said in a low voice, "Be careful, there are vampires." Then he chuckled to himself and left. Lin Hao watched as the beggar escaped into the distance, his body still stiff like a corpse.
Lin Hao looked at the beggar walking away and turned to ask the security guard who had rushed out, wailing and crying: "Has he been begging around here all along?" The security guard furrowed his brow and replied, "He seems to have been begging around here, but I'm not really sure."
I just returned from abroad and it's only my second day at work. I was in the lobby downstairs when I saw him looking pitiful, so I kindly let him into the building to rest. Unexpectedly, he ran upstairs all by himself.
"Ah! Right, who are you people? There's been a murder in this building and it's already been sealed off by the police. How did you get in here? Jesus... You're not here to steal something, are you?"
Zhao Mingyang was angered by this security guard who was about the same height as him, but not as handsome, and whose brain didn't seem to be working very well. He almost blew his top: "You're the one who's here to steal things!"
Grandpa, I'm catching ghosts. The little kid is going away. If a man-eating evil spirit comes in a while and swallows you with one bite, I'll help inform your family members. Hurry up and leave! Where are you going?
The security guard glared at Zhao Mingyang and flipped him off, saying rudely: "Mind your own business, worry about yourself!" Hmph.
At this moment, Lin Hao looked at the security guard, who was actually a head taller than him, making Lin wonder if he should buy insoles or if there was something wrong with his diet. Damn it, he wasn't short, was he?!
In the forensic team, I'm the tallest. Of course you are the tallest, because in the whole forensic police force, you're the only man, and the others are all in the city. Who would want to come to this poor and remote place where birds don't even leave droppings and chickens don't lay eggs?
The security guard said with some fear: I just arrived not long ago, I heard from my colleagues that this building is haunted. At night, a knife-wielding monster will appear on this floor and go around killing people everywhere.
Lin Hao furrowed his brow and listened carefully. Zhao Mingyang was not as calm as Lin Hao, "How could this be? No way, Hao Shu, could it really be a monster?! We just came back from the Ghost Gate Pass, Hao Shu, you're not thinking...!"
Zhao Mingyang made a grasping motion with his hand. Lin Hao nodded, "I must catch this scoundrel, I absolutely cannot let him get away..." As soon as Lin Hao finished speaking, he looked again at the beggar who had stumbled and run far away earlier.
He turned around to face the guy in front of him, who was a head taller than himself. "You've only been here for two days, how do you know he's called 'Paralyzed Six', and how do you know he usually hangs out around here?"
The security guard explained that he heard it from his colleague, and after finishing speaking, he sat down on the sofa with a thud. I was scared to death earlier! It turned out that I really thought it was a ghost, and all the momentum I had boasted about in front of my colleagues was gone.
Mei Yan said disdainfully: You're really useless, a small beggar can scare you to death, if we encounter a blood-sucking mantis like we did just now, you'll be scared to death! But people like you won't understand anyway.
Alright, never mind, Mei Yan. What's your name? Lin Hao turned around to ask the security guard. A flash of sharp light flickered in the guard's eyes, extremely fast, so fast that even Lin Hao thought he was seeing things.
The security guard smiled and said, "My name is Ye Sichen." Ye Sichen, hello. I hope you won't tell others that we met here, because I don't want to cause trouble. You'll understand, right? Lin Hao said, staring at Ye Sichen with a cold, threatening gaze.
He turned around and said, "Thank you for your cooperation." Then he whispered, "Mei Yan, aren't we going to get caught if we don't leave now? What if someone finds out that the three of us, two forensic doctors, and a team leader are at the scene of this murder case... who's going to take responsibility?"
"Hmm! Hmm! Thanks to you, Lin, you're getting worse and worse. The three of us usually make a quick escape when we see him coming. Lin Hao returned to his dormitory, it was already past 2 am, he hastily washed up and collapsed onto the bed, leaning against the headboard, Lin sighed: Ahh!"
It's finally time to take a rest. The next morning, Lin Hao hadn't woken up yet when his older cousin Lin Feng started banging on his door like his butt was on fire.
Younger brother, wake up quickly. Older brother is inviting you to have breakfast. Lin Feng knocked on the door of Lin Hao's dormitory loudly. Lin Hao quickly buried himself under the quilt and a muffled voice came from under the quilt.
