Chapter Fifty-two Corpse
When I passed by, the deceased's family was wailing and crying, while people in the corridor were whispering to each other. The nurse finally let us in, and at this time, the doctor on duty had arrived and was examining the deceased. However, the deceased's family sat aside, sobbing: "You must have given him the wrong medicine, otherwise my husband would not have died even if he broke his arm and stayed in the hospital. He was fine when he went to the bathroom just now, this is unacceptable! You owe me a person——"
The doctor was also tense, and Zhang Qianqian, Wang Jing, and the others all gathered around, busy with their work. I just took a glance and already knew that this person was dead. However, it's strange that since he died in such a short time, and considering he had just gone to the bathroom and come back, he shouldn't have been sleeping too soundly, so he should have struggled at least a bit when he died. But this person died very peacefully, with his hands placed flat on the bed, eyes tightly closed, and no look of pain on his face. This didn't seem right; it was as if he had died without any awareness in his sleep. But according to what the deceased's family said, he should have just gone to the bathroom and lain down before dying. So why did he die so quickly? What kind of acute illness could cause someone to die this fast, yet still look so calm?
As I was lost in thought, I noticed that the deceased had a layer of dark gray air on his face. Generally speaking, when people die, their facial color is normal, and as time passes, it will gradually turn white. However, if rigor mortis sets in, the facial color will also turn dark gray. This is something I learned from my second uncle. When he went to help with funeral arrangements, he would sometimes take me along, which is why I'm not afraid of such things.
He pulled Zhang Jianhua and lowered his voice: "Support me to go over, let me take a look at this person, it seems a bit strange, I'm worried that it's not clean."
I felt Zhang Jianhua's body stiffen, he swallowed his saliva and still supported me as we slowly approached. At this time, no one came to notice us, so I leaned in close to the bed and reached out to touch the deceased person's leg with my hand. However, this touch made my heart skip a beat because the deceased person's body temperature had not completely dissipated, which means that the person had just died. But how could there be signs of rigor mortis? The bluish-gray color should only appear eight hours after death. This is really problematic, but Master isn't here and I'm so weak, what should I do?
I took a look at the deceased's past to see if he had provoked any unclean things, all I needed to do was open my heavenly eye. However, I had been injured before and was still very weak, so I wasn't confident in using my heavenly eye at this time. But curiosity drove me to continue, so I gritted my teeth and slowly closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and calmed down. Then, I activated my heavenly eye, but felt a slight headache. Still, I persisted and finally managed to expand my spiritual awareness. I saw everything in the room, but what caught my attention was the deceased's body. His three souls and seven spirits were gone, and there was no vital energy left on his body. Normally, as long as a person is alive, their body will naturally absorb the essence of heaven and earth, which supports the body. Once the body starts to decline, it can't store more vital energy. When the body can no longer hold any vital energy, the person dies. However, even after death, this vital energy won't disappear immediately, and there's usually a last bit of energy left in the body. This is what people call the "last breath." If this last breath reconnects with the yin-yang, it will cause the so-called "corpse change," and that's why zombies appear due to this remaining vital energy.
The three souls and seven spirits, after a person dies, the soul will not realize that they are dead at first, so it will linger in the body. After a long time, or because they can't move, or because of the crying of loved ones, they will finally know that they are dead. However, even if they know, people are greedy for life, so even after knowing they are dead, the soul still does not want to leave its own body, until the yin messengers come to take the person away. At this time, people are still greedy for the world of the living, but cannot bring away the ming soul hidden in the body, so there is also the saying of "returning on the seventh day". In fact, it's not that the ghost returns, but rather the ming soul that has been reluctant to leave finally leaves after losing its physical body.
The human spirit is formed by the combination of soul and energy. The soul has three aspects: heavenly soul, earthly soul, and life soul. The energy has seven aspects: Tian Chong (heavenly energy), Ling Hui (spiritual energy), Qi (vital energy), Li (physical strength), Zhong Shu (central energy), Jing (essence), and Ying (flourishing energy).
The human life soul, through the heavenly energy, spiritual energy, and vital energy of the seven energies, governs thought and wisdom. Through the vital energy, physical strength, and central energy, it governs action. Through the essence and flourishing energy, it governs the body's health and strength. Only the central energy is the center of the seven energies.
The human life soul relies on the seven chakras. The connection between the life soul and the central energy in the human body is the closest, so the central energy is also called the life energy. In the human body, the yin of the heavenly energy and spiritual energy combines with the yang of the essence and flourishing energy to produce the tangible energy.
Outside the human body, it is due to the yang of the heavenly soul and the yin of the earthly soul that the life soul is formed. At the same time, the three souls combine to form the intangible fate. Fate is determined by the combination of the human heavenly and earthly souls, governing the good or bad fortune and strength or weakness of one's destiny.
Destiny refers to the human life soul supporting its own heavenly and earthly souls, flourishing or declining. Destiny is governed by fate, and fate is brought forth by destiny. Fate is intangible while destiny is tangible; when they combine, they form a complete human life.
The spirit of life is the root of the seven po, and the seven po are the branches and leaves of the spirit of life. Without the spirit of life, the seven po cannot be born; without the seven po, the spirit of life cannot flourish. The spirit of life is the master soul of a person's body. The combination of the two souls of heaven and earth produces the spirit of life and gives birth to human beings. When the spirit of life comes to an end, it splits into yin and yang again and returns to heaven and earth. The heavenly soul dominates light, while the earthly soul is the shadow formed by the light of the heavenly soul shining on the spirit of life. Therefore, the earthly soul is also called the shadow soul. Without light, there can be no shadow; without a shadow, there can be no form.
If a cultivator can cultivate to the point of integrating their fate, they can unite with the essence of heaven and earth. Only then can the spiritual soul in the human body's brow chakra manifest the image of the heavenly and earthly souls. The heavenly and earthly souls that are always outside and visible to all phenomena can be displayed in the human brain and heavenly eye, which is called the heavenly eye. Because the heavenly and earthly souls can not only attach to the physical body to display all phenomena but also exist freely after leaving the physical body, a person's heavenly and earthly souls are also called externalized bodies or the second yuan Shen.
After a person's death, the heavenly soul returns to the Heavenly Road and reaches the spatial Heavenly Road. Because the heavenly soul is only good conscience and is not born or destroyed "Wuji", it cannot return to its ancestral home due to the causal connection of the physical body, so it can only be taken away to the temporary abode on the spatial Heavenly Road, where it is temporarily detained by the main god, which is called the heavenly prison. The earthly soul returns to the Earth Office and reaches hell, because the earthly soul knows all the causes and effects of the master soul's retribution, and can also instruct the good or evil of the physical body in the world. After death, the earthly soul again enters the land of cause and effect. The mortal soul wanders between graves, because the human soul is originally "ancestral virtue" passed down through generations of surnames. With seven souls in the body, its nature and behavior are determined by the soul's power. After death, it returns to the grave site, where it comes and goes on the road of abode, which is why people often see ghosts in the tomb. In fact, a single mortal soul will not harm people and cannot gather yin energy. Only when the earthly soul escapes and meets with the mortal soul can they form a fierce ghost, but the heavenly soul is not present, which is also why ghosts are always a bit dull until they reincarnate again, at which point the three souls reunite.
It's strange that this person died, but his body hasn't stiffened yet, and his soul is already gone. This is absolutely impossible, but it has happened. I was shocked in my heart, and suddenly felt a severe headache, so I quickly exited the Heavenly Eye, and couldn't help but breathe heavily. If I'm not mistaken, this person's soul should have been taken away by something, only then can it be possible for both his life and soul to be gone from his body.
As soon as I thought of this, my face changed drastically. If it was like that, then wouldn't there be something terrifying in this hospital that could snatch away three souls and seven spirits while draining one's vital energy? That would definitely not be something I could handle. Suddenly, I thought that maybe this was just the beginning. No matter what it was, it couldn't possibly just harm one person and be done with it. Thinking of this, I lost control of myself and grabbed Zhang Jianhua, exclaiming in a low voice: "Quickly call Sun Ge, no matter what, we have to find my master, the faster the better! Let my master hurry over, otherwise there will definitely be more deaths!"
It's really frustrating. Before I even finished speaking, I heard another scream from outside: "Someone's dead! Another person has died in room 29."
At this moment, I suddenly stiffened all over, it seems that the things I didn't know about weren't just aimed at one person, and if this continues, who knows how many people will die? What to do? Can we just watch as people die? But now, in this state, even Tianyan can't open his eyes, anything he does is a death wish, or maybe not - I seem to have thought of something, a glint of light flashed in my eyes, and I let out a soft "ah" towards Zhang Jianhua: "Zhang brother, first help me take a look over there."
Zhang Jianhua didn't say much, and led me to room 29. From a distance, I could hear muffled sobbing sounds. As soon as I glanced at the door, I couldn't help but smile bitterly and turn around to leave. Zhang Jianhua asked in a low voice, "What's wrong, Gao Ren? Aren't you going in to take a look?"
"Look, the dead people are all in their 70s and 80s, and they still have a strong aura. If it were me, I wouldn't choose to target the old and weak either. This old man died of natural causes." Glaring at Zhang Jianhua, I felt that he was afraid things wouldn't escalate, and often incited me. Humming, "I'll set up an array first, try to stall for time until my master arrives, hoping no one else will die."
I don't know why, but at this moment, the young couple who beat me up earlier and their gang are still following me, making me feel awkward all the time. It's hard to do things freely like this, but it's clear that these people won't leave for ten years. Just right, I can use them to do some things. As I glanced at those people, I suddenly smiled.
