Three Swords

  Three Swords

Gao Cheng reached out and pulled me up from the ground, with a look of disgust in his eyes: "Your scream was too loud."

I ignored him and thought for a moment before raising my head to ask: "Why three knives?"

"The first slash represents anger, the second slash represents jealousy, and as for the third slash," his gaze settled on a certain spot, "it represents love and hate intertwined. Mr. Du, do you think I'm right?"

Suddenly shifting her gaze towards Du Xiangyuan, was the murderer really him?

Du Xiangyuan's reaction was particularly unusual, his face was surprisingly calm, and all he heard from his mouth were two words: "Not right."

Gao Cheng slightly curved his lip and looked at Zhang Ji: "Take it back for re-examination."

As I stepped out of the villa, the sky had already darkened. Xu Jianglun quietly pulled me and asked, "Xia Zhu, has Mr. Gao already determined that Du Xiangyuan is the murderer?" I glanced at the tall figure walking in front of us, also unclear about what was going on, but somehow feeling it wasn't quite right. Seeing that I didn't respond, Xu Jianglun whispered again, "Earlier, did you and Mr. Gao agree to come to the villa to recreate the scene? You acted so realistically, your expressions and everything were spot on."

"It's all thanks to him leading the way." I replied perfunctorily, my own mysterious and delusional thoughts being hard to convince others of. Xu Jianglun looked at me with envy: "If only I could follow High Sir and learn from him too, that would be great."

I patted him on the shoulder and said with a heavy heart: "Believe me, that's absolutely not a good thing."

The car drove for a while before I suddenly realized that the air pressure inside was quite low. I turned my head to look at the figure in the dark and asked softly, "Hungry?" This person usually has a bad temper when they haven't eaten enough or slept well.

"Do you think everyone is as stupid as you?"

Obviously a cannonball, I moved aside and kept a safe distance. But as soon as I did, he leaned in close, put his hand on my shoulder and pulled me back to the original position, saying something inexplicable: "It should be this way."

I thought all the way, and finally concluded that he was still immersed in reasoning about the case, which ordinary people couldn't understand. But then, the hand on my shoulder seemed to have forgotten to withdraw. When the car stopped, Gao Cheng didn't intend to get off, and with a tired expression, instructed: "Let them drive the car back to the residential area." Just then, Zhang Ji walked over and knocked on the window, saying stiffly: "Du Xiangyuan has made a request."

  Interrogation room.

I sat uneasily on one side of the long table, with Iron-faced Detective Zhang Ji beside me and Du Xiangyuan across from us. Just now, Zhang Ji said that when Du Xiangyuan made a request to be interrogated, I could be present at the scene. At that time, I subconsciously looked at Gao Cheng beside me, but he said: "What are you looking at me for? If you want to go, then go; if you don't want to go, then refuse." But when I really stepped out of the car, a low, cold voice came from behind: "Drive."

At this moment, I sit here, Du Xiangyuan staring at me steadily, his eyes seemingly filled with sorrow. It's clear that he's not looking at me, but at Yu Xiuping. Vaguely understanding some things, my uneasy emotions gradually dissipate, and I calmly endure the gaze.

"After a moment of silence, Zhang Jigong finally spoke in a matter-of-fact tone: 'Can we begin?'"

Du Xiangyuan's mouth twitched into a wry smile, his voice hollow: "Let's begin."

As I walked out of the police station, the night had already fallen dark. I declined Xu Jianglun's offer to send me back, believing that the police station would not be calm tonight and would be busy until late at night. The case was finally closed. Standing on the side of the road waiting for a car didn't worry about safety issues, believing that there wouldn't be any fools who would commit crimes in front of the police station gate. It's just that the night wind was very cool, blowing on my body and making me shiver. I raised my collar to cover my neck.

My mind was about to wander off when a cold snort suddenly came from the darkness, "Really ugly!", which scared me half to death.
